Sealed and buried for all time is the key to mankind’s future. It Will Take You A Million Light Years From Home. But will it bring you back?

On the 28th of October 1994, Roland Emmerich’s Stargate hit the silver screen, becoming a surprise commercial success, that was later converted into a spin-off television franchise, beginning with Stargate SG-1 (1997-2007), Stargate Atlantis (2004-09), Stargate Universe (2009-11) and ending with the prequel web-series Stargate Origins (2018), which is set before the movie, and spin-offs in various other medie types. Despite what the fandom’s opinion of Emmerich’s later attempts to re-take Stargate from MGN maybe, however, it is undeniable that the 1994 movie is the cornerstone, that started it all, amassing somewhat of a cult following in its near 25 years run on the small-screen. Henceforth, the 28th of October is considered Stargate Day within the fandom. Since this year 28th Oct. unfortunately happened to be monday, and thus a workday, we’ve decided to makeup for missing the actual date, by showing the movie at the next VP.

i’ve seen a lot of good character dynamics on my dash recently but there’s an excellent one i think you’re all forgetting: two people who are the smart, sensible voices of reason respected by their peers for their level-headedness and intelligence when they’re apart, but who turn into unholy chaotic disasters with zero impulse control as soon as they join forces

like they each have an IQ of 160+ but whenever they’re together they cancel each other out and regress to utter Dumbass Bastard Mode™️
