MY REVIEW:

My brain is scattered in a million, emotional pieces.

Holy f*ck buckets, is all I am able to process at the moment, and I don’t even know where on earth am I to begin with such an ultra-epic follow up to The Pawn. The Pawn was beautifully mastered, in such a mind blowing jaw-dropping, exceptional read and The knight, if it was possible surpassed it. The Knight was everything and then some.

The Knight was an awesome follow-up and started right where The Pawn crippled the readers. Avery is living in a motel and is trying to figure out her next move. Trying to figure out her life, her house, and her father. Everything around this poor girl has fallen apart at her feet and she has not the slightest clue on how to fix anything. Her life is depressing. The level Avery had to drop down too were damn near shameful. Everything she had been through eats away at her soul and brings forth a darkness, that has blinded her from the hope and safety, that shines as bright and blinding as the sun. It doesn’t help that the man she blames for her father’s downfall is crass, manipulative, likes to see her squirming both sexually and when she’s suffering, is like an eclipse in her world. All Avery desperately needs is any security in any shape or form.

Gabriel Miller is one complicated devil, or so it would seem, because this devil has a heart. It’s hidden behind layers and layers of impenetrable walls, but it’s there and beating strong. Despite Avery’s downfall, she’s a fighter and the more she fights and demands the more secrets are revealed. Secrets that threaten everything she has ever known, and despite Gabriel’s warnings, Avery keeps bulldozing for answers.

Every move draws Avery closer to Gabriel. Every move draws out her family’s secret. Every move seems to place her further into a game she has yet to figure out, but one thing she is now certain of, both Gabriel and Avery have lost the game of Chess against each other. They now have another game to play, a game not against each other but they are now forced to battle against an enemy, that threatens more than a cruel game of who can break first. Lives are now at stake.

MY REVIEW:

What an amazing read. Like this author is talented beyond anything, I love her. I also hate her because she made me fall in love with both men.

In this second installment, Katya decides to switch the tables and play the boys like how they screwed with her. Every move Katya makes is to force the boys to feel the pain and hurt that they put her through. She wants them to understand her heartache. Talk about a giant ball of craziness, because not only do Liam and Wulf decide that they will win her over, one way or another, emotions are heated to the point of no return.

Katya starts a destructive game, in which slowly she begins to lose control. Eventually, everyone grows tired of the back and forth, and nothing is going anywhere. The men try to show Katya how sorry they are and Katya refuses to acknowledge them trying. She’s blinded by the pain. She’s holding onto such resentment and inner turmoil, it’s no good for health. Her best friend, gives her some horrible advice. Just do you and have fun. I’m sorry, you can’t do that. Not when Liam’s smile weakens her, or just being in Wulf’s presence unnerves her to the heavens and beyond. That was stupid advice.

And Katya, poor girl. She led everyone down a very dark, and emotional path. By the near end of the book, I was wondering if the author was going to leave it without Katya being in a relationship. Holy drama. The men weren’t winning and neither was Katya. Emotions exploded and words were bitterly unleashed. I think Katya being alone would have been a good ending. Apart from men and sex, and finding peace within herself.

Nevertheless, the ending was utterly perfect. Katya followed her heart and honestly, for me, I kinda knew who she was going to pick. Her heart has always been with a certain man.(I dont wanna giveaway any spoilers).

I hated how the author spoon feeds you all their insecurities with the characters and you start to understand all their pains and why they act a certain way. AGH. But, in the end, I admire Katya, Wulf and Liam because, despite everything, they’ve still somehow managed to stay friends.

This story was painfully ah-mazing.

Crazy woman from an undisclosed location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since …, forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball – I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I’m clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there’s your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair – both a curse and a blessing – and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can’t understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

My Review

I have never read a God book before. Nothing about Greek Gods, or anything close. This was my first and I loved it. Ares, Yes!!! He was a man after my heart, he was dark, sexy, brooding and I wanted to devour him. Ares and his brothers are all assigned a door to protect, all around the world. Ares is assigned the New York door and he protects it against Demons that want to enter from the human world.

In the beginning of the book, there is one particular Demon that gives Ares a hard time. The Demon steals Ares’s fire and during this same fight, our innocent heroine Megan is dragged into this battle. She ends up saving Ares, and gets further pulled into the chaotic world of Gods.

One thing that I love about Felicity’s books is that they are so fleshed out. Everything is covered, and she leaves no rock unturned.

As I digress, Ares and Megan have an instant attraction. Ares without his fire has mixed feelings about his missing powers. On one hand, his power is all he knows. It’s like if you were suddenly missing a limb. Ares knows that it just doesn’t feel right, but there’s another part of him that feels relieved. In the human world, his fire powers manifest based on his emotions. In the Underworld, his powers aren’t as intense to manifest based on his emotions. In the underworld, he has more control over his fire abilities.

