this was supposed to be a christmas gift! lol 😭 but i kept doing amazing things like exporting the textures with one errant white pen dot over the kids hands and other such mistakes that slowed me down considerably. swatch and dl under the cut!!

thanks to @goatskickin 's fun psd they uploaded with this gift of cute cu outerwear, i decided i would try my hand at another clothing recolor! i made 4 mostly patterned recolors. The patterns wrap well and visible pattern seams are only like up in the armpits or other places u won't see often. The neopolitan recolor has a little pink smiley face on the zipper pocket! i hope you guys enjoy them!! pretty sure i got the patterned fabrics from stash fabrics.

mesh and swatch included, i just realized i forgot to compressorize these 🙈 apologies, i guess my xmas gift to you is getting to see the satisfying numbers go down when you compressorize them. UPDATE: folder replaced with compressorized versions!

ive been really busy and wasn't able to finish this in time for halloween! but i hope someone will enjoy these now regardless lol, more details and DL under the cut!

its no secret i like to obsessively pose scenes in sims 2 lol and i edited some various "movie" posters (they aren't real movies obv). I tried to keep them with a pretty true-to-sims-energy style. Some of them have video game energy and could be used in gaming stores too!

the posters come on artig and also surfing the universe for super collection peeps. Idk why I put them on a poster that isn't nearly the same aspect ratio, it made it way harder for no reason lol. The films are:

Blood in the Water (tagline: at the beach...looking like a snack)

Phantom Photo (j horror-inspired, you can prob guess the game! :P)

A Generous Man (a Rod Humble horror movie..whats in the box!!)

Virus Hunters (tagline: the best way to kill a virus...is with a gun)

Game Day (tagline: there's no "I" in scream)

here's how the artig recolors look on various add-ons by @littlelittlesimmies . Sadly as you can see the posters get a bit cut-off on the artig poster add-on because I extended outside of artig's white border and didn't realize they got cut off until late in the process ;_;

i made the artig ones at 1024 originally so included them just in case someone wants hq textures. up close you can tell a difference, but from normal game distance they look essentially the same. So you can pick between 512 or 1024 in the folder.

Yes? Well, tough - here's a collection of small plugins that don't deserve any major fanfare, but that you may still find useful. There's only two of them at the moment, but I'll likely be releasing additional ones once in a blue moon (whenever I find something minor that's bothering me, basically).

This one improves the absolutely disgusting terrain draw distance during cinematics. No idea why they don't just use the draw distance settings you already have applied, but whatever.

I may have shamelessly stolen this idea from TS2 Extender, but I made this for myself to help my sanity while debugging, and to reduce the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome from repeatedly mashing the ESC key. It simply patches out those abrasive intro movies, so you'll never again have to have your ear drums blown out by "SUL SUL!".

The Sims 2's buyable Urbz game that was originally an official download on TheSims2.com has some interesting footage. My notes:

• Animated Urbz logo intro

• The Create an Urb screen resembles the one from the beta trailer, with the Urb in the background wearing the same beta Urb / Kiki Blunt outfit except with Venus Moonflower's hairstyle - And she's actually still in the retail game, she's hiding out of bounds on the screen that's used when you change clothes at a wardrobe instead of a district shop

• The district gameplay footage that follows appears directly related to the Create an Urb footage, since it features Jayde with Scary Mary's hair - Like they actually recorded both parts together rather than splicing random clips

• An earlier design for the Needs & Rep UI, with different icons for the Mood indicator

• Earlier design for the action queue (I think that's what that blue-ish square in the lower right is supposed to be lol)

Also I can't figure out how to extract these video files directly. All other TV show, movie, and game videos are saved as .MOVIE files in the Program Files folder, but I can only assume that all of The Urbz video files & their configuration is contained within that downloadable package file. If they are in there though I'm not sure they're accessible via SimPE, because I sifted through all the components and there wasn't even anything specifically pointing to the video files to tell me where they were, let alone the video files themselves. Maybe I'm just missing something since I'm not super proficient at SimPE though 🤷‍♀️

Download: Expressive Social Bunny (Default Replacement)

This mod adds face blends to the social bunny head mesh, to make some facial expressions possible.

