What? ||Â Hwan and Artemis
Not the reaction heâd expected but certainly less violent. However, he didnât let his kakuja drop, watching her move further into the apartment. âIrrelevant,â he replied, âthis is Andrewâs apartment and while Iâm aware I am award that Iâm trespassing as well, but I wasnât expecting another to come.â Slowly, he let his weapon disappear, reaching out to help with the bags.
So Andrew had friends? Female friends? From the conversations heâd had with the other, heâd never assumed the other would have friends. âThe window,â he stated, voice dry, âit seemed the fastest way in at the time and I needed some supplies.âÂ
âYou appear to be having human food, why?â he asked. The last time heâd tried to eat anything human did that wasnât coffee, heâd spent two hours throwing up while his brother laughed at him then stole his medication and left. âAre you attempting to become ill so you can skip work?â
It was a decent theory, but wouldnât last forever. How many times could a supposed human use the excuse âfood poisoningâ before people started to catch on?
a half-ghoul is strong; strong enough to give the ccg second thoughts on keeping their company or not. apparently, being one doesnât give you the strength to claim words such as âiâm his girlfriend.â artemis saw the questions in the visitorâs eyes about this whole set-up, but even she, herself, was still confused. nothing had been really easy ever since they met.
âthe window,â she repeated, nodding at his explanation while simultaneously taking the grocery out of the bags. it would not be her first attempt in cooking but there were no improvements either way, so itâs more likely the same. âgood choice. thereâs a key in the flower pot by the door, just in case you drop by again.â she glanced at him with a small smile. âeasier than the window.â
her odd scent might have been noticeable too. the ghouls she bumped into previously often told her about it, the human scent yet very much like them. first meetings are awkward and she didnât want to introduce that, besides he never asked. the blonde laughed at the question, few seconds passing as she moved over to the side to get a knife and chopping board. âno, iâm not attempting to be ill to skip work, mister. itâs just....routine. i donât know, to keep things a bit normal i guess.  and this morning, i was really craving for some spaghetti. it was crazy.âÂ

What? ||Â Hwan and Artemis
Andrew was an idiot, that was the conclusion he had come to. An idiot with the coordination of a drunk sea turtle and the brain power to go along with it. Shaking his head, he moved into the otherâs kitchen, glancing around for something resembling coffee. Instead, he found some aluminum foil and placed it into his bag. The payment was worth the tedious exercise of lessons. Why had he agreed to do this in the first place? Oh, right. To keep out of his own apartment more since his brother had started âvisiting.â Gods, he hated him, but couldnât do much about it. If he didnât go along, bye bye medication.
Kill him. One whispered. Itâll be fine after. Then finish the agents. Theyâre worthless. Urgh. Why now? He jerked his head sideways as if that would shake the voices out, but, as usual, it did no good.
Turning, he glanced toward the door as he heard it begin to open, expecting to see Andy and ready with an explanation on his tongue. Or an attack, it would be good practice. His kakuja snaked down one arm, ready to slash the personâs face open.
they already made it clear how their relationship works-- no attachments, no labels, just two people who like each other and spend time together as much as possible. obviously, artemis went past that stage (much to her dislike, though hopefully he doesnât know yet) and if one day, he asks to change the rules of the game in his favor, she will probably be more than willing to do so. Â
two grocery bags were held in both hands as the blonde made her way inside the apartment, some plans for spaghetti tonight was made just to keep things a bit normal even if both of them will definitely hate it. good thing was she managed to sneak a few bits of human meat from a good friend in hopes that it can help them go through the disgusting human food. besides, sheâs growing more hungry each day that passes.
however, her thoughts were shaken as she sensed something else going on in the kitchen. artemis approached with caution. did the ccg discover her relationship with andy?