Now, his fire abilities have been stolen and although Ares knows that he needs to get it back, his brothers urge him that he needs to get his abilities back; Ares can’t help feeling excited that he can actually touch someone without burning them. Yes, it’s been centuries since he has been able to touch ANYONE. Not even his own brother’s who are God’s just like him. Which also means, a women’s touch he hasn’t experienced in centuries and guess what, Megan just happens to be in his house.

I really enjoyed this book. However, there wasn’t much dialogue between the characters. You knew what Ares was thinking and Megan, because half of the book was inner dialogue and thoughts. I didn’t mind the sex scenes and it wasn’t overdone. Keep in mind, Ares hadn’t had a woman in centuries. From his perspective, indulging in sex whenever he gets the chance with a woman who just happens to be tangled in his world, why not.

As the story progresses, the world is revealed, giving the readers more insight into what is going on. You aren’t left in the dark, and you meet all of the brothers. They were all interesting Gods, and you can tell an awesome series is on the horizon.

My Review

First, I will begin to state that going into this book, I thought it would have been something COMPLETELY different. Like, a regular dark romance. Even reading the author’s warning at the beginning of the book had me a little worried and I still thought, okay, it may be more crass, than other dark romances. I wasn’t clueing in. I didn’t read any reviews previously, so I went in blindly like the author suggested.

Secondly, this book is not for the faint of heart. The pages are filled with none stop trigger’s and if you’re sensitive, move on.

My God, this book, Yeo and Kady, I don’t know if there are words. I am seriously having a hard time to find a way to summarize my review, without giving away too much. On a quick note, I couldn’t but this book down.

As I digress, Kady had a horrible life. A life that no one should have to endure, and you can just tell how broken our main girl is. You can see how life has rendered her fragile, timid and utterly broken. So broken and sad, and you can’t help but want to reach out and hold her. The writing is very vivid and it’s pretty easy to picture everything like you were watching a movie.

From the beginning, you understand how Kady lives. She doesn’t have much and tries to get by as best as possible. She teaches kids in the neighborhood how to play the piano, and while reading Whispers And The Roars, there’s something whispering in the back of your head. You hear the whispers, you hear them loud and clear, letting you know that something isn’t right. Kady is off, and you’re just waiting for that ‘something’ to happen, to prove those faint words, those faint whispers true.

Throughout the read, Kady will tell you certain things. Nothing too revealing and certain situations may jump out at you, and even Yeo will say certain things to have your brain reeling and trying to really figure out our main girl.

In the beginning of the book and somewhere about 50% of the read, you think you know. You think okay, I’m understanding Kady and Yeo. I know certain situations for me, were like an ‘okay, sure’ moment. I wasn’t sure how I felt when certain things happened, I was trying to make it, make sense in my head. Trying to understand Yeo and Kady, but then the authors tosses a serious curve ball and the book changes.

Trust me, what you think you know up until that 50% point, changes drastically.

After the changing point in the novel, I was emotionally gutted. I was in tears reading what Kady did to protect herself. To shield herself from her father. It broke my heart into a million pieces.

There were a lot of flashbacks that helped you to understand Kady and Yeo. They helped the reader to understand Yeo’s and Kady’s never dying love for each other. Those flashbacks warmed my heart and saddened me at the same time. Their love was so unique and pure, and you couldn’t help but to love them together. You could feel how much they both needed each other. Yes, Kady was the one with the many problems and she couldn’t survive without Yeo. You could honestly feel her emotions bleeding into your soul when it came to Yeo. He was her everything. Her all and it damn near killed her when she sent him away 12 years ago. Kady believed that she was toxic and in all honesty, she is, or can be.

Here’s a perfect quote from the book, it describes our main girl to the tee.

“You are terrifying and strange and beautiful, something not everyone knows how to love.”

Yeo, OMG. He needed Kady just as much as she needed him. What a man to take on such a beautiful broken girl. Against his better judgment, Yeo heeds Kady’s plea’s 12 years previous and goes away to university. Now into the present, Yeo graduated and he’s a doctor and wants to settle down with his lady. Yeo, is one hell of a man. 12 frickn’ years! Granted, he didn’t stay away completely, he still came around to check in on her, but Kady had her friends to distract Yeo while she hid from him. From her overwhelming emotions. Yeo had been her first love since they were kids, and so although she sent him away, she couldn’t deal properly.

Honestly, reading this book, my brain was hurting with, and for Kady. She’s so much. So overwhelming with emotions. Highs and lows. You just never knew what mood she was going to be in. It made me anxious reading, not knowing what would set her off in this scene, or that. It could be the simplest of things, and she’s gone in her mind.

“Kady. Kady. Kady.”

“He’s calling for me, but i’m drowning. His whispers are drowned out by the goddamned roars.”

He roars, “KADY! KADY! KADY!”

His deep voice rumbles right through me and cuts through the haze of my mind as if he’s wielding a knife.

