Iāmā¦sorry?
Why? The wicked witch of the west is dead.Ā
I will storm the gods, and shake the universe.
Seneca, MedeaĀ
Oh, you poor darling.
Iām sure it will look much better when I have some of my work hung on the walls. Wonderful. So how did you come to be in your field?
[gives Olga the cup she only put sugar in before leaning against her desk with her own cup in her hands.] Well, ever since I was a little girl I've always loved mythology. The idea of eras believing in completely different ethics than what we do now fascinated me. Plus you will always learn something new about mythology. Latin, on the other hand, came from when I was in the university. I took it out of curiosity and fell in love. It's a wonderful language once you learn how to work with it.Ā
Monster womenĀ : Drakaina
InĀ Greek mythology, aĀ drakainaĀ (AncientĀ Greek:Ā Ī“Ļάκαινα) is a femaleĀ dragon, sometimes with human-like features. Examples includedĀ Campe,Ā Delphyne,Ā EchidnaĀ andĀ Sybaris.
Itās quite nice. I havenāt even been to mine just yet.Ā
Oh, yes please. Sugar, no cream.
Ah, well, I'm sure once you add a little bit of home it'll look lovely. [gets two cups from the cabinet underneath the coffee maker before moving about to get the sugar cubes she has stored in someĀ drawer.] That'll take only a minute or two.
Thatāsā¦interesting.
[chuckles] I know.Ā
Your office sounds nice. Perhaps there we wonāt be interrupted.
Alright, follow me. [disney magic to her office] It's not that big but I was able to add more comfortable chairs and the windows work wonderfully with my flowers. Would you like any coffee?
Entomology in general, but body decomposition is my favorite aspect. No, please do go on. It sounds quite fascinating. Perhaps we could sit for a moment and you can tell me more.
Oh, dear you must be joking. I wouldn't even know where to begin. But we could sit out here or my office is just a few floors up.
Oh, quite the contrary, I love the chaos. I specialize in entomology. And yourself?
[smiles] How perfect. Entomology? How fascinating. Is it for body decomposition or just in general? Ah, Latin and mythology for myself. Though with mythology, I specialize in European here so the usual Greek, Roman, and Norse. I do know just about most other mythologies around the world. Now, you must stop me or I will go on forever.
What a lovely name. Professor Olga Bulgria.
Oh, I know, but thank you. It's certainly a pleasure meeting someone who isn't complaining about this darling turn of events. What is it that you teach?
Again, literally?
Possibly. Probably.Ā
[Sighs dramatically] Yes, perhaps something ⦠better next time. Who did you say you were again?
Madame Myra Lemures.Ā
Did you mean a literal witch? I had assumed not. Either way, with the tornado, itās all very Wizard of Oz.
Well -- she is my sister so being a witch explains everything.Ā
To be perfectly honest, I think Iām in a little o v e r my head.
Oh, that sounds very unfortunate. Can you buy a new one or is it irreplaceable?Ā
I could, but the picture is such an awkward size. I'm sure some store will have one. Or I could just throw the horrible -- oh no, I can't do that. I guess the old thing will have to stay for now.
Well, I can see that. [She grins wickedly] Do it again.
[chuckles] Oh no, dear, surprises come best underprepared.Ā
