Busy is good tho. And it’s not really worries, just annoying. I had some… extra expenses lately. Other than that things are a bit weird but okay. Taking care of Eve at the moment.

Hm, I think he’ll contact you sooner or later. The last thing I heard from him is that he’s back up in Canada.

They entered the place and were shown to a table at a corner from where they would be able to see everything without being seen by everyone in return. It was not like they were of a special interest to anyone but he liked it this way. They would simply have some privacy of their own and he liked the idea. He offered her a hand to take her jacket. "Ask away whenever you ferl like it", he continued their former conversation after they had both sat down. "But I have to warn you, some things might seem very impolite to you compared to human standards." He had learned that the hard way.

"Oh, thank you." She let him slip off the jacket, sitting down and taking in the restaurant. She loved little hole in the wall places like this. Nothing fancy, but she knew the food would be good. Nothing pre-packaged or the like. With a small smile she waved off his warning, "Honey, I work with teenagers all day, I've seen and heard all kinds of impolite. Not to mention those action movies the boys like." The war ones were rarely accurate but she figured by this time the kids watched them on purpose just to hear her odd rants about it.

"Hmm, I don't think I've ever asked you this but where were you before Chicago? You mentioned Germany I believe?"

Alexis laughed softly along with Molly. The older woman was so positive and giving. It was refreshing to meet someone like that. Everyone seemed to think Lexi was sweet and selfless, which she tried to be, but she was nowhere near Molly’s level of caring. It warmed her heart knowing that someone was trying to give to kids that she was once like, to give them a better chance.

"Well that’s nice that you’ve established a system to keep the machine going. I’m just surprised no one offers grants or something to a place like this." Alexis took a sip from her coffee before placing it down once more. Her eyes met Molly’s as she sorted out how to express her thoughts for a moment. "I don’t really tell people much about my life since I’m pretty private, but I have to say that seeing all this amazes me. I was once a kid like the ones here and for you to do all this without expecting anything in return… Molly, it’s just heartwarming." she confessed with a soft smile.

"Well, there are grants and things like that but, they go more towards the more over run places. Or ones that deliver to special needs children. This place..well it's like a dorm room. Come in, get set and go. With at least a high school education, these kids have a better chance out there." She even knew one of her former charges was taking a shot at community college. It made her proud and gave her a bit more motivation.

As the younger blond opened up, Molly kept the soft smile on her face. She nodded slightly, "Oh I do expect things in return. Good grades, an after school job and passing my room inspection." She knew very well that was not what Alexis meant, but, well...she did have some form of expectations.

Lexi took a sip of her coffee before meeting Molly’s eyes. Despite the older woman’s modesty, it was obvious she was a saint. “It is amazing. The system is flawed and for you to build a place like this…” she smiled softly. “You’re giving these kids more than child services can even attempt to.”

Even though Alexis had barely seen the home, she knew it was a place she wanted to contribute to. “Molly, if you don’t mind me asking: how is everything here funded?” she inquired. There weren’t many things the young blonde put money into, but the haven Molly had created was certainly something she planned on putting money into.

Molly gave a small head shake, "They deserve it. They keep me going too and every day is an adventure!" The older blond tilted her head, blinking a bit in surprise at the question. Most people weren't exactly worried about the place. Then again, Alexis was proving to herself different from others Molly knew.

"Donation mostly, though I do get a stipend from the government for utilities occasionally." She sipped her coffee, thinking to herself a moment. "The older kids have part-time jobs, and that really does help. Gives them spending money that I don't have to ration out." Though she kept a very close eye on where that spending money went.

There was something very special in kissing a women. It was like taking her in in a very different way. Yes, he already knew her scent, but this...this was tasting her in a very different and way more intense way. Rick had mostly granted himself the luxury of delightfully easy relationships so far. No obligations, it all free and easy, for some fun, and that had been it. Might have been that there had been hurt feelings afterwards here and then, but he had usually been long gone and far away when the ladies had found out about that fact even if they had not realized before that he was a stray - and apart from that, on a mission to find that possible sole female survivor of his own race left who would possibly save their continued existence. But this? This was different. Molly took too much of his attention to be just like his former flirts - no matter if she was actually around him or not. It was the same with this moment. He had never kissed exactly careless, but while he was used to perceive many details, he somehow couldn´t this time, his attention all drawn to her and their kiss. 

It ended earlier than he would have wished for. He looked down, surprised by the experience, only to meet her gaze again at her words. "That was my compliment", he said after a moment, only the small beginning of a smile on his face. "But a polite rat boy would most likely have told you that he really likes your scent." His smile grew a bit. And a proper rat boy would probably have offered her as well to show her that nice cozy place had just recently discovered, all by accident...oh well. So much for rat behavior. It was very cold and he did not want her to start to freeze. "Let´s get inside before you´re getting all cold out here", he suggested, making a wide gesture to signal to her to go first.

She smiled softly, watching the smile on his face grow. There was something about watching those intense eyes shine with joy...it was even better when those eyes began to shine because of her. "I like those sorts of compliments." The scent thing was interesting, she figured it wasn't exactly her twenty dollar perfume that he was interested in. Her scent...something to explore at least. It was primal but oddly flattering. Animals weren't shallow...they chose mates for a reason and Rick was giving her a chance. It made her heart beat faster and he let him escort them inside.

"I get the feeling I'm going to be asking a lot of rat ettiquette."

Oh it is but there is so much culture there! I did two tours in Afghanistan, and the people didn't let go of their culture. Arabian weddings are so pretty!...and have you ever had Turkish coffee? So good!
