Realised I should probably update my pinned post so here it is. I’ve used tumblr since it’s early days however this isn’t my first account. I made this one initially for The Devil Judge, but stuck with it cuz there isn’t a fandom space like tumblr.
I do like writing but haven’t in awhile due to a lack of inspiration, but you’ll find numerous character or Tv analysis here. I love to waffle.
The scene at Ilya was what i live for as an angst enjoyer.
The smile Ilya get after thinking him and Shane are on the same page after saying each others names, and then going to kiss Shane and him not even fully registering Shane is pulling back, not until it’s too late. And it’s probably the first time in awhile that their not aligned, or see each other.
And then Shane gets up and gives a lie as clear as a window (just to be followed up with the dinner scene with his mother saying he’s not a liar but that’s all he knows, with his rivalry and sexuality).
The First ‘Hollander’ is a this doesn’t have to change any thing. It’s said in the same tone Ilya has discussed their hook ups before. It’s everything they have already agreed to. And i think this stops Shane for a second, cuz it is comforting it’s familiar. But it’s the second ‘Hollander’ that seals the deal. It’s Ilya’s vulnerability and second non-confession confession of the day that forces Shane to withdraw because it’s too real, too much of a mirror to himself and his loss of control. And he’s trying to convince himself that he still has this under control and he doesn't have to acknowledge anything.

Many people have commented and pointed out how Buck and Eddie are using other people to express their own thoughts i.e. Buck talking to Harry being a reflection of him and moving out, Eddie using Abigail to express his strained (and definitely confused) relationship with God.
I know some people are using this as an argument that something must have happened between them, but I would like to argue that it’s evidence of the opposite. Take it from me, with a deeply avoidant attachment style (I’m working on it), Buck moving out early is 101 in shutting things down before they even have a chance to exist (we can argue it had been existing long enough) or a better word perceived.
In the conversation with Harry, he points out leaving that walking away doesn’t hurt any less than having it taken away. And you could see it solely as a Buddie take i.e. Buck hurting as he rather ‘accept’ nothing will more will exist between him and Eddie, than accept his feelings and let Eddie reject him and ruin their friendship. Or see it as the above but with the addition of leaving Eddie’s house didn’t hurt any less than Eddie leaving to go to Texas.
It also feels so weird because this is the first we see Buck being the one to pull away, despite it being obvious for us viewers that he find joy in his relationship with Eddie. This is the first time we see Buck chose to ‘walk’ away. And it is one-sided, apart from Eddie being in a highly emotional state after Abigail, we haven’t seen him actually have a stained or rocky relationship with Buck, in the same way we see Buck feeling both betrayed and cold with Eddie.
Now what do I mean by that, Eddie even in episode one is shown being unaware of Buck’s jealousy towards his new deepened work relationship with Hen. I have not rewatched the episode so don’t quote me on the wording, but the scene where they exchange quips about it being Buck’s idea for Eddie to dress like an alien and Eddie stating he wasn’t taking credit, felt like Eddie was completely unaware of the peacocking Buck was doing (sorry for the lack of a better word), and instead was happy to be ‘bantering’ with his friend, that he probably doesn’t see as often as he used to. It really gave Eddie had no idea Buck is ‘mad’ and Eddie is blissfully unaware.
Not to mention the Buck being jealous being almost synonymous with him suppressing his feelings. And I think that makes the whole thing worse, he doesn’t know how he feels, but knows he ‘cannot’ fancy his ‘straight best friend’ as it would end well, but he’s struggling with feeling replaced.
Ngl Idc for the big season premieres anymore.
Sometimes they’re done well, other times it just feels separate and isolating. Like it’s not even a case of it being silly (it’s 911 the whole show is silly), but they often fell like they’re down just for the sake of doing it, and don’t really progress the narrative.
The trajectory of the season for me is starting to feel like i get excited for the new season, I enjoy episode one, (often doesn’t include the big crisis, but sets up) as it still incudes all the normal calls, and then wait for ep 2 and 3 to pass so we can get back to the 911 regular schedule.
Like we could have had the first 3 episodes showing harry trying to keep his secret from Athena instead of it just being revealed, or show where Chris is and how he is adjusting back? But everything feels sidelined just for the big spectacle.

