it's wild how quickly and easily people will pedojacket you for defending childrens rights. I've been called a pedophile for saying 'i treat sixteen year olds like adults.' I heard a podcast recently where the host got looks for saying 'i was playing in the pool with some kids' as if thats not an imminently normal place for both adults and kids to be.

Like so much of the community is in denial abt their attraction being a paraphilia at all, and they think that being objectum is somehow not like other paraphilias, even tho... like... you like kissing computers? Their point of argument is that objectum relationships are based off of respect and love and paraphilias are not, Intentionally or not, demonizing paraphilias as cold and unloving. it's sadly common. it happens in other corners of the para community too - zoos that somehow think they're something better than "the paraphiles" and that spend a huge amount of time feeding into ageist rhetoric (there also seems to be a certain overlap between this group and transphobic zoos), maps that act like they have nothing in common with other folks with marginalized attractions… i have even seen examples of gay homophobic maps before. it seems to be the instinct of a lot of queer folks to try and cut out as many of their controversial siblings as they possibly can in a desperate attempt to try and gain more mainstream approval, which is exactly what queerphobes want. they want us to keep ourselves busy trying to push each other down so they'll have less work.

we need to stand together. none of us are free until all of us are free. infighting and focusing on optics are entirely counterproductive. we need to demand collective and unconditional respect and acceptance.