The ‘Kady. Kady. Kady’ parts of the story felt really eerie to me and I don’t know why.

Anywho, this book was written exceptionally well and you should read it. I tried to say everything without saying too much. READ THIS BOOK!

My Review

This book was a short, hot and sweet read all in one.

Jasmine our main girl is at a bar, and she expresses that her husband and her, are having problems in their marriage. She’s at a bar seeking something new and exciting and just wants to experience some kind of burning desire, so she can return back to her husband a new woman.

Soon, a man comes into the bar and Jasmine sets her sights on the handsome stranger and I don’t want to say anything more without giving away the plot, but this novella has much going on in the few pages. The author had honestly put a smile on my face by the end of this book. Warm fuzzies.

Trying Sophie was a fun, emotionally charged read.

Declan and Sophie had known each other briefly when they were younger. Declan made sure to make Sophie’s life a living hell while she was in Ireland and although years have passed, Sophie has never forgotten that boy who made her childhood the worst.

Years later, Declan is a famous Rugby star and Sophie travels the world and has a popular blog. Both of them have their own career’s and their own fame and fortune. Both of them have their own perfect little lives, but little do they know what life has in-store.

Sophie returns back to Ireland to help her grandparents and guess who’s picking her up at the airport? Declan. Declan and all of his sexiness, which Sophie tries her hardest to ignore and bury deep down. But that ain’t happening with egotistically Rugby player. The sweet guy with the charming smile, down to earth personality despite his fame, knows what he wants and he will not stop until Sophie is his.

Trying Sophie was all kinds of sweetness. This book had a little bit of everything; family, friends and of course love. All sorts of drama pooled in from all sides, but not for no reason. Feelings got hurt, miscommunication and trusting issues were the least of what these characters went through, and came out stronger. It was a realistic captivating read.

MY REVIEW:

Reaching the ending of the book, my fingers gripped my e-reader so tight, I thought it was going to crack. I couldn’t believe I had gotten to Ms. Warren’s ending blurb, while my heart was free falling and trying to make sense of what had just happened between Gabriel and Avery.

Oh my GWAD!

To say this took my emotional stability and F*cked me right up, would be an understatement. Like, standing ovation to an awesome author. I love this woman.

Oh my, The Pawn was a brilliant, beautiful read that was so much more complex than just two people falling in love, through whatever circumstances. And that’s the thing, I assumed this book would be like another one of ‘those’ reads. Dark brooding alpha male. Heroine gets trapped in alpah’s web and then a hop, skip and jump later someone’s heart is on display. At the end of the day, I knew I was going to like this book on some level or another because I mean come on, it’s Skye, but I didn’t expect this book.

In the beginning, Avery’s father is throwing her an extravagant high school graduation party, inviting everyone in their rich society. The next chapter, a year or so has passed and Avery’s family has hit rock bottom. Avery’s father had been a dirty and dishonest business man, and those who had suffered by his cheating hands took their revenge on him in court and physically.

Everything was taken from Avery and her father, leaving them broke and her father unable to even bath, let alone feed himself. Bills are coming from everywhere, draining their accounts, to the point she has to sell everything in her house to attempt to keep up with the bill payments. Or let alone pay for her father’s health care. Avery has hit rock bottom with her father barely conscious and everyone leaving her side, including her boyfriend.

Who can she turn to? No one will help. Everyone she and her father thought were friends all bailed on them, the moment things got tough.

Seeing only one way out of the financial despair, Avery goes to the only loan shark in town that will have the substantial funds to keep her afloat. There she meets Gabriel Miller. A powerful man that her father had screwed over, and he made sure to make an example out of him. Which ultimately led to their accounts being bled dry.

Gabriel Miller was responsible for Avery’s father losing everything. He was responsible for Avery not being to afford her lavish lifestyle. And, most importantly, he was responsible for Avery having to bargain the only thing of worth that she had left- Her virginity.

The pawn was raw, undeniably sexy and heart-wrenchingly enticing. It was hard for me to break away from this book, to tend to my daily responsibilities. Gabriel was a man of mystery and still is, especially after what Avery’s father did to him, his actions have you thinking and guessing. He’s being nice, but why? Avery is the daughter of the man who screwed him over, so why the pleasantries? Why the little actions, to play with the heart-strings? Why the small gestures of sympathy? He teased hope in front of Avery, showed her pieces of himself that made her believe. Is he that much of a monster?

“You need to keep your defenses up with someone like me. That means staying sober, for starters. Sleeping with a knife under your pillow won’t hurt.”

That was Gabriel’s warning to Avery. To let her know where she should stand, but then his actions show the complete opposite in the next few pages. Orchestrating her walls to decline. Was this all part of the game he was playing? Not only going after her Vcard but also something more dangerous, just to humiliate her and watch her fall even harder. Is he that much of a cold bastard? Is messing with Avery’s mind, body and soul his ultimate revenge?

