I’ve started seeing Merlin x Arthur fanart that very much gives same vibes as Sel x Nick now I’ve arrived full circle back at the Bree x Nick or Annabeth x Percy confusion.
something i will always think about is the way woodbine chance HAUNTED haymitch! everyone talks about lenore dove and louella but he said i run for woodbine because he will never run again.

every time two male characters that the fandom ships don’t get together people say “we thought we were, for once, getting good rep” and every time I’m like. It is 2025. There are gay people on tv. Why are you going “for once.” “For once” watch Queer As Folk or Torchwood or Schitt’s Creek or Our Flag Means Death or Black Sails or, notably on tumblr these days, Heated Rivalry, and maybe you’ll calm down. Not even naming the canon gay characters people consider bad rep like Glee. If you were willing to care about women or experience non-TV media there are some more even!

this particular quote from whitney’s new interview made me extra emotional because it’s obvious how much she understands lenore dove.
lenore dove loves loudly. she has never shown indifference to the wellbeing of any of her people. every-time she acts, it is in an attempt to help them.
she is governed by her own feelings and by an intuition that urges her to intervene—to step in even when she herself is not involved—because she feels every social injustice as something personal, something lodged deep in her own soul. it is what led her to act the night before clay chance was to be reaped; what led her to set the panem flag on fire the night before her first reaping; what led her to step in and help woodbine’s ma when she was openly and cruelly denied the right to grieve her own son.
her emotional responses stem from that love, from how fiercely she values her community and the people within it.
lenore dove couldn’t have been in better hands, and i’m so incredibly excited to see whitney bring her to life next year!!!
In Sweden, we get our christmas gifts on Christmas Eve. So, this is my gift to the Legendborn fandom this year! Merry christmas and happy holidays, everyone <3 hope you all get some proper rest and time to prepare for the new year, and try to remember all the great things you've done this year! And, whatever hardship you faced this year, you made it through, and I am so proud of you ! 🥳👏✨️
On another note, here's some funny/wholesome headcanons I have about this comic:
Sel was a proud Monster Slipper wearer as a child, because he thought that it would intimidate the REAL monsters to see that he "made slippers" out of their kind
The silver rings he recieves from Nick are the same rings he wears in present day. They were way too big for him as a kid (pinky-ring only fit on his thumb/middle finger etc), and he got excited every time he found that he had grown enough for another ring to fit properly.
Nick went out and got those rings on his own from a Proper, Merlin-Approved Shop as a way of saying that he supports Sel's mission to become "the bestest Kingsmage ever" (even though Nick thinks that he already is 😌)
Both Nick and Sel had very beloved plush animals that they pretended to be their familiars when pretend-fighting demons before bed (and Anna came to tell them to quiet down and Go To Sleep) ⚔️
Sel still keeps the name-tag from this wrapping in a lil memory box deep in his wardrobe in the Lodge <3
