I think Dani’s storyline is extremely problematic.
If she were a man, they would never cover this story. Her obsession with kissing and physical intimacy borderlines on the same wave length of fuck boys in Miami. She seems almost willing to stop at nothing to have sex with someone, not someone important, just someone who will have sex.
I absolutely hate it.

Teen boys are the least relatable characters in the world to me. I have and will never understand them and them not listening (as a parent..ugh) although I’ll wonder about Shelly.. was he in on it?
I don’t like worms… or parasites. It’s just not my vibe. They’re silly and I want you to know whole heartedly this is what I imagined when Nick Cutter describes it for the first time.
Nick Cutter is a great writer, and in no way is it his fault I saw the grandma spine from SpongeBob. I described what I saw in my mind to my husband, he laughed and said “okay I can see that.. but have you seen the worms on Star Wars? I think that might be closer to what it was but I see how you’d get there” (HE DOESNT EVEN READ FICTION) however I do not like his writing style. As someone who has tried to force Stephen king on oneself, Nick, follows close in his foot steps. With over describing random flashback cutaways to describe a scene.
I waited 16 weeks to figure out that Nick Cutter can be added to the list of authors I just can’t read because I don’t vibe the writing.
Please, don’t let this review stop you. It is HIGHLY recommended, something lurks within that troop deeper than a worm. I hope this books finds the people it was meant for.

Big fat DNF at 56%!
When I tell you I’m pissed I’m pissed. 56% . How do I make it that far and not finish?
Books started amazing, throwing monster curve balls, a little gore. Killed it. Then suddenly (I am mean this with no disrespect tumblr) it became some weird LQBTQ+ bullshit.
Suddenly we have a poly couple.
A hippy compound
A gay werewolf
And the book is not very well written.
They gay characters are cliche, same with the poly couple (one on the same actually) don’t write a queer cliche you think everyone thinks about and then give the characters absolutely no substance BUT being gay.
The monsters became mages… that’s NOT a monster.. but whatever.
They talk about different religions but again this book started strong and at 20% the writing flew off the handle. Almost like someone else who doesn’t know proper English started writing the book. (Is that you AI?)
Don’t read this book. It’s absolutely terrible.
I AM 54% THEU THIS BOOK AND SUDDENLY IT SUCKS.

1) yearly recap - 79 total - 64 read // 14 DNF. Ya i count any DNF past 15% because that is usually 5 chapters in, and with a tbr, and case of severe ADHD, I have no time to waste on bad books.
2) December recap - 7 BOOKS!? Who is she, she is Mimi of the past! Reading with a hunger. I’m currently cutting back on the devils lettuce, so I expect this number to climb
3) currently challenging myself to read out of my comfort zone. I have a January prompt challenge, you’re looking at set in winter, free pick, fantasy (but thinking of moving to a mood read because I only read it when I’m in the mood)