There were parts in The Pawn, I literally felt Avery’s fear of the unknown, of the darkness that is Gabriel Miller. They seeped into my blood, and ran cold just like hers. Tears stung my eyes, feeling Avery’s anxious nerves, and I am no way a virgin, but Ms. Warren’s writing was beautifully crafted in such a way that had collided with that innocent part of myself. Every intense and intimate scene between Avery and Gabriel cut deep into my soul.

“I’m not a monster, despite what you think. I could have had you. Could have forced your hand even then. But I wanted you to come to me.”

And then Gabriel says stuff like this, and you don’t know what to think. Yet the one question remains, what does Gabriel Miller want from Avery. There is an unspoken overcast between the two of them, more so from Gabriel, but you don’t get those answers. Especially not in this book, which had me tapping away in serious denial, upon reaching the end.

The Pawn, what a suited name for this book and characters.

UGH.

Hold Me Down picks up right where the 4th Installment, Drive Me Wild ends.

From the moment Star met Noah, she has been thrown into a chaotic fast paced life. Not that her life before was perfect, to begin with. Noah offers her protection, and attention, which drives her wild with lust and scares her at the same time.  The club Noah is a part of has been through it’s up and downs, and Stars finds out who took Noah’s sister. Star needs to get this information to Noah before, or if they walk into a trap.

Star before was questioning her fast growing feelings toward Noah, and his MC friends. The harsh bittersweet way he treats her at times was enough to make her question her life with him going forward. It didn’t help that after everything, she didn’t know if Noah was going to live or die, without knowing his true feelings. I liked to see her grow through the circumstances and find her inner strength.

She found her inner strength, despite everything bad in her life. I think through Noah’s strength Star was able to borrow a little of that power to manifest in herself.

In this installment, we see a softer side to Noah, and I think he see’s the new fighter strength that Star as gained. I believe it even gives Noah more respect for the girl he had literally shoved into his life. Maybe, in the beginning, he wanted someone more passive and wouldn’t speak out against him too much. But Star proved to be much more than that by the end of the book. I loved it.

A King needs a strong Queen after all.

Reading Honor, I didn’t know what to expect because I hadn’t read anything from this author before. With this novel being a standalone, I wasn’t confused, even though it was a part of a series. Yes, there were some characters from other books obviously, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The author lightly lets you know their past history and relationship.

Upon reading, and previously hearing everyone making such an excited fuss about Honor, I had to buy it. Not to mention the cover is pretty sexy, and the summary pulls you right in. However, I will say, I expected more and got less.

Keelyn Foster was a stripper in The Point. Nassir Gates has seen too much and has been through hell and back. I mean that literally, being born in the Middle East and being forced into combat. Constantly seeing blood and death, it became a part of who he was.

Nassir meets Keelyn in his first visit to The Point and from there, he knows she is the only woman for him. The only problem, he has nothing to offer her. A few years later, Nassir Gates has taken over The Point with an iron fist. No one will think twice about messing with Nassir because of his dangerous reputation. And if anyone did think twice, they better run for the hills.

Keelyn escaped The Point when something bad happened to her. She decided enough was enough, and she left behind the only home she has ever known and Nassir. The man she clearly loved for years, although nothing has ever happened between the two of them. Keelyn was afraid of Nassir’s power, and intensity. Afraid that if she gave into him, she would become conquered, much like how Nassir took over The Point with a blink of an eye. She didn’t want to be conquered, owned and put on a pedestal. She was afraid if that happened, she would lose herself. And after everything, with stripping on a pole and dealing with many men, that was what she fought to protect; her identity, her freedom.

Nassir Gates was a man who knows what he wants. He took over The Point and in one sense made it better, but it was still a dangerous place to live. He was considered the Devil because he ruled with extreme force, no mercy. His word was the law, and if you went against him, get on your knee’s and repent.

When Keelyn leaves The Point, Nassir isn’t too happy. He has gone out of his way to make The Point a safe place for the only lady he has ever loved, yet still the inevitable happens to force Keelyn’s choice to leave. In a last attempt to bring her back home where she belongs, Nassir decides to create a club and name it after her stripper name ‘Honor’. Now, this club is not a normal club, it’s a sex club for only the elite of the society, and he wants Keelyn to help him run it.

Nassir who has been technically stalking Keelyn since she left, decides to go to her place of work, and propose the partnership to the business. And when I say stalking, I mean paying someone to keep an eye on her, and hacking into her bank accounts and whatever else to make sure that she is okay.

To a normal person, yes, that is stalking. But for Nassir Gates, there is nothing he will not do ensure Keelyn’s safety. When you look at it from his perspective, it’s sweet, kind of-ish.

