People change their names all the time, not just trans people - actors can change their name, people can write under a different name, etc. It’s completely fine to change your name, no matter the reason why! If you feel like a name change could give you the boost you need to move on and forward, then of course you can change it.

it’s absolutely okay! the pronouns you use are purely your choice and there’s no rule to follow or anything. every pronoun configuration is perfectly good and valid!

okay y’all here’s the deal:

i have a good friend in ohio who is willing to be my roommate when hes ready to move out. i live in florida, and although i have a car that could drive there, it’s under my mom’s name and if i move out without her consent (shes never gonna really consent me), she will report it as stolen. so, im now trying to make a plan to move out, assuming i make it a few months without being kicked out until my friend is ready to dip from his house.

currently, from the donations ive already received to keep me afloat in the event my mom snaps and kicks me out, i have around $130 (thank yall for reblogging and donating, it means SO DAMN MUCH that strangers will help me out like this.)

for the flight to ohio + first month’s rent at the apartments there (dave and i would be splitting rent, so $300 each), it comes up to around $1000 ($905 at the closest.) because i already have around $130, i’m asking for about $900. the closest flight to his city is $305, as seen here. (censored for his safety because people are wild)

as of now, may 16th 2019, i have $655.09 (holy shit) that is like. more money ive ever had in my name and also far more than i ever pictured myself with. i dont plan on spending it until im in ohio - unless some inevitable crazy shit comes up and i have to. dave and i are waiting for a reply from the apartment people, and we plan on moving out around june.

i plan on looking for a job as soon as i land and am able to. first month’s rent will be around $300, the flight will be around $160 ($460 already) so i’ll have $140 left for anything else. (food, and HOPEFULLY some type of therapy/counselor or some shit.) i realized that im going to need a phone plan, as well as insurance(?) which i have no experience with and im frankly terrified. i would also love at some point LOVE to get an emotional support animal (always wanted a therapy dog) since ya boi has ptsd and MAJOR anxiety. i dont even want to THINK abt transitioning right now, dream of having top surgery aside.

Hi! I'm sorry if this has been asked before, and I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't really understand the idea of nonbinary genders and was wondering if you were willing to explain it to me so that I can?

Sure! The best way I can think of doing it is by visualizing gender as a spectrum, where one of the extremities is "man" and the other is "woman", but there are a infinity of genders in between! The occidental culture especially, has a very strong gender binary and it's extremely difficult to fathom that there could be anything in between, but the truth is that things never are that simple and clean cut in life, and there are so many gender variations.

And, no, it's not just about not fitting into gender roles, there are women who don't subscribe to feminine gender roles at all, but it doesn't take away the fact that they're a woman. Same goes for men.

Try to think of how you feel about your gender: you know that it is who you are, and you're not anything else. It's the same for everyone else, including trans people and nonbinary people, we can feel who we are without question. It's not so much as not feeling like a man or a woman, at least for me personally, it's more about knowing that you're something completely different that doesn't fit in this binary.
