Yeah, I'm dropping Ikari from AURP. Not because of anything you guys have done, but because...well...
I dunno. But this version of Ikari (I have my 'canon' version, who I changed for the group), just isn't working for me. Any time I log in to her account, I just get a total mind blank. And because of it, I haven't been responding. That's unacceptable for me, and not fair on you guys.
Rest assured, I'm keeping Ikuto and Shizuka. :3
Shizuka-mun. <3
✖Sugar and Spice: Not Everything Is Nice//Closed//missikari
Sighing, he turned around, “I suppose I have to explain things to these humans, don’t I?” The blond scratched his head and huffed once more, “Look, I’m a Summon Spirit, I’m not a human.”
Was that enough to shock her even more? Anyway, he coughed to continue speaking, “Mana is a power source. Often allows others to use magic actions or, it refers to health. To put it in simple terms, it’s a life force. Without mana, things will die. The trees, they’ll die…”
The serious look on his face never faded. “It supports an entire world. I’m not going to tell the entire story, but give you general ideas of what it is. ” And for some reason, his tone wasn’t raised. Instead, it was calm, serious, and firm. “Fine. My name is Ratatosk… It’s…” he paused and scoffed a little, unsure if this is what humans would like to hear,”It’s nice to meet you.”
"You're.....not a human....you're a....?!" Woah, this was getting too weird, too fast. She backed against a wall, using it to support her suddenly shaking legs. What the hell had she stumbled into?!
Although, looking at the kid, somehow, Ikari knew he was telling the truth. And that freaked her out even more. She had always been a woman of science and cold facts. She had never been into fantasy, even when she was younger. (unless it was a Disney movie) And now, there was this guy was telling her that there was a whole other world out there, and that he wasn't a human.
She pinched herself, wondering if this was just some bizarre dream, had she someone gotten too much anesthetic when helping out in OR? But the pain was real and she hissed quietly.
"Ra....Ratatosk" she murmured softly, trying out the strange sounding name. After a second, she looked up at him.
"I guess....it's nice to meet you too.....I think."
"Ah... you are Ikari-san, are you not?" Amariss asked, her tone and expression uncertain."I would like to introduce myself. I am Amariss, you new dorm mate. I do hope we can be friends!"
It had been a long day at the hospital. First there were clinical rounds, then a shift in the wards. After that, there had been lectures in the academic wing of the library. A break for lunch, then back onto the wards.
Being a nurse was wonderful, but Ikari hadn’t realized quite how exhausting it would be! Both physically and mentally, she just needed a nap.
Taking off her shoes at the entrance to her dorm room and leaving them by the door, Ikari turned to face her bedroom door and enter, when a nervous sounding voice broke through her thoughts.
Ah… you are Ikari-san, are you not? I would like to introduce myself. I am Amariss, you new dorm mate. I do hope we can be friends!
Ikari turned back to the other girl, eyes a little wide in surprise. So this was her dorm mate! Her old one had only been there a few days before she moved out again, and Ikari had been so busy she hadn’t even realized that Amariss had moved in. Internally she made a face feeling guilty. Even if she had been busy, she should have paid more attention, dammit!
But to the other girl, Ikari smiled and held out her hand, nodding.
“That’s me alright. Nice to meet you, Amariss!”
…..
“I mean ‘san!’ Amarmiss-san!” she hastily babbled, cursing her overtly familiar nature. Normally she wouldn’t have bothered correcting herself, but when it came to having a room mate…it was best to err on the side of caution and politeness.

Did she… Did she just call him a kid? Oh, now that does it. Ratatosk growled, almost grabbing this girl by the collar of her shirt, “Did you just call me a kid?! Listen here, I’m older than you think! I’ve been around for thousands of years and out of all things, you call me that?! I’m not running home, damn it!” And that’s all true. He has been around for thousands of years!
Geez, this girl is already asking for it! “I have to keep the mana balance stable, thank you very much! I’m a lord, for your information! Now buzz off!” That is also true, he uses what are known as Centurions to keep the world’s mana flow balanced. It wasn’t until long ago that he had lost his memories and his tree. Being locked up somewhere wasn’t pleasant. He hated the people who inhabited the world because they destroyed his tree.
Pfft, Ratatosk doesn’t care who the hell she is! He’s more important in his mind! His goals! His goals only! Nothing less! He just wants to get his world back in shape, but is stuck here! He does visit now and then, checking to see if everything is alright. Man, he sure the hell wishes that Emil were here. Maybe he could snap this girl out of the bitter funk… Him included.
“Now, if you excuse me! I have a world I need to check on! Before it falls apart!” He barked, brushing the woman to the side and walking down the paved sidewalk. No time to waste!