Keelyn decides to take Nassir up on his offer and returns back home. Now, this is where things get a little fuzzy for me. I liked this book, it was a good read, but I couldn’t figure out where the storyline was going for a while. A lot of parts dragged, and I was waiting for something big to happen because Nassir was a man of many enemies.

Keelyn and Nassir had a back and forth dance, that got annoying. Keelyn fought every step of the way, and even after accepting his offer she still fought. However, somewhere in the story, she begins teasing him to make him crack. Which didn’t make sense because she stayed away from Nassir for years, and was afraid of him and everything he had to offer. For me, it wasn’t clear when Keelyn decided taking that step wouldn’t be so bad.

Anywho, what I really enjoyed about this book was how Keelyn was Nassir’s Conscience. She made him a better man, and I enjoyed seeing the softer sides to him. This book was very deep in the sense that Nassir was considered the Devil and showed little to no mercy. He didn’t give anyone a second chance, he wasn’t a ‘Real Boy’ like how Chuck described him. Which is perfect to describe Nassir. This book was deep on another level because Honor showed you how The Devil got a slight sliver of redemption.

He was learning through his love for Keelyn, and his friend Chuck on how to be a ‘Real Boy’. How to act normal, how to give chances, and forgive. For every action, there is an equal reaction. Before that, he didn’t understand an eye for an eye. Nassir Gates was more like you take my eye, and I’ll take your eye your wife, first born and soul. Throughout this novel, you witnessed that change. It didn’t happen all at once, which was realistic.

I expected raw, ruthless, alpha male and got something a little more tamed. I blame the summary for that. I expected to witness more wrath from the Devil. Instead, we were told but weren’t shown. You got small glimpses, you felt the fear from other characters who were familiar with Nassir Gates. Other reader’s who followed this series would know Nassir Gates and what that means, but saying this is a standalone, and new reader’s coming in on this book, his reputation didn’t stand out.

As I digress, a nice read for the time.

Neighbors was Ah-Mazing!

A well-developed book, and I’m not just talking about the story line. The characters and the writing was ah-mazing. I absolutely adored this book and found a new favorite author.

Katya is our main girl. By the way, I like the name. It was different.

So, Katya is a baker and creates a dating profile to get back into the dating scene after her boyfriend broke up with her. Katya is a proper lady and was raised to treat her body with respect, dress a certain way and act a certain way. After she leaves one morning for work, her best friend decides that Katya is too boring and decides to spice up her profile.

Liam, a guy that lives in the building beside Katya’s, has seen her around and thought she was cute but didn’t want to pursue anything because of how innocent she looked. However, upon seeing her profile Liam thinks that his innocent church girl is a naughty lady and wants to talk to her.

Next thing you know, Liam approaches Katya and from talking to her, Liam realizes that she isn’t who her profile portrayed her to be. Katya feeling annoyed that Liam judged her based off of her well refined style, decides to prove him wrong. She goes on a date with him, and wanting to prove to him that she’s adventurous and wild, things get sexy and out of hand.

The following day, she meets an old neighbor Wulfric, from her past and he asks her out on a date. Katya agrees and with her new-found confidence, from there things once again get sexy real fast.

Let me tell you, this book was exceptional. The characters were so on point and I found Katya’s journey into figuring out her sexuality interesting. She was exploring and having fun. What’s wrong with that? Nothing. But the way that Katya grew up, you shouldn’t do stuff like that. You could tell what her mother taught her, was really weighing in on her choices with Liam and Wulfric. She was internally struggling to accept her sexuality and talking to two men.

I didn’t mind Katya’s insecurities. They were realistic, they weren’t annoying. I don’t know if her insecurities should be labelled as such, ‘insecurities’. She was brought up a certain way, and at 23 years old is just now figuring out her body. Katya doesn’t understand why Liam and Wulfric like her, other than what her best friend tells her and that is; she looks innocent enough for men to want to defile her.

She has never had the kind of attention that she gets from the boys, and so I completely understand her awe-struck wonder in their interest in her. During Katya’s journey, she ends up falling for one of the men, of course. It is not a love triangle story, in the traditional sense. If you don’t like those types of books, then you don’t have to worry.

One man Katya falls for and the other becomes her best friend. It’s really interesting to see how both men intertwine into her life.  Both men she starts to care deeply for and they are sooooo different. Wulfric is complex, and closed off and Liam is playful and carefree.

Katya complimented both guys, way too well. Liam just understood her, they had an instant crazy relationship. And Wulfric, well, he kept Katya around like a play toy. A science experiment. Something that interested him, and he didn’t understand why. He was a frustrating person, because he was sooooo closed off it, and Katya was slowly prying him open. I will admit that a lot of his scenes were crazy intense, and once she got him to lower his walls a little, oh my, I wanted to root for him.

Any who, on the other hand, I don’t really understand why Katya was so enchanted with Wulfric. I think she liked him because of how dominate he was with her. She was very submissive, and I think with her new found sexuality she didn’t mind taking orders.

