You’re so smart and caring but don’t recognize your charms

My beating heart here in my pocket is faster when you’re wrapped in my arms

I was happy you picked me from all the rest

I’m so honored because I know that I had the best

First things first autism is not a disease merely a condition

Try to continue to use that ablest rendition

Well here’s the thing it won’t work,

Autism is a state of existence full of quirk,

Just because this world is not set up for us,

Does that mean you can make our lives any less precious?

Does all life mean anything to you?

moving away from my initial New Year’s “resolution”,

while it is different it isn’t devolution,

Merely a change of pace,

A simple competition with myself in a mental race,

I like Haiku’s don’t get me wrong,

But I like writing and creating my own internal song,

I do write a lot about hope and love,

Of course in the context of it it’s existence as one with a dove,

Chose to believe it it’s up to you,

But I hope you can take from it to recolor your days away from blue,

I try and I try but it seems to be plenty don’t care,

It’s like a train but it never stops and you don’t get a refund for your fair,

The lack of love and kindness when it comes to our blindness,

It’s enough to show how much we don’t improve our likeness,

Rules and authorities and culture galore,

To keep up with and to be affable with is nothing short of a chore,

In this world of strife and hate,

The more I grip the iron bars wishing it was Heaven’s Gate,

Hope in this world is but a faint ray,

As rare as it is, it still exists in the gray,
