My name is Kali and I am a twenty year old online college student. I have over 25 chronic illnesses, most of them chronic pain disorders which causes my life to be very debilitating. I have to use a cane and wheelchair a lot of the time. I am stuck with renting wheelchairs though and sometimes...
I’m sorry if this confuses all of you but I changed my fundraiser site. Someone told me about YouCaring and how (unlike gofundme) they don’t take a percentage out of the money you raise. Also unlike gofundme they allow any amount to be donated. I hope you all understand and enjoy this site better. (I’m keeping gofundme up just in case)
If my followers donated at least $1, I’d have almost $3,000! We can do it! :)
If you cannot donate please share this!

Thank you :)
I updated my fund, I realized a different wheelchair would work better for me and be a lot less for money. I really need these funds soon in order for it to ship in time to me before the beginning of January. Please share and help me!!
This is great! A quickie GT or q7 are under 3k. Again though jusy my rights add I saw you had asked earlier. Ignore my insurance comment I'm sorry they wouldn't pay. If they ever do an aluminum rigid chair is chief the same as the one I saw you bought, k0005. Hugs !
Is 28 total pounds a lot of weight to push for a wheelchair (I would push myself in mall ones and could only for a minute because the pain in my arms. I tried a 40 pd one at the store today and it wasn’t bad, but I wasn’t sure about pushing myself for a while cause I wasn’t able to try that) or should I go with the 22 total pound one?
Sorry I go back and forth with everything I choose, they’re around the same price tho of course
The frame ? Now this is ask just my opinion having used multiple chairs, but I have also helped Otis hey ones like I have and know they live them. If you can get a rigid chair they are as little as 10 lbs for the frame and the wheels depend on what rims you b use, I have ergo rims on myone so it brings up the weight, so my other chair is a lot lighter tho without them ovviously. But it's the frame that's important -it's what u really feel when pushing. An ultralight rigid totally changed my life, Ihave also heard many others day the same. I used to have a mid weight 30 l b folder but these chairs flow so easily it's a huge difference. U can camber the wheels to ,make pushing easier on joints and adjust your center. Of gravity way forward to akso make it easier, get supportive backs, and more. Your feet are also under you in a natural poaition-It really hurts my back having them out at the 75* angle and I know I'm not alone. You cam return any chair you have if you're not satisfied and start over. God bless!
Calling people with disabilities!!
I am a photography student currently doing my last major project before graduating.
I am working on a project called ‘I’m Fine’ which revolves around the world of disabilities and the struggles we face and the judgement put onto us.
It’d be really really helpful for my research if people were willing to share their stories with me. I have an ask box and a submit box.
If you’d like to help me, please either submit photos and text or just text or just photos of yourself and then please write a bit for me including:
- What is your disability? - What struggles does your disability cause? - What are some comments you receive by people about your condition? For example, with my disability I get ‘you’re just being lazy’ a lot!
Please reblog and spread the word <3
I'm so very blessed, I have a nephew! After a horribly sad Christmas last year when we lost his brother or sister, this year we were filled with twice the joy. As the Psalmsist says, "the Lord gives, and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. " It's easy to praise God in the good times, but so important to to in the bad. It's such a beautiful part of our faith, to say "God you are so good in this terrible situation, I know you're going to do something amazing with it, even if I can't see it now. " i don't think we would of have ike if my sister had had her first child. -aunt milly
I’m so proud of all the spoonies who just made it through the holiday. Let’s take today to rest and recover.

I'm guessing insurance refused you already but if not a kid coded chair, a rigid aluminum frame also called cantilever , is the same code as folders, aluminum above hospital grade. A script from any Dr with a variety of dx codes will get approved. Since rigid frames are so expensive odd be a way to get a chair truly ultra lightweight, there is just such a huge difference: I was so shocked. Good bless I hope you're able to get a satisfactory chair whatever the method.
How most people with invisible illnesses are treated by health care “professionals”
The Golden Girls didn’t fuck around

honestly i really appreciated this scene when I first saw it bc it took me like two years to get a diagnosis for what’s wrong with me
Dorothy: Dr. Budd?
Dr. Budd: Yes?
Dorothy: You probably don’t remember me, but you told me I wasn’t sick. Do you remember? You told me I was just getting old.
Dr. Budd: I’m sorry, I really don’t–
Dorothy: Remember. Maybe you’re getting old. That’s a little joke. Well, I tell you, Dr. Budd, I really am sick. I have chronic fatigue syndrome. That is a real illness. You can check with the Center for Disease Control.
Dr. Budd: Huh. Well, I’m sorry about that.
Dorothy: Well, I’m glad! At least I know I have something.
Dr. Budd: I’m sure. Well, nice seeing you.
Dorothy: Not so fast. There are some things I have to say. There are a lot of things that I have to say. Words can’t express what I have to say. [tearing up] What I went through, what you put me through—I can’t do this in a restaurant.
Dr. Budd: Good!
Dorothy: But I will!
Dr. Budd’s date: Louis, who is this person?
Dr. Budd: Look, Miss–
Dorothy: Sit. I sat for you long enough. Dr. Budd, I came to you sick—sick and scared—and you dismissed me. You didn’t have the answer, and instead of saying “I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong with you,” you made me feel crazy, like I had made it all up. You dismissed me! You made me feel like a child, a fool, a neurotic who was wasting your precious time. Is that your caring profession? Is that healing? No one deserves that kind of treatment, Dr. Budd, no one. I suspect had I been a man, I might have been taken a bit more seriously, and not told to go to a hairdresser.
Dr. Budd: Look, I am not going to sit here anymore–
Dr. Budd’s date: Shut up, Louis.
Dorothy: I don’t know where you doctors lose your humanity, but you lose it. You know, if all of you, at the beginning of your careers, could get very sick and very scared for a while, you’d probably learn more from that than anything else. You’d better start listening to your patients. They need to be heard. They need caring. They need compassion. They need attending to. You know, someday, Dr. Budd, you’re gonna be on the other side of the table, and as angry as I am, and as angry as I always will be, I still wish you a better doctor than you were to me.
I love this. I keep this bookmarked. Because there are days I need it for inspiration. It took me 4 years to get diagnosed. And even now, almost 6 years later and WITH a diagnosis, there are still doctors that have the never to call me crazy.
Perfect .
