I'm back with a new comic, this time featuring the Afton siblings, Michael and Vanessa! I really loved working on this since it's exactly how I imagine their dynamic to be. Hope you guys enjoy it! 💜✨

Michael refuses to acknowledge that his father's cruelty is pointless. He hurts him and Vanessa for a reason, it's out of love, it's to make them stronger so when they fulfill their purpose they'll be "ready". Even though he's terrified and hates being hurt, he tries to rationalize it because if so ... what was it all for? But it's very difficult to do that when Vanessa breaks down or snaps from the constant abuse. He sees the consequences of his father's actions, how the pain he's inflicting has done nothing but break them beyond repair. So, he has to push it. Push his hatred, his fear, the reality. Just so he can believe the wonderous lie that this damage means something. And it'll all be worth it.

It'll all be worth it.

I've always imagined Mrs. Afton taking Michael out for a very late drive as a kid — maybe 12 or 13. Middle of the night, he's so sleepy he passes out in the car; waking up occasionally to traffic or commotion outside. Completely oblivious to his mom planning to leave their family. He asks her what's going on when they stop at certain places he can't remember the name of now and she gives a vague answer. After an hour she decides to drop him off at home, bring him to bed and give him the longest hug ever. She tells him she'll be back soon and he sleeps without second thought.

When he gets up, she's not there. And she never comes back. He even learns that she didn't say goodbye to Vanessa or his father.

The last night he had with her and he can't even remember it properly. And it kills him even to the present because part of him thinks he could have kept her there.

really good and great how at the beginning of the first fnaf movie michael and vanessa are living their worst nightmares while the other is living their dream.

vanessa is kept close to william, unable to exercise any control or agency and is relegated as an extension of william.

michael is (in my mind) banished to do some kind of menial work far away from anyone he's ever cared about, and has the whole center of his universe missing.

vanessa yearns to get away, to somewhere she can be someone else. michael has dreamed of being william's right hand for years. they look at the other living their own fantasies and see their sibling hate it and it's just another thing that builds their resentment.

yeah michael definitely talks like That because growing up he had no friends, and was only around Henry and William, the two most melodramatic men in the state.

Most characters in FNaF ping-pong between speaking casually and formerly based on how dramatic Scott is feeling, but Henry Emily always speaks like he's Rod Sterling and I really hope this never changes.

The FNaF 2 movie novel may be dubious canon and quality, but Charlotte's internal monologue saying she finds all animatronics STUPID and ANNOYING except for the Marionette is great.

Like, Henry is trying desperately to get his daughter to like him after The Divorce™, so he makes an animatronic specifically catered towards her. Giving it a less saturated design, softer materials, and a more quiet and coordinated show. He even puts in a boat ride themed after it and gives it a super special role in performance because she liked it so much.

And in the end Charlotte just thinks : "Wow this puppet animatronic is so cool! :] the other ones suck!!! "

william, when working as steve raglan absolutely brought in those packaged salads from the grocery store for lunch, shook them up (in an obnoxious manner) and ate his loud, crunchy lunch, annoying anyone in the vicinity and took pleasure in both causing displeasure to others and pretending to be a rabbit.
