🕸 “Hold up. Did they just call you Loki? Like the God of Mischief? That Loki?” Gwen had been zipping through an area ridden with CPNs when she’d overheard the conversation briefly from above. She’d never met an Asgardian from her world nor 616, but she had met a version of herself that was Thor. And that other self had accused her of being Loki in disguise.

Don’t make me explain that, actually.

There were probably better things she could be spending her time on, but she just dangled from a roof’s overhang, glaring down at him through her suit. Wasn’t this guy trouble, maybe? “Or were you just given an unfortunate name?”

Loki glances up at the voice, raising an eyebrow at Gwen. There are more spider people? Since when? That is so cool. He wants to be a spider person.

He pouts slightly at the question. Being asked if he’s “that Loki” never seems to end well for him, since just about everyone hates (for good reason) that Loki and refuse to believe his entirely truthful answer. Yet he still gives that answer to the spider lady.

“I am Loki, god of mischief and child of Odin. I am not that Loki, though I have some of his memories. That Loki died, then Thor tried to resurrect him, and instead Asgard received me: the younger, cooler, nicer Loki.”

Loki is not a fighter. He has gotten into fights occasionally, and at times tried to be more like Thor by brute forcing matters, but the fact is that he’s tiny, scrawny, rather poor with most weapons, and without the magical powers that the previous Loki had. Even with his godly attributes unlocked by the so-called Blessing, he doubts trying to punch the CPNs would actually work.

So running from the half dozen CPNs it is! At least that’s something he’s good at, having gotten quite a bit of experience while trying to outrun Asgardians angry at him for things he didn’t do. He manages to put some distance between him and the CPNs, right up until he runs straight into someone’s chest. “Ack!”