Ikari gawked at Ratatosk speechlessly for a few minutes. Yes, Ikari Cortania, speechless. Someone should have filmed it and sent it to her parents.
"....What the are you on?! 'Hundreds of thousands of years?' 'Keep the mana balance stable? What is 'mana'?! What the heck are you talking about?"
In fact, she was so stunned by the sudden overload of information, she only noticed they way he lunged for her at the last second. She jumped back with a yelp, eyes wide. Then her expression soured again as she realized what what he had intended to do.
"Brat! That was my uniform you nearly wrecked. Dammit, think of my what you'd like, but keep my clothes out of it, I have to wear this into work!"
Muttering darkly as he pushed past her, the rational side of her tried to make her move on, to brush the incident off as a strange encounter and to forget all about it.
Pity Ikari never really listened to her rationale. Turning on her heel, she stalked after the boy. 'If he's delusional, me following him will keep him out of danger. If not....well, he owes me an apology anyways.' she thought, justifying her actions to herself.
"Hey! I told you my name! Fair is fair, you tell me your's!" She just about managed to keep the 'brat' out of the order/request, speeding up to she was only a step or two behind the bot.
Bad Manners//RP with Byakuya Togami
Ikari shouldn't have been there at that time, she should have either been at the hospital or in college. But it didn't matter, all thoughts of both work and study went out of her head, and disgust filled her as she watched the scene play out in front her.
She watched as the meek, scared looking brunette girl (in an Ouran uniform, even! One more reason to get involved.) was talked down to by some creep in a Spica uniform. A creep that liked the sound of his own voice, by the sounds of things too.
For a few minutes Ikari watched the girl try to assert herself, at one stage grinning when she seemed to take a lunge towards the other. But it came to an end quickly enough as the poor thing admitted defeat and slunk away, head bowed. And that's when Ikari stepped in.
Walking straight up to the jerk in the Spica uniform; who was now facing away from her obviously about to leave too, she seized him by the shoulder and forcefully spun him around to face her. While speaking out as loudly as possible, hoping for maximum humiliation.
"So, you like picking on little girls, do you, you pompous little snot rag?"

Ratatosk’s crimson orbs glared at the other, his fists clenched together as if he were ready to pounce. It seems that this girl could put up a good fight, not to mention her temper was a tad bit similar to his.
Twit?! Was that the best insult she has? The Summon Spirit hardly noticed that the other was about to apologize, after all, she stood in his way.
“You’re in my way! What the hell, do you think you own the place?!” Ratatosk growled, eventually turning his head away from the other. “Move along before I change my mind and kill you on the spot!”
Well, Ratatosk, that isn’t the most clever thing to do. You’ll get suspended. Or worse. With another huff, he glanced another look at her and sighed, “Look, just get the hell out of my way next time. I’ve got things to do! And it’s worth more than you are! Besides, I don’t even know you, so why should I even care?!” Calm down there, hot head. You could bring attention to yourself. Not to mention disturb some of the innocent people who happen to walk by.
Ikari's glare bore straight into the other's eyes, lips automatically curling into a sneer. So this kid wanted to go, huh? Well, if that was the case...who was she to disappoint?
She almost laughed at his next remark. Almost. "You, kill me?! HA! Kid, why don't you do everyone a favor and run on home? Before I hurt you." All this said with a grin on her face. A slightly maniacal one at that, too. When she was in the hospital, Ikari never let her stress show, there was no point in upsetting the patients. Outside of the hospital, though...well, that was a different story.
“Look, just get the hell out of my way next time. I’ve got things to do! And it’s worth more than you are! Besides, I don’t even know you, so why should I even care?!”
......
Ikari just about stopped herself from killing the smug little ass, there and then. Although it was close, if his reaction to her lunge towards him was anything to go by.
"Worth more than I am?! Who the hell do you think you are, you little shit?! Where the hell do you get off, assigning people worth?! People like you make me sick!"
Uh-oh. Now Ikari was in her element. Ratatsok, nice one. If there was one thing Ikari hated, it was people assigning others worth. She had seen it in her area of work, seen it cost people their lives. And nothing made her angrier.
Basically, her beserk button had been pressed. With a snarl, she leaned in towards Ratatsok, eyes burning into him, anger and dislike marring her usually pretty features.
"Well, now you do know me. Ikari Cortania is who I am, and if you ever speak to me like that again, I assure you, you will come to a swift and painful end!"
Emergency Room Shift//OPEN RP
She got the call in the middle of the night, as was usually the case in these kind of things. In less than 30 seconds, Ikari went from almost catatonic with sleep to fully alert and pumping with adrenaline. Someone was hurt, and she'd be part of the team that could be the only thing between the injured person and Death itself.