She was the student and he was the teacher.

Katya was on a journey.

I honestly liked both boys. They each, to me, had their own unique qualities that  I didn’t mind. Wulfric, oh gee’s read this book. I understood his issue’s in life. Yes, he was an asshole. And honestly, the way Katya and him happened, I mean you can’t expect much from their relationship. It is what it is. But, still, as the story continued you got to see more of a softer side to him. His soft sides, for me, I wouldn’t say would win me over in anyway shape or form. He has too much walls, too much of a gigantic stick up his, you know where.

But I liked him, nonetheless. He showed Katya new and exciting things in life. Liam as well, they both had a part in Katya’s growth as a woman. Helped her blossom into a confident young lady. You could see in the past month, hanging out with the men, how much she changed. How she stood up for herself when it counted.

Liam, oh, Liam. He was just sweetness. He was Mr. Perfect, no judging. I’ll take you that extra step, and swoon you until the end of time. Honestly, I loved him. Hands down, no ifs ands, or buts about it.

Liam I loved instantly, and Wulfric grew on me.

Don’t get me started on the ending, my GWAD. Okay, let me say this book ends on a cliff hanger and it will kill you. I mean, what was revealed with Liam’s business! I thought so, I had a small tiny thought in the back of my mind and I pushed it away because I was like, how would that make sense?

And then BAM! In your face.

My heart cried for Katya. That was horrible and I won’t say much because I don’t like spoilers. This book already destroys your emotions; you don’t know what to do with Katya. One minute you think, she will pick Liam. Then Wulfric happens, and then your back-thinking Liam.

Wulfric, Liam?

Which team do you play on?

UGH!!!!!!!

And that evil ending, will leave you with your jaw dropped and eyes popping out of your head. It took me a few days to gather my thoughts and write this review.

AGH.

Any who, there is sex, and language meant for 18+

I hope there is a part two in the near future.

Upon reading One Last Kiss, I couldn’t help but to continue the story. I absolutely adore Linda and Jackson. They are such an easy going couple, and fun to see them interacting, but of course we need the drama.

Linda is a very frustrating woman. My goodness. She has all these insecurities and doesn’t believe that Jackson wants her and only her. She keeps throwing around their social and financial differences, like OMG, stop. If I could reach into the my phone and shake some senses into her, I would have.

All Jackson literally wants is Linda. No strings attached, no motives, no secrets. Just all of Linda. Mind, Body and soul. Omg, frustration times 1000 with Linda. Jackson was sent from heaven, and all Linda can do is think of ways to cause him heart ache. I know she’s not doing it on purpose, but still.

Jackson Parker, have I mentioned that I love him. He is perfection. That man is honestly the prefect, fictional boyfriend any girl could ask for.

Anyways, another cliff hanger. AGH.

Why does Linda do what she does!!!!!! >_<

What an encounter.

One Last Kiss is OMG, and full of sweetness, it would give anyone a cavity. I’m swooning after I finished this book. I’m melting and I don’t know how to crawl my way out of the nectarous bubble that is Jackson Parker.

Jackson f*cking Parker, is perfection. He’s rich, sweet and did I say perfection.

PERFECTION.

Any who, Linda is a college student who dates rock stars in hopes that one day she may stumble upon her famous father, who she hasn’t seen since she was a little girl. At a Halloween party, she finds her boyfriend cheating on her and so she decides to ditch him at the party.

Walking along the beach, to find her way home, Linda stumbles upon a drunken man. Against her better judgement, she helps this drunken man home to find out that he is a legend in his own rights. Jackson Parker, is known by many for his talents.

From that point, this story takes a very intense turn that has Linda’s head spinning, but all in a good way. Jackson Parker believes that everything happens for a reason. He doesn’t allow just anybody, and anybody in his bed. And most importantly, Jackson Parker believes that Linda has fallen into his life for a reason, and not just to end up beneath him.

Linda has decided to stay in Jackson’s life, because she believes that he will be able to find her father. Lucky for her, Jackson has taken an interest in the young college student, and enjoys her company. And OMG, the swoon factor in this book is over the charts.

Jackson was such a patient, sweet guy. Nothing about his actions, was crude or mean toward Linda. He took his time, he showed her and told her always what he wanted. He didn’t treat her how all other rock stars treated Linda, and he showed her nothing but respect.

Linda on the other hand, thought that Jackson’s sweet actions were going to fade in time. She was just some fling and once Jackson gets Linda out of his system, he would move on. There’s a lot of emotional baggage that Linda carries with her. Jackson has his own baggage, but he handles it differently. Jackson has a very positive outlook on life. Most of the times, Linda describes his personality as boyish and that’s because Jackson is very carefree and playful. He doesn’t let much hold him back in a negative way, and he’s very patient when Linda is purposely pushing buttons, because of her guards.

I loved the carefree relationship between Linda and Jackson.

