your sewing is so cool! 😊💞 i like doing (easy) embroidery, little flowers and birds and so on, but sewing actual geniune garments is so wildly impressive and very interesting

Ahhh thank you so much you're so sweet ☺️💘 i think unfortunately it's practice? I've been sewing since I was a kid, the sheer number of ugly misshapen things I made first is definitely more than 20, more than 30 probably, and I always have to rip apart at least one or two seams because I've made mistakes - but sewing is crazy expensive to practice of course so it's taken years to get better. just being able to embroider by itself is really impressive I think and I bet you can make some really cool stuff with enough time!! (If you want any simple, free clothing patterns I've been using mood fabrics blog for that a lot!)

Oh oh!! And stuffed animals are also a great way to practice - lots of techniques but doesn't use a lot of fabric!! I use nuno dolls for those mostly, but they can get a bit advanced, cholyknight has a fair number of licensed characters (Charmander, momo from the last Airbender, Stitch) but they also have some basic patterns! (Nuno dolls patterns are free, and cholyknight does free patterns every friday!!)