Quickly slipping on her nurses tunic and hat, Ikari hailed a cab and head straight to Bunkyo hospital. What awaited her there was pure and utter chaos.
The poor fool that was sent in tonight had been in a car crash, an over-worked salaryman who'd fallen asleep at the wheel, and paid dearly for it. The car had gone straight into a wall, and it was nothing short of a miracle that he had survived long enough to make it to the ER. Fractured ribs, fractured skull, lacerations to the face thanks to shattering glass and massive internal bleeding. In short, damn lucky to be alive.
For over an hour, the doctors, other nurses and Ikari fought to stabilize the man's vitals. After two seizures and a cardiac arrest, somehow they succeeded in their mission. The man's fate was up to those in the OR and ICU now.
Ikari watched as the man was send up to the OR, before flopping in a seat, trembling. Not from any negative, really. But from the rush it had provided. She had helped save a man's life. She fulfilled the goal she set herself when she was 5 years old. And this was only the start! She'd crow with triumph, if she didn't already know that that would be a perfect way to tempt fate. Or get her thrown out.
The rest period came to an abrupt halt again as a doctor rushed past her, calling out to her. Someone else was being rushed in for treatment. Ikari leaped to her feet and rushed to the door, bracing herself as she heard the ambulance's sirens and saw the vehicle round the corner...
Pained//Ikari&Yuri
Yuri took a short step back. Whoops. She hadn’t meant to startle the girl. There wasn’t much of a gentler approach she could manage though. She might not have exactly been a soft-hearted type but she still tried to reach out to those around her. Especially if it seemed they needed a hand. Though this girl claimed otherwise, Yuri wasn’t buying it.
Still it wasn’t her place to pry into another’s business. Most situations like these she’d just leave it alone. Give a nod and continue on her way. However her weekend had just begun and it’s not as though she was going home to anything exciting. Just her Aunt and Uncle and a stack of homework and chores. Maybe the girl would be fine, but maybe not. She couldn’t just leave her sitting there by herself. “No problem.” Yuri nodded at her, debating what to do. Well if the girl told her to shove off then she’d oblige. For now she moved closer taking a seat next to her on the bench. “You know if something was wrong, getting it off your chest would be a lot better than holding it in.” Unfortunately Yuri had no problem voicing her opinions on any matter. Which caused her to come off as a bit nosy but it wasn’t something she could really help.
Ikari sniffled and wiped her eyes forcefully. How stupid she was, cryig over that douche. And in public too! She was ashamed of herself. She was Ikari Cortania, for crying out loud! She had a reputation as a fighter, not a crybaby.
Looking up a little, she noticed that the other girl was still there and she made a face to herself. What the hell, why was she hanging around? Was she gonna start pitying her now? No...no Ikari didn't need that. She didn't need anyone's pity!
“You know if something was wrong, getting it off your chest would be a lot better than holding it in.”
Ikari made a face, this time visibly. Seriously? She knew she should have gone to the dorm and had her angst fest there. Still, she was too wound up to try and tell the other girl to go away.
"What good would that do? Why would a stranger want to listen to my whining? No offence." was the blunt reply.
After a few seconds she sighed heavily and moved over a bit to allow Yuri to sit down. If the girl was insisting on staying, she may as well sit down.
"I'm just whining. Seriously."
So why was her voice still shaking, dammit?

It has already been a day here at Ouran’, College is okay, and he was already getting tired of everyone getting in his way. Ratatosk could have sworn he had made plenty of enemies or at least scared people off. Let’s just say his temper is getting the best of him, again.
The day was rather nice, it wasn’t too hot or too cold, the sun was out, and the breeze made everything even better. Crimson orbs eyed a few people in the distance. Tch, the Summon Spirit couldn’t help but to feel a little jealous on the inside. Shaking his head and silently cursing himself for that, he continued to walk forward.
Ratatosk hates to admit that he wishes Emil were here to just do this for him, but he is sure Emil is far away from here. Well, duh. Anyway, shaking his head once more, he tugged on his scarf and stopped in the middle of campus, staring at the gate. With a huff, he opened them and was headed straight for town. Better get to know your new home, right?
Now walking along the streets of Bunkyo, he took a look at his surroundings. It was nothing like Aselia and the world trees. There were some objects that he had no clue what they were. Now, he has no choice but to get to adapt to this world’s customs, no matter how hard they may be.
Finally snapping out of his thoughts, he continued to walk ahead. That was until someone had bumped into him. That’s when he snapped, “Hey! Watch where you’re going next time!” There was a small growl that escaped his lips. “Can’t you see I’m walking here?!” Way to make a first impression, Ratatosk.