And now I’m on to read the next installment.

MY REVIEW:

This book left me thinking, confused, yet enthralled with every word Kitty had me reading. It was an amazing read for me, tantalizing, dark and sexy. However, this book isn’t a romance in anyway shape or form.

Maybe, it might have been if things worked out, but the further this book pulled me in, the more I realized that Blood Mate isn’t gonna provide me with that happy ending. I didn’t mind that. I’m not a stickler for HEA’s.

If HEA’s are your thing, then move on.

I have never read this author before. I bought this book, stumbling upon it through amazon and reading some reviews, I decided to buy it. I like to dabble in dark romances, but I tend to keep  them at arms reach. I’m very picky about that genre, and which authors I read.

As I digress, this book will take you on a ride. Not just in the angst and drama, but mentally. Holy crap this book is a mind trip. If I didn’t have responsibilities, I would have read this book in one setting. It flows wonderfully, and Kitty’s has a way to string words beautifully together to keep you tethered in her characters.

August, my oh my. My heart really ached for this vampire. By the way this different approach to the vampire species was an interesting one. I enjoyed it. Any who, August. Yes, that Vampire has a painful curse. Literally. August is cursed to kill and suffer the pain of his victims each night until he can find the one woman who can resist his thrall, his blood mate.

But what happens when his blood mate is happily married and has no intentions of leaving her husband? Let that question sink in your mind for a while. What lengths will a vampire go to claim his happiness he has longed for, for centuries? For a chance to end his suffering?

Nicole, my heart ached for her as well. Honestly, who could blame Nicole for all her doubts and actions? Wouldn’t you do the same thing? Wouldn’t you think the same crazy thoughts as her, if August stumbled into your life and told you his curse and what he is. I think a lot of us ladies would do exactly what Nicole did in Blood Mate.

I don’t want to say much because of spoilers, and the ending will have you with your jaw dropped in utter confusion about everything you just read, but honestly, Blood Mate F*cked my mind, inside and out. It’s a must read.

Wow. Omg, I have only read one book by this author and that was the first installment to Vampire Erotic Theathre Romance Series. But now, I think i’m going to be returning and reading the back list of novels to the Eternal Mates Paranormal Romance Series. I loved this book.

Haunted by The King of Death, was about Grave whose being constantly torment by his mate who betrayed him. The mark creates this mark on his back, and he’s spent over a century away from Isla(Grave’s Mate), hating her and thinking of plenty of ways to make her pay.

Isla is a phantom who sought revenge on the man who killed her brother-in-law, but in seeking revenge on the Vampire, she feel in love with him.

Now, a century later something has happened to bring these two lovers back together and forcing them to put their hate and dislike aside to work in unison. My goodness, I had no idea how on earth that would have played out. The readers get spoon fed the information, and a lot is kept hidden in the beginning. But as the story unfolds, more and more feelings and emotions are revealed.

Haunted By The King Of Death was an exciting read that kept you on your toes.

Bad Boy Daddy is a thrilling romantic story that is raw and full of passionate love. The kind of the love that shatters you straight down to your core, but it isn’t sweet and heart-melting in a romantic kind of way.

It’s rough, raw and real. Three wonderful R’s.

It’s utterly captivating how two people have smashed together and somehow found a kind of love, that so many people in real life envy. It’s a once in a lifetime kind of love. It’s an All-Or-Nothing, kind of love. A kind of love that was disguised, and hidden and Faith wouldn’t have found such an intense flame, if she had looked the other way and ignored her pull toward Jackson. If she cowered away from his fervency, from the connection she felt tugging on the deepest parts of her soul, from the moment she met him the very first time.

Call if coincidence, and or faith. But little did she know how serious he was, how Jackson had met the blinding Big Bang- the strike of Cupid, and I was surprised that he didn’t throw Faith over his shoulders like a caveman, and drag her away into the vineyards of his homeland.

Little did Faith trust those same electrifying feelings, breathing through her veins, and instead she denied herself the chance of a life time. Now, lucky her, life chose to bless her with that same chance again, a few months later. It was at a point when she really needed help and this time around she jumped right into faith. Faith might not have looked at it like that in the beginning, but she took that chance, she took the leap blindly.

Jackson sinks his teeth into Faith, literally and metaphorically. He decides that the only way for Faith to be safe is to kill the ex-boyfriend and his gang members, so no one will come after them- ever. However, despite his feelings toward Faith, maybe it’s also because his father had just died and death does weird things to people, he needs something in return from Faith. He needs a payment. Something that you don’t ask just any, and any woman you sleep with.

Now, I will admit my only small, really tiny hiccup with the book was that I wanted to see the weakness, with Jackson with how he felt. We the readers were told, but I wanted to see his actions unfold, on a more softer level. I know he went after Faith’s ex to prove that, and that was a man thing to do. Jackson was all caveman after all, and with the author being male, and maybe with Jackson that would be completely out of character. I dunno. But for me, that would have made this book a five star easily. If we got the small, sliver of weakness to show Faith, and I’m saying this as a woman, on behalf of Faith. She accepted his caveman ways, but a TLC goes a long way. Just saying.

