Getting through the Mermaid arc in the Greatest Estate Developer was so painful. All the mermaids were so unbelievably nasty to Lloyd that I couldn’t even get into it.

I know the running joke about Lloyd’s face but to ice him out just based on looks made me so aggravated. Telling him to look away while talking, ignoring him when he spoke? That’s not even remotely funny. It’s just mean spirited.

Like I didn’t even care that he took advantage of them for free labor cause that’s what they get! They deserve worst !

The mermaids are so unlikable. Like the worst race we’ve met so far. I hope we never have to see those assholes again. I’m so glad this arc is almost over!

As absolutely fucked up the BL side story is, I wondered how the Author feels knowing how popular it is considering Minho is the main draw.

I wonder how they feel knowing so many people thinks Minho’s a much better character than D**a, the main character who never grows or changes or turns into an actual decent fucking human being.

I wonder how they feel about how many people love and support and sympathize with Minho. How so many people want only his happiness.

I wonder how they feel about the fact that the character they based on a real person(and I don’t even want to unpack that), the character they created to be hated and abused and destroyed, has so many fans who hate how he is treated and hate their precious, amazing D**a for hurting him.

I hope it drives them up the fucking wall!

I haven't said any real complaints about the pacing for a while, hm?

Well..... it's back. Today's chapter is really just Cale extinguishing the fire. I checked the novel for comparison, and it's like the last 1/4 of chapter 79 and the first 1/3 or 1/4 of chapter 80.

Am I tired of complaining? Frankly, yes. I love TCF, so so much. And I love the art. It's gorgeous. But the pacing? Honestly, if I hadn't read the novel, I don't think I'd stick around each week because it feels boring. The early TCF arcs are quite slow, after all.

I'm just hoping the beautiful art can hook on a lot of people despite the pacing. TCF is just really good to miss, after all.

javier is so,,, calm about discovering that the son of the man he pledge his life to has been replaced by a complete stranger lmao

i really can't believe this is the reveal scene they decided to give us. just this. a half hearted question about where og lloyd is and whether lloyd replaced him intentionally or not. that was it.

where's the fucking conflict. where's the drama. where's the character development. where's the choice between given loyalty and earned trust. where's my cold hearted knight who weights the benefits to the family he swore allegiance to and sacrifices one son for the other.

what is this.

in the novel this reveal doesn't happen until one arc and a giant revelation later. lloyd doesn't even know it happened! javier outright contemplates whether he should kill lloyd or not! he's so shaken by the reveal that he tried to shut down any emotions he's feeling and focus purely on what the best thing for the frontera family is (he doesn't succeed). it's not that javier doesn't trust lloyd, he does, he trusts him so much it makes it hard for him to do his duty to arcos which is literally the most important thing for javier.

the reveal is a hard moment for javier! he's conflicted about it! he's divided between his loyalty to the frontera family, his trust in lloyd and what he thinks is best for the estate. he's being pulled in all kinds of directions and in the end he has to sacrifice the son of the man that saved him as a child to keep the man that saved them all and he's come to trust more than anyone in the world.

and part of the reason he does it is because after finding out he immediately gets reassurance that not only does lloyd not mean harm to arcos and marbella but he outright commits himself to taking care of them.

javier is loyal to a fault. his loyalty to the frontera family is absolute. for him to react so nonchalant about a member of the family being replaced and maybe even killed by a stranger, however helpful he may be, is just,,, out of character for him.

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s probably better for me to just read the tged novel since it appears I’m being deprived of delicious angst and conflict.

I’m getting disappointed by things I’m not even aware of. If I’m gonna be disappointed I need to be disappointed with context.
