In 2021, I was already a few years into deciding to simply watch all modern-superhero media from the last 30 years. I had already punched my way through almost all of the CW DC shows. Supergirl, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow. Then I was finally getting through Arrow. And wow, Arrow was a hard one to deal with. So I wrote 140,000 gay words about it.

But while my Barry/Oliver porn was fun to write in my free time, I realized I wasn't happy with that being the start and end of it. Writing the smut was freeing, because the world was made. I could just reference things from the show then make them fuck again. But I wasn't telling my own story, I was telling the story the characters in the shows would have told if they started dating.

I have wanted to explore the dynamic I was making my own way, in my own world. So I'm doing it.

Blue Bird, Black Bird is a gay superhero story set in my own space. Mark Brace is Denver's Blue Bird, a super fast vigilante who everyone generally likes, even if it is super illegal. Ruth King is Chicago's Black Raven, a brutal fighter who gives a bad name to the rest of the Bird Network of vigilantes with his bloody history.

Can these boys figure out their romantic lives amidst all the drama and intrigue? (Spoilers, they'll figure something out ;) )

One way to get tasks done in the day is to make yourself a Chekhov's List. Put all of the things you have to do on a list, and now that they've been revealed they'll need to be completed by the afternoon (third act) and when you've completed something you can Chekov that task from the list

"crochet can't be made by machines" went from being a cool fun fact to being a call to action of "so if you see mass manufactured crochet in Target, that was made by a person and they were underpaid and you should boycott it" which is true, it was made by a person, but EVERY item of clothing you own (that you did not purchase from a company using ethical labor) was made by a person being underpaid (at *best*.)

Sewing machines are operated by *people*. Knitting machines are operated by *people*. Yes lots of the process is automated but you cannot tell a machine "make me a t-shirt" or "make me a knit cardigan".

Higher awareness of fast fashion, and the true human labor and abuse behind it, is GREAT, but let's not pretend that the crochet hat in target is THE problem. Every article of clothing in target is the problem. "All clothes are made by people" is the jumping off point here into understanding this issue it's not just crochet it's the whole thing ahhhhHHHHHHHHHH
