this messed up vintage cat sewing pattern has tormented me since i saw it & like some other folks have done in that post - i tried my hand at tweaking the pattern to resemble the illustration (and my personal tastes) a little more. i've ended up with this, which i have only tested at a small scale and not this final version exactly (where i have done such things as further widening the cheeks and finalizing the leg shapes.) i bestow it upon you nice folks now 👐

My first attempt! I made the pattern a bit smaller as I wanted it to be able to fit in a pocket, but then (accidentally but perhaps unavoidably) sewed it with a wider seam allowance than the resized pattern indicated, so the face is proportionally a bit too big and I lost some detail in the ear shape. I'm pleased with it though! It was fun to make something and to do some handsewing.

what iffffff Q was a vampire and like much vampire fiction he could create a like supernatural psychic link with the people he drank from. And like, know where they are in the world. So when Bond gets smart blood in Spectre, instead of that Tanner just sends him into the room with Q and is like Okay this guy's going to drink your blood but dw it's safe. Obviously Bond has no objections to a pretty man sucking on his neck (to the degree Tanner is like I cannot watch this) and spends the rest of the film slightly distracted thinking about it. Idk maybe some freaky shit happens but I'm not writing that bit

Oh, 100% it does. Not super clearly but enough that Q had to be like Hey. Um please pay attention so this gadget doesn't blow you up by accident. Also in staff meetings where he can't really say anything. Or when Q references going to get lunch or dinner, Bond smoothly offers himself up but Q can hear his brain going like Please please please oh my fucking goooood please please please.

He also can appear in Bond's dream so every time he gets laid during a mission and takes a nap afterwards, he just sees that guy of his dreams (lol) who tells him Hey M says to hurry tf up and don't blow anything up.

(also don't feel too bad for Tanner who does have to witness their nonsense bc Mallory's also a vampire, and Tanner's willing to sacrifice his time, his personal and familial relationships, his sanity, his life for his job. So he is more than happy to give his objectively kinda hot boss some of his blood. Although they have the modesty to do it behind closed doors.)

I'm not dating or married or related to anyone I live with, and our household of four adults can't get any kind of financial or food or housing aid because we count as three separate households despite our semi-blended finances and living together for a decade. There are laws that have been proposed (at least, I don't know if any passed) that limit housing to nuclear families.

Amatonormativity and polyphobia are not just theoretical "people are kinda mean about this sometimes" -- they are real and materially impactful systemic issues, and they affect all of us.

non-negligible number of times someone has walked in to find Bond sitting at Q's feet. everyone always I Close My Eyes I Do Not See cuz no one wants to deal with the potential paperwork, HR reporting nightmare if they acknowledge it. Maybe at some point someone is finally forced to, for some reason, lmao, and they quickly regret it...... HR also probs heard whisperings but without a formal complaint/report they either couldn't do anything or didn't want to...? which is bad yes cuz HR is supposed to care lmao but idk if HR in the UK is different/better than HR tends to be here. but in my experience that lowk tends to be just kinda.. par for course 8) for HR

anyway HR finally gets involved and THEY also have a nightmare of (a) investigating the situation, then (b) trying to cobble together the paperwork to make each of them sign to like. get things squared away.
