Title is ‘Forget Rudolf’.

Technically canon to a side story of my main Umamusume fic, ‘Dead Last’ (connected via a series), but neither is required reading for the other (though obviously I’d say it enhances the experience—especially Chapter 7 and Chapter 8, which detail the night out that immediately preceded Forget Rudolf).

The next chapter there, hopefully out either this week or the next, is going to be an Admire Groove POV almost three years after Still in Love went missing and the morning after Forget Rudolf—so that’s going to be fun!

Also I got into a bunch of discussion in the comments regarding my writing decisions (and characterization more generally) in the comments, so that’ll probably be a fun read too!

The Maritime Museum of San Diego, stewards of HMS Surprise (formerly Rose) have announced that the ship will close as a dockside exhibit on August 1st, 2027. This comes after a professional assessment about the financial feasibility of keeping her open. The organization aren't pursuing a fundraiser, but are exploring options for where she can go next.

I'm deeply saddened by this news—especially at a time when many ships are struggling to stay afloat due to lack of funds. I'll never forget the hospitality the museum showed me when I was on tour with Baggywrinkles. Getting to do an event aboard a historic steam ferry was a real treat.

If you haven't had the chance, you have a year to make it to San Diego and step aboard this truly gorgeous vessel. She's well worth the trip!

I love this video... going to put it under the read more because it sucks (cw misogyny, racism, unfunny 'comedy' question mark). probably don't bother actually watching unless you want the full experience. But it's amazing. The woman in the audience doesn't say a single word and the comedian just unravels. Her silence becomes increasingly unnerving to him; he starts making up things he imagines she would want to say to him, rambles about how even her friend is trying not to laugh (cut to her friend's expression which is just tired annoyance), spirals into a rant about how she wants to take away his freedom of speech, how she would freeze his bank account if she could, eventually fantasizing about her getting gangraped (with some extra racism thrown in there). It's art. She's so powerful. Why did he post this himself.

To this day, one if my favorite parts of Worm is how when Taylor is first going out in costume, she describes balling up tissues in her coin purse(that she keeps in her utility pack(not a backpack))so that the change wouldn't jingle.

And then, during the Echidna arc, she's held briefly by Miss Militia, who says she needs to look at Taylor's backpack. Taylor goes Actually, It's A Utility Pack. And Miss Militia looks through it and takes an inventory of the backpack, and then finds the coin purse. And she's like Oh, A Coin Purse... With Tissue Inside Of It? Oh!
