sbt-kaede:
She felt relieved to know it really was the owner of the phone and not someone else she would have to explain all the misunderstanding to. Moreover, she thought it was so convenient that she could find her so soon and wouldn’t need to go to the police office to hand it in and let them do the work. She didn’t even think anymore she would be able to get her cellphone back, actually she was already resigned : she most likely lost it or someone stole it, otherwise there would have been a call way earlier. She still didn’t know how to explain that to her dad, who would probably be mad at her for losing such a precious item. They didn’t lack the money, but she stored so much personal information, as pictures, on that small device… She liked better not even thinking about it, it was too scary to imagine what would someone do with all of her social medias and everything. Why didn’t she locked it! When the other girl asked about her phone, she didn’t have clue. She was such in a rush to answer the phone that she didn’t check what number was calling. She pulled the device away from her ears and touched the screen to finally realize the other did have her phone, which made so much more relieved. Even the perspectives of that unfinished math homework couldn’t make her frown.
“Yes! That would be my phone! I’m so glad you have it! I thought someone stole it!” Her voice was even a bit shaky from the emotion. All of her fears drifted away and she felt quite serene. She could even let out a small laughter. “No need to be sorry! It could happen, no harm here!” She wouldn’t be resentful for something so small, even more when everything was already solved.
Kaede quickly agreed to meet up. It was not too late yet and if they would meet in the neighbourhood that wouldn’t be a problem for her parents. She told the girl in which area, Nerima, she was in, but she was worried it would be a bit far away for the girl… “Is that too far away? Should we meet up somewhere in between where I am and where you are? But then maybe Dad won’t let me go out tonight if it’s too far away…” She was a bit concerned with that. She really wanted to hand back the phone, but she was still so young even though she was about to turn 16 so soon. She bit her lip, a bit worried. According to the voice, that girl wasn’t so old herself, it was not that late, but still. Girls shouldn’t go away from home at night did she believe.
“It’s fine, it’s fine! I’m already an adult,” she was cheerful in her reply to the other girl. She wasn’t worried about having to travel down to meet up the owner of this phone in her hand. After all, she’s used to traveling alone or really, just about anything that could be done alone. “Narima, right? Then I should be able to get there with JR Oedo line...” She murmured to herself as she stopped by the map on the station, trying to figure out where she should stop. She hadn’t been around that area much as none of her friends lived there – but she did remembered having a shoot somehwere around there with the residential area as the background. But of course, she had travelled in car back then and it was not helping her current situation at all. As she pondered over her options, she realized that she had been keeping the call on, obviously using up the other’s balance. Miyu quickly apologized to the other end. “Ah sorry, I’ve been keeping the line on. Alright then, just tell me the address where you want to meet up and I’ll meet you there, okay? Oh! My name’s Miyu, by the way. What can I call you?” She was all smiles and knew that the girl on the phone with her could hear it in her voice. She had sounded so nervous and Miyu couldn’t help but wanting to alleviate those worries off her shoulders – her voice was so young after all. After listening to the other’s reply, she hung up the phone with a last “bai bai~” and rushed to get on the train that would take her back to her phone. The travel time was short – or it had felt short, at least, as she spent it by going over her work and personal schedules and making sure everything works out in terms of timing – and before she knew it, she had arrived at her destination. It was a small convenience store. She made her way into it and patted the shoulder of a girl who she assumed to be the one she had been talking to on her phone – she didn’t know of her looks but Miyu’s phone in her hands was enough evidence for her to conclude that. “Ah? Are you Kaede?”
