Modern California Ivy Vintage is the sister tumblr blog of Modern California Ivy (http://modcalifivy.tumblr.com). This version will focus on vintage pieces mostly from the 1960s and 1970s. Modern California Ivy Vintage also takes its style inspiration from primarily four sources: English Modernism, American Ivy League style of the mid-20th century--both of which were influenced by Italian design--and finally, from California, the origin of so much cultural influence worldwide. Modern California Ivy is partial to natural US and European made goods, however, it does not take a dogmatic approach when selecting items. Items made in other parts of the world as well as synthetic fabrics will make appearances. Modern California Ivy understands that not all fashion conscious wearers can afford the quality goods of many producers and therefore will strive to provide affordable yet stylish options for discernible dressers looking for clothes that make the wearer more confident. Modern California Ivy believes in recycling fashion because of value, but also because of its benefit to the environment. Men's Levi's Sta-Prest Green Brown Mod Tapered Pants 32x31 Once again, calling all Mods for the real deal. These Levi's Sta-Prest are originals from the 1960s. The fabric is not indicated, however, they feel like a Polyester blend. They are in good condition. The zipper is stiff but still functions. The cuffs appear to have been reinforced in the inside; this can be seen in the last photograph. There is a line where the pants appear to have been unhemmed and lengthened. Men's Vintage Carroll & Company Silk Patch Pocket Blazer Sport Coat 38R EUC This stunning jacket from West Coast Classic Menswear institution Carroll & Company is in excellent pre-owned condition. Because of its vintage age and the nature of the fabric there are snags. However, some say this adds to the character and quality of a jacket like this. Crafted from very nicely textured Silk, this vintage blazer/sport coat from Classic California Maker Carroll & Company is truly unique and impressive. Country of Origin is not indicated, however, this maker generally produces in Italy and the USA. It features Carroll & Company's customary paisley lining. Own a piece of Southern California haberdash, Trad, Ivy League, Preppy history with this Men’s Vintage 3-2 Roll Sack Seersucker Coat by Bill Winn. Bill Winn was a clothes shop in affluent San Marino, California, what made classic men’s clothing similar to Brooks Brothers and J. Press on the East Coast.

This is a very nice Seersucker Two-Button Sports Coat/Blazer that is Made in USA.

Jacket: Stratojack, vintage, thrifted, NWOT This jacket appears to be a copy of either the Catalina Varsity Jacket or the San Francisco Derby, both of which can be read about in an excellent article over at The Weejun, here. This particular iteration is reversible (the “other jacket” has two chest pockets with snap buttons), was made in Korea, and does not have a top button like those seen in the article referenced above.