Choose one of two options:

FB_DEFAULT_ExpressiveSocialBunny_Dirty

Only replaces the head. Keeps the original social bunny textures.

The missing left eye has no animations (I know that doesn't follow real life logic but I thought it looked better in this specific case).

Compatibility: It might look alright with some texture defaults. Not compatible with mesh defaults.

FB_DEFAULT_ExpressiveSocialBunny_Clean (Pictured above)

Replaces the head and the social bunny textures. Clean textures (with missing eye restored) are by Phaenoh, I included them because I edited a few pixels around the eyes to make the blinking animation look better.

Both eyes are animated.

Compatibility: Not compatible with texture or mesh defaults.

This is a new menu background for The Sims 2 in @microscotch's style!

This fully compatible with THIS LOADING SCREENS and Starship UI by @simstate!

I created six variations:

I have so many edits to share and Idk where to start, so, why not start with the bare minimum a stove?

This is the halo stove from pet stories (I think this is where I got it from?), but with clear glass! Meant to be used alongside @stinkyunicorn's clear glass defaults and slig's clear windows. This is how it originally looked:

Other edits I know of are @shastakiss' cottage build + roof-thingies, @dramallamadingdang's manor house table and @tvickiesims holy smoke stairs.

Compressed and no mipmaps as usual!

Part two of the '(well now I've) scene it all' series! tees on a maxis mesh using a texture default by @illenlan as a base (though as they suggest, I'd also recommend Cat of evil genius' mesh replacement). The graphics are borrowed from maxis underwear of all things, and the text says 'I'm no angel' on the one with the wings, and 'I want grilled cheese lol' on the one with the squares I'm assuming are sandwiches based on maxis' track record, but really they just look like weird cartoon squares I'd definitely have worn a t-shirt of back in the day aha.

For AF and TF with standalone and repo'd to AF options, comes in 8 Aelia colours!

Another outfit from me that's inspired by some street snaps from my ever-growing and unwieldy Pinterest board, aha. It's always recommending things to me these days. I'd consider this a continuation of my FRUiTS snap series as it's one I've always intended to continue and expand on ^^

These are a recolour of the BG fur coat dress mesh cobbled together of @goatskickin's Lady Tigers edit of some AAS textures, the K&B camisole, the original BG textures + one with the jean skirt from BG. Keiko is inspired by this snap, and Plaza is inspired by this one, though the jumpers certainly make these look more cosy. Banira is more just taking cues from the game textures themselves.

Categorized as casual and outerwear, for YF/AF, no mesh needed, fully compressorized with a PSD in the zip. You can have them standalone or with the bump map repo'd to BG, for which my texture default below is required for them to display as intended in-game.

These replace the texture and bump map, but not the mesh. They also override the property set, though, adding the outfit to outerwear.

Thought I'd take another crack at my 7th heaven skirts, and shoeswapped them again with a retexture of @platinumaspiration's 4t2 Serenity Tai Platforms ^^ Though this time I've also done an option with the maxis sandals, and my new mesh is much more efficient than my previous shoeswap, can be repo'd to maxis textures, and doesn't have the same mapping issues.

Firstly, the skirt with maxis sandals; these are only for AF and OFB is required for the mesh. They're my original 7th heaven textures: 5 denim, 8 corduroy in Curious B colours, and 13 patterns.

Now the shoeswap! Same textures, but on a new mesh with the Tai platforms, retextured a bit to look more like leather than plastic. These are for AF and TF, and you can have them standalone or with TF repo to AF. the mesh comes in at 1548 polys, which is a bit of a saving over the previous mesh which was 2554.

