Your AC answer is the first time I've ever disagreed, or even been saddened, by something you said. Girls everywhere deserve to have characters they connect with. Some 90% of PCs are white, cishet males, even in AC (where it makes no damn sense).

Firstly - women, not girls. What are we, five years old?

Secondly - do we really need to be the same gender to connect with a character? I certainly don’t - it’s about the characterization and development - the humanity of the person, not their outward appearance. Isn’t this one of the main things that Tumblr campaigns about every day?

My answer was specific to this instance in AC: Unity, and if you watch the interview I did with one of the AC team, you’ll further understand why they’ve not done it.

If the AC team didn’t have a long standing history of producing female characters that are well written humans, and usually more crafty and humorless than the male lumps that ran the show in ye olde days, then I might be more inclined to feel there’s a problem.

As I said before, we’ve had a female assassin. Well two or three, actually. Ubi will do it again when they’re good and ready, have the reasoning and research down, and have the correct setting. I’d rather they take their time and find the place for it, than try and force it too quickly and make female characters take a giant step backwards, like TR: Angel of Darkness did.

I remember when this game got announced and I was hella excited about it as anyone who has been following me since that e3 can remember but, as much as i love games, and as much as i love the idea of playing as a female assassin, i’m not going to buy a system for ONE game.

I totally would have bought this shit on the re-release had i known about it, but i didn’t until about three days ago. and that’s saying something because i am always on steam looking for shit to play. the fact that i didn’t know it EXISTED until earlier this week is fucking baffling to me

Don’t fucking sit there and pretend like this is our fault when the chances are that you motherfuckers didn’t know about this game either until you decided to use it as a weapon against women who give a shit about representation in games, goddamn. Spinoffs rarely get ad space anywhere near the amount the main games get. They don't buy ad space anywhere except gamestores because not enough people buy a vita to make the money worth it, and PC ports are rarely re-adveritsed, the only reason i know it exists is because of the games media, youtube and the Steam Updates window.
