While visiting family in Money, Mississippi, 14-year-old Emmett Till, an African American from Chicago, is brutally murdered for flirting with a white woman four days earlier. His assailants–the white woman’s husband and her brother–made Emmett carry a 75-pound cotton-gin fan to the bank of the Tallahatchie River and ordered him to take off his clothes. The two men then beat him nearly to death, gouged out his eye, shot him in the head, and then threw his body, tied to the cotton-gin fan with barbed wire, into the river
Trayvon Martin
Zimmerman encountered Martin, who had left the house to purchase Skittles and iced tea. Zimmerman shot the unarmed teenager in the chest. Martin died less than a hundred yards from the door of the townhouse in which he was staying.

James Brissette and Ronald Madison. They were killed September 4, 2005 in New Orleans, LA by NOPD officers Kenneth Bowen, Robert Faulcon, Jr., Robert Gisevius, Jr., and Anthony Villavaso II. James and Ronald were two of the many displaced in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina .The officers approached the bridge and opened fire on civilians; NOPD killed James , Ronald, and wounded three members of the Bartholomew family, of which James was a family friend
Keivon Young
It took less than ten seconds for gunfire to erupt outside — just feet away from friends and family, as well as a baby.
Young says he was abruptly approached out of the darkness by men in plainclothes with guns. Without identifying themselves, according to Young, they opened fire. Without any other recourse he dropped to the ground while being sprayed with bullets.
“I laid down ’cause they were shooting. I couldn’t do anything. I put my hands on top of my head. I could feel the bullet passing my head. I almost died…. I didn’t do anything wrong,” Young Said.
“I was trying to out my hands on my head but they shot me in my leg. I couldn’t even tell them,” Young said.
Oscar Grant
A San Francisco jury today ruled in favor of a white, former transit officer who fatally shot an unarmed, black man in an infamous killing captured on cellphone cameras. The federal jury awarded no damages to the father of Oscar Grant III, killed by a single shot to the back from BART Officer Johannes Mehserle early on Jan. 1, 2009 in Oakland.
We need black people on the grand jury! The grand jury and the justice decide the fate of our black victims more than their lawyers do. Lets get the grand jury full of black people so their murderers will no longer walk free while they lay in a casket under the earth! There are requirements you have to meet to get on the grand jury which I will post once I gather all of them.
When we say “black lives matter”, it does not imply “white lives don’t matter.”
When we say “women should be respected”, it does not imply “men should not be respected.”
When we say “there’s nothing wrong with being gay”, it does not imply “there’s something wrong with being straight.”
When we say “trans people are people” it does not imply “cis people are not people.”
Us getting rights does not mean your rights are being taken away. You are not a victim. So stop making everything about you.
The sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart. And being thoughtful. And being generous. Everything else is crap, I promise you. It’s just crap that people try to sell to you to make you feel like less. So don’t buy it. Be smart. Be thoughtful. And be generous.

I’m nowhere near perfect. Dating me means dating the better days and the worse. Not one or the other. It means dating someone who is in repair, after being broken down so many times. It means dating my guards I’ve set up to protect my heart. It means I’m reluctant to open up when it comes to my past, because I’m hoping a better future with you will cover it up. That it will stop hurting. But if you can listen and understand why I am the way I am, I will have so much trust for you. It means accepting your past. It means you need to tell me when something needs to change without playing guessing games. Dating me means dating my habits. It means I’m a loser and I make jokes a lot. I’m only happy when I’m laughing. It means dating my jealousy, because I don’t like sharing you. Dating me means receiving morning texts because you’re the first thing on my mind and I want you to wake up with a smile. Hopefully. Dating me means dating my inability to be good at texting. Or texting back period, because I feel better talking than typing. It means if you need me in the middle of the night, I will drive to your house to have you in my arms. It means when you call me but you can’t find any words, I will listen to your silence until we drift off. It means when I can’t see you, I’ll always find a way to assure you I’m thinking of you. Missing you. I’ll order takeout to be delivered to your doorstep when you can’t find motivation to make anything. You need to eat something. It means holding your hand when you allow me to. It means singing loud and probably off key to our favorite songs. It means I’ll go to the lengths of embarrassing myself, just to see you laugh. It means going on drives to new stores and places. It means just going on a drive to drive. It means sitting in an unmoving car, listening to the rain. It means cuddling under blankets and watching Netflix all day. It means calling you late at night to tell you I love you, but I’m so tired I forget and say it twice. Maybe three times. It means road tripping to new places to see what there is, and to see you, seeing what there is. It means being pulled into a hug tighter and it means me kissing your forehead. It means tolerating sarcasm because it gets to a point where even I’m convinced I wasn’t kidding. It means wrestling and laying on the floor, giggling like we’re kids. It means my family is yours, because my brothers will fall in love with you. My dad will gang up on me with you to see you smile. We have that in common. It means making my mum’s heart a little less heavy…to see us so happy together. It means I won’t give up on you. It means I won’t walk out on you without trying. It means I’m brutally honest and it’s because I want to get through the hard times. It means if one of us ends up broken, it won’t be you. I can’t give you the world, but dating me means I’ll do my best. I’ll give you all of my heart. When I tell you I love you…I mean it.

cutting ties
it was about damn time.
Know what my favorite part of this is? That one only has ties on a small part of their body whereas the other is tied all along one side up to the face, meaning one person is not quite as invested in the relationship as the other. Even better thought, the one with most ties is the one with the scissors. Im so glad they’ve built up the courage to leave even if it means cutting out a larger part out of their life than the other.
Wow needed to see this at this moment.
You’ll likely end up disappointed if you think people will care for you the way you care for them. Not everybody has your heart.

SEW WANDERLUST
Designer Teresa Lim is not your typical artist. Instead of capturing her zest for wanderlust on camera, she has become the ultimate DIY queen by constructing embroidered souvenirs. Detailing the several, beautiful landscapes, including Vietnam, Prague, Tokyo, and London, where she visited, Lim’s unique approach is intimate and sweet. She says on her website:
"I started the project late 2014 after I realised that with today’s state of the art technology, taking pictures becomes so easy. I wanted something more from my travels, to be able to take back a part of that place with me. When I’m done with a piece, I actually feel like I KNOW that place, and that gives me a huge sense of satisfaction that I think just taking a photo wouldn’t give.”
Although, she admitted to annoying some tourists, we are extremely tempted to try this super lovely technique of collecting memorabilia on our next trip.