Alright, she had to admit it. Ouran College was actually a decent place. Far better than her high school in Osaka was, anyways. And these nursing program...
Honestly, Ikari had never been happier studying nursing. It had been a passion of hers since she was about 5 years old. That said, it could be in the genes, too. After all, bother parents were doctors and her sister was a trainee surgeon. Medicine had to be in her blood somehow!
But for today, she was taking a break from her studies and exploring Bunkyo. And it was a nice little city. A little quaint, but otherwise very nice. The hospital was in walking distance from the college and from her parents' apartment. Nice and compact.
Stuck in a daydream of her upcoming job at Bunkyo Hospital she didn't notice the young man walking towards her until they had crashed. For a second, Ikari let out a slightly undignified yelp. "Crap, I'm sor-!"
“Can’t you see I’m walking here?!”
"You got eyes? Trying using them next time, you twit!" she spat back, ready for a fight.
Guess Ratatosk wasn't the only one who could make one hell of a first impression,
Out of Study
I'm really loving Yuri, she's so to-the-point and blunt. I don't think she's gonna let Ikari feel sorry for herself for too long!
Might annoy her majesty for a bit, but I can see Ikari warming up to her! :D
Pained//Open
The weekend was nearing and with her classes finished for the day Yuri had decided to skip Friday and head back to her Aunt and Uncles early. She had kept up with her class work for the most part and figured one little, insignificant day off wouldn’t kill her grades. Typically she’d have taken the short bus ride into town but the weather was nice enough so instead the redheaded girl found herself walking.
Taking the long route back into town Yuri was making her way through the park, PSP in hand and headphones wrapped around her ears. Enjoying the sunny day while completely ignoring it all at once. The sound of gunfire and screams was all she heard as she strolled on, tip of her tongue poked out in concentration. Boom. Dead. Yuri paused mid-step and let out a light groan. She’d never make it past this level. Grumbling to herself she pulled her headphones around her neck and pocketed the handheld. Looking up the girl took in her surroundings besides the path in front of her and noticed someone slumped over on a bench. The way her body was curled in on itself and her shaking shoulders Yuri could tell she was crying. She watched her for a moment, running the situation through her head. It wasn’t uncommon for her to approach total strangers but then again the girl might want to be left alone. Still Yuri couldn’t just sit and let someone cry. “Hey,” She called out to her, “what’s wrong?”
'I hate him, I hate him, I hate him!' Ikari chanted to herself. Maybe if she said it enough times it would actually stick and her heart would stop hurting. She could them move on and not feel bitter when she went back to Osaka at the weekends and saw Dia and Astir play happy families, or when she saw her parents and their perfect relationship when at their apartment.
But it was no use. She could chant 'till she turned blue in the face, but it wouldn't change anything. She loved Chase, even after they way he had dumped her. Would keep loving him, because he had seen the scared little girl she had been and helped her turn into the woman she was now.
And now he wanted nothing to do with her.
Taking a shuddering breath, Ikari swallowed, No point....there was no point in crying over him, was there. He had chosen his path, she had chosen hers...she should just leave the matter be, harden her heart. Move on with her life an focus on her studies.
Trying to get a hold of herself, a voice suddenly broke through her thoughts.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”
Ikari jumped. Crap! Someone had spotted her blubbering. She should have waited until she got back to the dorms, dammit.
Fiercely, she rubbed at her eyes and swallowed hard, looking towards the source of the voice. When she spotted the girl that had spoken, she nodded tersely, putting up a front.
"Yeah, I'm fine." was the blunt reply, accompanied by a swallow and a sniff.
A few second later came a softer response.
"...Thanks for asking."
Pained//Open
*Snap!*
Ikari shut her phone with a quick snap, tars brimming in her eyes. It wasn't fair, her parents had a loving relationship, Dia and her boyfriend of eight years were due to get married in the spring, and even her baby brother had hooked up with a girl in his school. And Ikari? All alone.
'I shouldn't have phoned him, I'm so stupid.....' she though miserably, dropping the device into her bag, when all she really wanted to do was crush it under her foot.
It had been so sudden, her breakup. One day it had seemed like she and her boyfriend had the strongest relationship possible. The next, he was going to college and ending it all.
"I just don't want to be tied down Ikari. And you shouldn't either."
But she did! She did want to be tied down with him, she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him! She wanted him.
And her didn't want her. He didn't want to see her, didn't want to meet her. In fact, it seemed he didn't want to speak to her anymore.
Sinking down onto a bench, Ikari stared hard up at a cherry blossom, its flowers blurring and eyes filled with tears again. She lowered her face into her hands and sobbed.
She felt so alone.