âoh my god, you scared me.â she had one hand at her chest, clearly taken aback by the unexpected visitor in andyâs apartment and itâs not because a ghoul have infiltrated the overly-familiar place but the fact that someoneâs actually coming over to visit him now. âthatâs not the proper way to greet a lady, mister.â
she waved a hand in front of him, assuring the ghoul thereâs no danger as she picked up the dropped bags and walked over to the counter. âiâd like to ask how you got in but i donât think that matters now.â a smile lingers on her lips. âandy wonât be home until tonight. you can join us for dinner, if you want.â
Harvest Moon // Artemis
Gentleness spoke in volumes, slicing through the fractured voices inside his head always pulling him towards one extreme or the other. The alleyway was silent except for the dripping of blood, the little trickles pooling on the asphalt. He looked up and stared, like the hundreds upon hundreds of times heâd done before. That was the stare from when they first met, first kissed, first spent the night, first woke up tangled in sheets, and their first goodbye to the man he was before. That was the stare made in the middle of the crowd, where heâs lost everything and catches a glimmer of golden hair before its gone. âHave we met before?â he asked quietly. Through all the suffering, he still believed in a little thing called destiny.
Yijung stood slowly, seemingly weighed down by black clothes heavier now soaked in innocent blood. He moved towards her with quiet, hesitant footsteps. She needed to be approached with caution because he was afraid of talking to forbidden things, of things that made his creator unhappy. But, how else could he explain that he needed to talk to her? That right now, this woman was more important than a thousand Seokjins? âDo I know you from somewhere?â he asked, âIt feels like I do, but I canât remember.â
He searched and searched within himself for those memories, the snippets of happiness he didnât know existed. âIt mustâve been in a dream,â he said. Â Flickers of another life often flashed before his eyes, but that was a secret he never told Seokjin for fear of the punishment it would bring. Besides, that life belonged to someone weak. It couldnât be him. It couldnât be him because he was Yijung â he was made into someone strong, powerful, and lethal.
But right now, he didnât care.
âIt mustâve been in a dream,â he said, whispering once more, âBut I wish it were real.â Â Yijung wanted nothing more than the memories of weakness to belong to him. He never wanted anything more in his life, not even a meal for the painful days of starvation.
âI want it to be real.â
He cupped her cheek with a tender touch and leaned in, tilting his head as though to kiss her. But, he couldnât do it.Â
He was crying too hard.
âArtemis, tell me that this is real,â he said, âPlease, it has to be real.â
'have we met before?'
(yes, we have. maybe in another lifetime, as well.)
suddenly, she was enveloped in comforting warmth, as if the nostalgic event warped around her slender frame to gather memories that were shared by two people who met at the wrong place and the wrong time.
she thought she was strong enough; strong enough to hold on to this relationship and let go when needed be. strong enough to leave, tell him she's done playing around. strong enough to act like she never cared, that it's a one-time thing like many others, because the great ol' artemis don't do stupid things like love. love is weakness and she hated being weak.
'do i know you from somewhere?'
(yes. we've been together in a lot of places. we shared a lot of firsts together. we don't only know each other somewhere. we were everywhere.)
she looked at him with the same sad smile. the smile she always had when he bids goodbye by her front door, knowing they won't be together for a few days because of his work. the smile she had as she watched him tell stories about his parents, seeing how much he missed them and even her company could not do anything about it. the smile she had when she woke up in his arms, hearing his painful confession of being a ghoul after sharing a night and not being able to do anything about it but endure the truth in silence.
"i'm here, we both are." she whispered, leaning in to his strangely soothing cold touch. "you're not dreaming, andy. this is for real now."
it was unbearable to see him cry. the tears streaming down his face were like stains trying to ruin a masterpiece. her andy is way too precious to deserve something like this. "the moon missed her sun so much," she said, leaning in close to kiss his tears away. "tell him to not do it again. it makes the moon really, really sad; it makes her cry."
âwell yeah, i quite like surprises,â gieok laughed, then did his best to stay still as the ladyâs gentle hands tried to salvage what was left of his shirt. it would be much better to change, what with it feeling quite chilly around them, but no one really carried around an extra change of clothes. the way she phrased her words, piqued a curiosity in gieok, making him feel like asking her to surprise him would either make him regret it or make him love it. âoh. sounds kinky. do that often?â gieok replied, with a waggle of his eyebrows. see, he had never been one to pick up on the serious connotation that peopleâs words sometimes had.