Any who, this story was about a kind love so rare, and about taking chances. Risking your life and living. This story was about being devoted and trusting with all your heart. It sounds insane when you read the story, some may even roll their eyes at the events that took place, but if you look at a deeper level where the author was trying to take the story and for me, I saw it, I got it and understood it. I loved it.

If you’re the kind of person, who likes more softness intertwined into your stories, then skip this book. Yes, it does have love and hot, raw passion so many wished they had in their lives, but it isn’t anywhere near romantic, exactly.

I’m onto to read the next book =)

This book hands down, has made my top favorite books of 2016 and we’re just a little over the halfway point.

Predator is dark and complex, and if you like your books farting fluffy, rainbows and butterfly unicorns, then this book ain’t for you. My goodness gracious, I devoured this book within two days. Predator, my oh my, where do I even begin?

Predator began fast, and hard. Straight from the beginning, you’re tethered right into the story, needing answers, but you don’t get many answers. Or none at all, until maybe the ending of the book, but still, Predator had so much going on, you wouldn’t even miss those answers. For me, by the time the ending was all pulling together, I was like, ‘Oh, right! Who wants to kill you Cara?‘

As I digress, I will admit, I didn’t have any hopes for this book, I assumed the worst and it turned out to be the complete opposite. Any who, Cara is 18 years old, fresh out of high school and is as innocent as they come. She’s hanging out with her parents before she takes that first step into adult life and goes away to university. But, something goes terribly wrong and before she knows it, her parents are dead and she’s waking up in hospital.

Uncle Tom, her only remaining family member, visits Cara and tells her to run, and never look back. He gives her money, new ID’s and leaves her alone to survive. Cara, manages to do exactly what she was told. She doesn’t stay too long anywhere, she doesn’t make friends, or have any boyfriends. She keeps to herself and does the best she can with the cards that was dealt. And all the while, not knowing why she’s running, and from whom?

This story took a very nasty turn from here on out. It was a rollercoaster of emotions. And it was very different than what I thought. I loved it. This is what I love about really good books, I love seeing the characters grow and change. Especially for me, it’s one the best parts to look back on their journey and you sit there like ‘Damn’ you literally went through hell and back. And I mean that literally, Cara went through the fiery pits of hell and back out scorched and pained but she managed to pull through.

There were sometimes, I was doubting her sanity, but Cara is a fighter, and Predator aka Damien, he is a beast. A predator on a mission.

I was curious about him from the start. The Author spoon fed us information, but still there was information missing that all came together in the end. And there is so much that I want to say, but won’t because I’m trying hard not to give away spoilers. But I loved this book. Buy it!

I loved this story. I thought it was different, in the sense that the boy wasn’t running after the girl. In the beginning, we meet our three main characters. Drew, Jason and Ellie. They are kids, and we see where their relationship started.

Now, fast forward a few years later and Drew, Jason and Ellie are all grown up and I feel like we were dropped right in the middle of a nuclear explosion. Drew and Jason have started their own band, and in order to help raise them to fame, their manager wants to concoct this story that the brothers are fighting with each other.  Create drama, get on headlines, and claim fame.

As the story unfolds, you find out secrets about the trio. Hidden dark secrets that have all three of them broken, and damaged. I will admit, in the beginning I was thinking that this book was going to be a love triangle, but it doesn’t exactly go like that. Which I really appreciated.

Ellie isn’t in the band, but has a really close relationship with both brothers, despite all the past drama and my goodness, all that she had to endure for those boys was amazing. The boys, however, didn’t take her for granted. They appreciated her and everything she has done for them. She was like their backbone, for good and bad. She was like one of them, they needed her and vice versa. But then, something happens to rupture their already fragile ground supporting them and even more Hell breaks loose. This story has drama coming at you from all places. You have old drama from the past, now being brought in the future and you have current drama. I really enjoyed this story, you honestly never knew what was going to happen.

Drew my goodness, he was a man with so much riding on his shoulders. He was strong and tried his best to do right by his brother. You honestly wanted only the best for that man. Jason, had all the problems of a classic rock star. He was the person, who constantly gets in so much trouble, and falls flat on his face, but still manages to get up without a bruise, and you wonder, WTF!?

Ellie, I think had too much love for those boys. The amount of crap Jason put that girl through, my mind was blown. I don’t why she stayed for so long, enduring everything but Love, makes you do crazy things. She Ellie had a never-ending supply for both boys, but eventually, one love, for one boy overcame them all.

This was an amazing story. It had everything from learning to trust, dealing with bottled-up emotions. Family drama, jealousy and just the right touch of romance.
