knowing what fruits are in season is actually a curse i dont wish on anyone. dont learn about this. you will find yourself talking to someone about grocery shopping and they will say they want to buy this fruit they saw and you will say you shouldnt, its out of season it wont taste very good (and its probably more expensive than other fruits that are in season) and they will go ok but i wanna and they will buy it anyways and then not even a day later theyll tell you how awful and expensive the fruit was and you will have to nod and not kill them with rocks

The sandwich gender spectrum post has escaped containment again and reading the responses at this point is almost as fascinating as the original field work that provided the data. It's very hard for some people to grasp, even on Tumblr, that sandwiches have no inherent gender.

Liking a specific sandwich does not gender you in any meaningful way. Loudly rejecting a sandwich because it would portray you as too effeminate or masculine, or demanding a sandwich as a way of asserting your gender identity -- that is the what I'm discussing, not the sandwich itself. A man eating a veggie wrap doesn't impact my data because that's actually very normal; men performatively rejecting a veggie wrap as too feminine is what the post is about.

Don't get dysphoria because you like a sandwich that the patriarchy has assigned to another gender, my beloved trans readers. That's the tox-cis-ity talking.

I’ve been experiencing this lately with people trying to argue with me about my views on sex work.

“You can’t compare sex work to other types of work because having sex you’re not enthusiastic about is really traumatizing”

I’m sure for a lot of people that’s true but for me sex and masturbation occupy a similar emotional space to brushing my teeth or doing the dishes and I certainly don’t feel traumatized about it and I know for a fact that I’m not the only person who feels this way.

Also I think that someone physically and violently forcing me to brush my teeth might end up being traumatizing.

Sex is so taboo and mythologized that people have forgotten the mechanics of it.

Yeah sex might be sacred and important to you. To me it’s a chore I’ve gotta do sometimes. Like cooking. I love cooking and put great importance on it and who I do it with. A lot of people just cook to live though.

Yeah if to you sex has a lot of emotions caught up in it I’m not gonna tell you that you’re wrong for feeling that way. That’s normal. It’s not a universal experience though. And if you can’t accept that, then too bad. Other people’s personal realities don’t exist to confirm your personal worldview.
