The air was growing colder as a black dragon walked between the trees, her large paws crunching the dry leaves that layered the ground, the wind curling through the dark branches that entwined overhead. She flared her nostrils, taking a deep breath in as she walked, her eyes narrowing as she sensed someone nearby. Her pupils contracted as she slipped past the underbrush and approached the stranger slowly, her movements fluid like a cat with her gaze focused ahead, a growl rising in her throat.
The sand wraith had been searching for smaller reptiles to prey on, turning over rocks and sniffing in holes for his next meal when he heard the growl. Slowly, he turned to face the strange creature.
Hissing in response, the desert dragon whipped up a warning cloud of dust with his tail as he stood firmly in place, claws anchoring him to the spot.