artemis was quick in picking the pace. people like him, people like them, knew exactly when and where and how to have the right kind of fun. it just happened to look like itâs going to be a bit better because he seems like a really funny guy, and one who can take her silly jokes the way theyâre supposed to mean. âsurprises are exciting, mister.â she winked at him, rather playfully, giving the wet shirt a few more gentle pats before retracting her own handkerchief at hand. it would not dry this way. âi do lots of crazy things, some of them beyond your imagination even.â not to mention what she is. âthough how often i do it depends on which activity.â

Harvest Moon // Artemis
âWhat are you talking about?â he asked, âI donât know anyone named Andy. I thought you were talking to the corpse and I almost felt bad for killing your boyfriend, but you smell as nasty as I do â you wouldâve eaten him sooner or later. Consider it a favor.â As the head came flying towards him, he ducked with a gracefulness heâd never had in his life. No, anyone who knew him would expect him to fumble and get smacked in the face. âThe fuck was that for?â he snapped, âJust leave me alone, alright? Youâre mistaking me for someone else. My nameâs Yijung.â
Andy never swore, at least not so vehemently. On the rare occasion a minor curse escaped his lips, the word was always followed by a short gasp and fingertips hastily pressed to his lips. The savory sweetness was gone, replaced by an expression callous and indifferent. This monster crouching in a puddle of fresh blood, trembling through restraint of not devouring the body himself, wore Andrewâs doll-like face in mockery. Just as Kim Seokjin planned it to be, the body was only an empty vessel for Yijungâs soul. Â For the manipulation to work best, Andrew became a clean slate: no memories, no personal desires, no familial or friendly ties, and certainly not the British accent Artemis loved.
âWho cares about the CCG?â he asked, âWhatâs wrong with you? Are you hungry?â He glances down at the colder with earnesty and for a blissful second, his face softens into Andrewâs worrying look. However, the warmth melted from his face the moment his head snapped back up. âGo hunt on your own,â he said, âThese are for Jin-ssi.â
His brow furrowed â itâs foreign and strange to see it not pulled in honest confusion, but in irritation and rage â as he sucked in his breath. A slender hand thatâs cracked from endless labor and torture runs through his strands of ashen hair. Everything about him is rougher around the edges and heâs much stronger, having put on more muscle than Artemis saw him last. âLook, canât you see that Iâm in the middle of something? Go flip your blonde hair somewhere else because Iâm not interested,â he said, biting his tongue. As he dunked the heart into the cooler and brought his hands back up, a few of his fingers were mere stumps in the agonizing process of growing back. âI donât want to make Jin-ssi angry again.â
perhaps it was the expression on his face that held her feet stuck on the ground. she wanted to run towards him, to wrap her arms around him, to run her slender fingers on his now ashened-hair and tell him everything will be fine.
everything will be fine just as they made things work together, like before.
(a lie.)
this day was ought to come; where he is no longer the one chasing after her, where he is no longer the one who liked her better. and she would look at him, with those dark hazel eyes, only to realize that the trap she placed herself in was a trap impossible to escape from-- only with death. death is not an option now.
it wasnât the first time she had been rejected (actually, thereâs only one other time, two including this one)--â or if it could even be called rejection since technically, she was not really âflipping her blonde hairâ at him. god knows, she knew when and where to do that, years of being trained in a brothel owned by a ghoul actually made her an expert in that game. but andy spitting those words right at her face felt too painful that the things she had to say, that the things she would usually confidently say, remained at the back of her throat.
artemis sighed painfully, head throbbing with the sudden feeling of throwing her guts out. she gave her stomach a soothing rub to ease the pain. the raid has just ended, and fortunately, the fractures and injuries she suffered were only left now with a few scratches and fading bruises. with the countless lives ccg lost, her colleagues and officemates once upon a time, she would be considered lucky to go home with only those. at least, she's still alive. she has to be.
"andy," she finally spoke, in the most gentle tone she have ever used as she took a step back. this won't do. not now. "come back to me when you're you. there's something important we need to talk about."
