Happy holidays and L'shana Tova, to those who have been slowly alienated out of the faith, culture, and community you have loved due to a growing "us" vs "them" mentality. To those who were raised to spread kindness, charity, and justice; "but not to them." To those who swears the apples, honey, and challah bread taste more bitter then you remember. To those who dread the up coming sermon knowing it is going to come up. To those who feel like they are stealthing in their own home, family, and faith. To those who feels they have to lie to yourself and/or others to not be labeled as "fake" to your own identity for not supporting a country that has only existed for a fraction of the time your culture has, and who has grown to be the very thing you have sworn to prevent.
L'shana Tova to those who think they are alone. To those who see the hypocrisy, and to those who will. To those who stand for what's right and who stand up against injustices everywhere. To those who are further ahead of me on this journey, and to those who are behind me. To those who find themselves lost in the house where you grew up but thought you knew like the back of your hand. To those who ask questions knowing you might not like the answers, but who asks anyway.
I love you, you are not alone. You can get through today. Keep thinking, keep asking questions. L'shana Tova
The Things I do for love
My arms, covered in the wounds of battle
My hair, torn from the very roots
My legs, shaking from the effort of holding up my body
My chest, caved in from the constant pressure
The things I do for love, giving you ever piece of myself
Watching as you tear me limb from limb
Just to satiate your ever growing lust
But it is never enough
Soon, the limbs don't match my body
The scars leave me unrecognizable
They're tainted, paled by your touch
A constant reminder of the “love” you give back
The things I do for love, staring at the pale splotches on my thighs
Spots that bring me a cruel mix of emotions
Both Horror and Relief
For the decolorization had not touched my core
Icarus falling,
Loving you like bugs love light,
Reaching for you,
as you burn at the wings keeping me aflight,
I can't help myself,
You're just so bright.
Golden angel,
though you cause me so much strife,
Maybe you're the love of my life,
Maybe reaching for you,
Knowing I'll die,
Is a feat of might.
Never following Always chasing.
Chasing, chasing, chasing.... Round and round I go.
But somehow you Can't hear my Heavy breathing.
I'm not stalking. Chasing. Chasing you. My legs are on fire. My arms are just out of reach. How can you not see me?
Do you really hate me? After everything I've done For you.
I feel like I'm chasing A dream. Something I'll never be able to catch.
Excerpt from "Blackspace" by N Rosewood
I grew up
Just alone
In a home
Where I wasn’t supposed
To be left
I had siblings irking me
Everyday
So I kept wishing that I may
One day
Be the favourite
So I worked
I worked my butt off
Looking back I’d scoff
About just how off
That was
I am the perfect kid
Straight A
And with no dismay
Kinda gay
Just an honours kid
I wish I had a best friend.
I wish I had a best friend but I can't tell anyone that because I have so many amazing friends.
But all of my amazing friends have best friends and significant others and they all have that one person who they put above everyone else and who puts them above everyone else too.
And it's not me.
And I wish I had a best friend.
No one talks about how lonely it is to be the third wheel in a friendship. Or the 11th wheel in a friend group
The people I consider myself closest to are best friends. They celebrated one of their birthdays without me.
I wished her a happy birthday and told her I missed her. She's in college, i haven't seen her since she graduated. She said she missed me too. But she didn't invite me to her party.
I wonder sometimes if my friends even like me. But then I remember that's silly. I know they love me. I guess they just don't love me as much as they love each other.
And God i know it has nothing to do with me. You can't control who you connect with. But for once I just wish it would be me!
Am I too much? Am I a pick me for wanting to be picked?
What's so wrong with wanting to be wanted?
My morbid weight loss wasn’t a need for attention, I feel like it was my brain’s way to visually show people the rawness of the pain I’ve always carried.
Because as long as I have all four limbs & I’m not plugged into a machine, there’ll « always be someone else having it worse »
« I should stop complaining »
