Hi, sometimes I yap about characters, you can find them all so far by clicking on the character analysis tag while being on my profile. I kinda have no idea how Tumblr actually functions with searching but that should work (I think)

i've watched the entire leak but i'm not going to mention it on here, because unlike twitter you all have sense.

on that note THERE ARE LEAKS EVERYWHERE BE CAREFUL! if you see any pictures with numbers/letters on them IT IS A REAL LEAK scroll past it. i will be watching the finale again in theaters on june 4th which is when i will post about it. can we all have common sense and decide to shut up until it's actually out please thank you

why does every ending suck now?

it feels like everyone woke up, opened a bible and only read revelations, tossed the book and made that the ending. i've seen SO many stories wasted to this 'give it all to god' narrative.

everything that happens in the show is wrapped up in a cosmic forgiveness narrative that tries to imply multiple things about the universe and absolves all the characters sins through a big bad that tries to end the world.

all the characters suddenly forgive each other, no matter how horrible what they did is, to defeat the evil and live forever in a magical paradise. most of the time this is coupled with a timeline or dimension shift that essentially negates the entire story in the process of this 'absolving of sin'. there is no conflict, no questioning, no arguments, just a sudden and complete turn around where everyone assimilates into the goal of killing the Great Evil and then being best friends in a land that's completely restored or their lives have been reset.

most of the time, it also involves slaughtering a mentally ill character because the writer has no idea how to properly make someone who has issues and has done bad things live a normal life. their death is treated as part of the defeat of the Big Evil and a needed sacrifice to keep everyone safe.

the creator will go on to say they wanted some sort of commentary on life as a whole, when it ultimately says nothing at all.

i'm not sure if this weird revelations-esque ending is something they assume people want, but most people are very fed up with it. no, we don't want a repeat of the bible with our characters.

if you can't make an actually independent, thought provoking, and good ending that actually ties in with the narrative and all its characters, then put the damn pen down and redo it.

for the unaware: JayVik as a ship became predominantly hating the already established relationship Jayce (right) had with Mel (left), to the point she was only ever seen as 'in the way' or depicted as violently murdered. Viktor (middle) is canonically disabled and that was fetishized on top of the already existing racism exhibited towards Mel. It devolved into a highly offensive depiction of Mel as evil or disposable or 'cucked' despite being the only reason Jayce is still alive and a genuinely nice person, with Viktor being a fetishized disabled trans man forced to dress like a woman and constantly pregnant, and Jayce (who is Latino) shown as an unwashed idiot despite being an engineer with Viktor that made an entire magical technology system by the time they hit their 30s.

Yes, I'm serious.

So far, I've seen people treating Caine as an idiot for his perceived mental illness and a 'yandere' that killed Queenie. Kinger is also seen as incapable for his brain damage. Queenie herself is basically never mentioned unless it's him 'stealing' Kinger from her.

It's early enough to stop this before it starts. Please don't play into racist and ableist stereotypes when writing these characters, and call out people who do.