m.i.a because of finals but now im baaaack ouo iâm not sure how many are still around but if you want to plot or keep the threads we have let me know and iâll get to them as soon as i can /flops

Andy inched forward, drooping closer and closer to the steering wheel until his forehead smacked the center. The car honked loud enough to scare birds from the trees and he bolted awake, just in time to hear the ending of whatever in the world Artemis had just said. âOh, I didnât want to wake you,â he said, âIt wouldnât be much fun running around by myself anyway, but letâs go!â
In his excitement, he practically dragged the poor woman out of the car. Andy slipped their hands together and twirled around, gawking at the endless sea of green grass like a child seeing Christmas lights for the first time. âLetâs go to that hill!â he said eagerly, âThen we can see the whole area!â The young man didnât wait for a response and took off running, everything a blur as he ran perhaps a little too fast than a human should be able to. It wouldnât matter anyway because he held tight to Artemisâ slender hand and in a matter of minutes, they reached the top. âArtemis! Artemis! Look how green it is!â he gasped, âDo you see all those trees? Look, you can see the sky hit the ground â no skyscrapers blocking anything! Artemis! Artemis! Is that a little farm over there? LOOK, I SEE A REAL DEER. Oh, I want to live here some day!â
the last time she ever stepped foot on the countryside was about two or three years ago; a mission for the quinx members who were still being trained and tested. they were experiments, test subjects, risky to mankind but easy to dispose if they do not function properly and so isolation was the best option . âitâs beautiful,â she commented, almost out of breath as she allowed him to drag her around; almond eyes taking in the maleâs overly excited face instead of the scenery he looked so happy about. never in her life did she think that making a person this happy can be easy, actually, she never thought it would even be possible for her to make anyone happy. the crescents locked at him automatically turned away when he spoke, too ashamed to get caught staring. they each play a role in this relationship-- andy just happened to be the cheesier one and she would not dream of stealing his spot. romance is for normal people, not her kind.
artemis glanced at their locked fingers, catching herself smiling at the small yet intimate act-- and mentally scolding herself seconds after for keeping her guard down for the nth time. but maybe andy had that effect on her, the feeling of security, the feeling of being a whole person. if it were that easy, living here, with him, would be something she would like to do as well. "it won't be long until sunset, i'm sure you'll love that even more."
hai hai~~ iâm also keeping this little blonde shit (might tweak some things though im still not sure). iâm dropping all of her threads except the ones that the muns want/might want to keep. so yeah if you wanna holla at me and fool around, you can contact me at aim (asujiboo) or kkt (daniedelions). we can do paras and stuff and pancakes idk anything actually ; u ;
Harvest Moon // Artemis
Andrew was the name of the person who belonged in the chair before him, as Seokjin told him many times before, and the very mention made the ghoul obliterate the human with extra zeal. The humanâs fingers twitched one last time as Andrewâs hands grasped the heart, then jerked his arm backwards to rip it out. He dropped the organ into the cooler and instinctively went to lick his hands, but stopped himself and wiped the blood on his pants.
âIs this human yours?â he asked, sounding indifferent. Andrew snapped off the head and rolled it in Artemisâ way, then glanced up at her. âShouldâve come faster, then I wouldnât have had to kill your Andy,â he said.
The face undoubtedly belonged to Andrew, although a permanent sadness lingered in his eyes and his expression made him appear broken. The body did too, although much sturdier and stronger after his escapades with the Aogiri. The kagune looked exactly like his, only pulsing with the unusual power of someone dining on a little more ghoul meat than he should. No, he wasnât even at the half-kakuja point but he was getting there.
What was different about Andrew is that for the first time, his face didnât light up when he saw Artemis.
artemis could see the red muscle cradled in his hand, still pumping and covered in blood, even from that distance. how was it possible for someone to still want to be in a personâs arms even after seeing him kill before your eyes? this person only bore the face of the andrew she grew too fond of, probably a little bit too much than what she would admit, but this person is different. heâs a monster (not to say she isnât one), one that she was too scared to see for herself, one of the many whose goal is solely to survive by consuming humans.
but it wasnât him killing an innocent that actually boiled her rage. instead of getting a call or a text from him, she got a strange call from jin using andyâs number, who had weirder questions on hand and a screaming voice at the background. how did they know each other? were they friends? she had no idea. if he were to cancel a date, he could at least have some manners and tell her directly instead of passing it to another person as if theyâre playing some message-relay game. artemis have never been mad at him. not once, until now. in a swift movement, she kicked the head back towards the ghoul, not even caring where or what it could hit. âwhat the fuck are you talking about?â she scoffed, eyes wide in disbelief with his response. âwhat the hell are you even doing here? are you insane? if the ccg catches you, they won't let you off. they will kill you right here, andy."