Because ‘the last thing Aaron needs right now is another sugden in his life, to mess with his head’ or what ever excuse the writers will use. And we’ll see an Aaron wanting to be there for Robert and his mental health, and perhaps a better dive into that now that John is gone.

when it comes to it, I do want Robert and Aaron legally we'd again. I just don't want another rehashed big ceremony, and I want a legit boyfriends/fiancé phase before they get married again because we got shortchanged when they introduced liv around that time the first time and made every robron story about her until ssw to make their relationship more palatable to the GA. It will save us from the next relationship hurdle they're going to have eventually too, if it takes awhile for them to get remarried again.😊
Is it bad that i want them to have their boyfriend/partner stage but just then elope. Like be fiancés but just have small intimate wedding, maybe have Seb there, but ultimately it’s always just been about them. Maybe even visit Liv, Jacksons, Sarah and Pat’s Graves. I know it’ll probably be big for the views but it be nice if it was a something special for them. Like how they wanted to elope in vegas all those years ago.
Not gonna lie, when we get Seb back I want him to be a complete daddy's boy with Robert. For him to cling to his one remaining parent like a koala, despite not knowing him well.
If he's standoffish with everyone else, I don't mind that, but christ I need Robert to have his one person that loves him unconditionally, that he can love unconditionally. His dad hated him, his siblings hated him, Aaron's 'hated' him on and off, I hate the idea that his son hates him too.
I also want him back and somewhat settled in with Robert before robron officially get back together, which is probs a longshot, in a house that Robert owns.
As much as I enjoy codependent robron, Seb needs to be Robert's priority as his child, just like Liv was to Aaron. It'd be a nice parallel for Aaron to be on the outside of the family unit, tentatively trying to get the kid to like him. Especially as he's usually the baby/kid whisperer.
(I also want the kid to be a proper Sugden by name, but the chances of that are slim too 😂)

I feel this, and if they bring Seb within the next year or two i can definitely see this happening. But I feel like if they leave it later, it could still turn into this, which i would like. But start off in a similar way to Aaron and Liv, where she did love the idea of having a brother, but due to her own issues she was unable to trust and feel that love. And she felt abandoned by him, and her ‘sensitivity’ to any type of reaction was a lot higher. I do think ultimately Seb should idolise him. Rob needs people.
Give me a Aaron-Paddy and Seb-Aaron parallel.
Where this time Aaron is the hated step-parental figure of Seb a child ‘abandoned’ by one of his biological parents.
Give me a Seb who’s angry to learn that his father got out of prison and didn’t come to reconnect, or even fight to see him but for his ex-husband. The ex-husband (now partner) he can easily scapegoat, because in some fucked up way Seb has idolised and hated Robert. So it’s easier to take it out on Aaron, because he’s nice and kind, and nothing like the caricature of a step-parent, and it makes him want to hate him more. He’ll take it out on him, because to Seb it doesn’t matter, he doesn’t even remember him. But Aaron will always be there for him, fighting for him. And slowly win him round.
Because what is emmerdale if not being cursed in the same manner as your parents.
Honestly tagging any of the ladies of Emmerdale is always a hit or miss because they change last names like others changes socks, so I watched the credits to make sure they’re actually Bernice Blackstock and Laurel Thomas

Give me post-John Aaron in distress, breaking down to Paddy (Mack or maybe even Chas) about his feelings for Robert. How he’s conflicted because he had thought John was good and how he doesn’t feel like he can trust himself anymore. How he’s scared that despite always having feelings for Robert, he can’t guarantee how it’ll end.
Think affair era Aaron and Paddy, ‘do you love him?’ - very quiet, low emotion but impactful
If I thought my husband had just left me and wanted nothing more to do with me, and then someone said they had a surprise for me, and then it turned out that that surprise was an ultrasound for the baby I am carrying for them, I would not take it NEARLY as gracefully as Charity did, she is in fact a saint.
like obviously story wise Sarah and Jacob want a kid, but i can’t watch it without seeing the writers and soaps obsession with ‘having kids’ is everything. Will fix everything and is the end all, be all. Very pro-life view emmerdale has. It’s definitely the worst contender for it compared to all the soaps, which makes sense given the audience.

Ngl I don’t keep up with the other soaps as much nowadays, so trying to match them up is hard. But the second one is screaming Vinny and Gabby to me. Idk why, but tbf they’re all vague.
But I’m hoping Aaron being in a coma is more of ‘Robert got hit/Christmas’ story line. Where it’s a quicker recovery and tie up to bigger angst, instead of drawn out.
I can’t wait to see how this unravels, and hopefully more scenes of Robert interacting with other villagers. I think the end of the John storyline, will really mark the final pages of him coming back. This should surely lead to having his own friendships and storylines, away from being outcasted due to the Dingle’s love for John and Aaron.
I know everyone is assuming the plot is going to be a parallel to the ‘who shot Robert?’ Storyline, which in all odds it might be. But it think half the similarity is due to it being a soap and storylines repeat all the time. It’s about how you make them different.
I’m hoping they do test on Aaron and find the drugs that John have been pumping him full off, but again this might be a detail that emmerdale will conveniently forget. Or for them to find Mack’s phone on Aaron or in the house, perhaps when they go back to get clothes for either John or Aaron.
I just FEEL that if emmerdale is cancelled for football on Tuesday we should get an hour long episode on Wednesday