Now, for the afbottomlongskirtsandals DRs, you have options! You can have just the 7th Heaven textures as a texture only default. Or if you wanted just the shoeswap, you could have the mesh default, which is repo'd to the OFB textures (or whatever texture default you have). However, that looked kinda bad with the shadowing around the ankle area, so I've made an edit of the maxis textures that make them display properly with the shoeswap. Lastly, you could combine both the shoeswap and the 7th Heaven textures to get the look in the last row ^^

Ages ago I came across Xander's first date shrugs (T$R), and I really liked the shrugs themselves, but not the tops they're over. Then I had the thought to layer it over Nilou's Bella textures and make it a default for AFTopNaked ◝(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶) ◜♡

I have to admit it took a bit of work to separate out that shrug texture, but I'm really happy with what I came out with, even if it's not my usual style at all! I used Nilou's textures and Artemida's recolours, but edited them a bit for this purpose- I added tights to the skirt (though my tops would also work with the original tights-less skirts!), edited the shoes texture, and edited a bit of the maxis patterns back onto the purple and blue ones, added a bit of it onto the skirt too to make it more like a dress when together, I also added a bit of pattern to the yellow one. I made a 'second date' version of the patterned tops without the shrug. I recoloured the shrugs and the jewellery to match the outfits, but removed the nails and ring texture. AF only, everyday and formal. I popped a PSD in the zip in case anyone wants to do retextures with that shrug without having to cut it out again, aha.

For the defaults, I've marked on the swatch which top replaces which swatch. The tops replace aftopnaked and the skirt replaces afbottomskirttight, they're both only texture defaults so they're compatible with mesh defaults, such as @pforestsims' edit of topnaked which is what I use and is shown in the preview (but the swatch has the maxis mesh).

Hi Goat, I hope you’ve had a good start to the new year!

I want to preface this by saying that I *love* your retextures and how often times you can save a whole mesh with them imo. Many pieces, especially 4t2 ones, are just not it for me texture-wise (I find them too plasticky looking :( ) and I would never have used them in my game if it wasn’t for you. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your awesome retextures!🤍

I wanted to end with asking if you perhaps would be interested in working your magic on Lucilla’s 4t2 conversion of the EP18 Crochet top? The mesh is really nice but those ts4 textures are sadly not. So I thought I’d leave it as a suggestion and see if you were interested. (I was gonna tempt you with that the mesh isn’t too short so it would look cute on grannies as well, but then I realized it’s only available for teens and adults, oh well😆)

But, I'll be more charitable in my view of TS4 textures. After all, I cannot make any retextures of TS4 mesh conversions without the textures that exist in the first place!

When I retexture things like I do, all I am doing is sandwiching new fabric/pattern textures between the existing textures, and then playing with the depth, shadows and contrast. I will edit the 'base' texture sometimes, if needed.

I did convert the EP18 Crochet top to elder though, like you suggested! That was a good suggestion. Thanks for the TS4 conversion @lucilla-sims!

I think that the 24 colors/patterns I have chosen are okay. TBH I struggled with pairing the completed tops with bottoms I felt were appropriate. 🥴

Sims 2 Console Character Concept Art on the Yummers in my Tummers Poster for The Sims 2

So I've got a bunch of textures/screenshots/art piled up that I don't know what to do with. There's some textures in the sims spin-off files that aren't attached to any models (like loading screens) that I would love to make use of. I finally straightened out my CEP situation and got to work on some fun recolors!

I love the drawings of the Sims 2 console characters. I know art exists for Jessie Rose, but I couldn't find a better quality version of it. I did try cropping her out of the Cork It Over Memory Board, but the quality difference was too obvious. I replaced the text with simlish at the top instead as I liked the labels for them! The Urbz TV Channel Couple on the Opus by Rose Grace Wise Frame for The Sims 2

There are 3 TV channels in The Urbz: Sims in the City (they flip through images like The Sims 1) and this couple caught my eye! This frame is so gorgeous, and I really liked the idea when I saw @creesims put my Sims 2 console "You Had Me at What's Up" painting on it, you can find my original conversion here. I felt inspired to put this Urbz texture on there too.

The "You Had Me at What's Up" painting is pretty big, so having the smaller option is nice to have, especially after seeing this early screenshot of it on a similar frame as well:
