So I've seen the ad for this emerge today and thought it was worth sharing.

This is a competition for students and recent graduates of New Zealand design schools, in which they need to create a uniquely Kiwi design to be shown in Times Square (yes, in New York City).

They are picking 3 winners who will be flown out to NYC to see their work in lights. On top of that they'll win $5000 and footage from their moment in Times Square will be shown in New Zealand cinemas nationwide.

It's a pretty kick ass opportunity for a student or recent graduate. Spread the good word!

Awkward Set Moments

The other day one of the lighting boys was cleaning a bulb. It was leaning on his leg, at hip level, and he was gently stroking it with a rag. Then our eyes met. 

Use your imagination to conclude what that ACTUALLY looked like.

This has been an Awkward Set Moment.

Yup. I’m scheduling a music video with all the above.

Kids in basically every shot.

Kids can only work for 6 hours.

A brief explination

Hello friends!

I didn’t necessarily want to have this under the title of this blog forever, so I figured I’d post instead. This blog is all about the film business and those of us who are crazy enough to work in it. The real crazy one’s are AD’s. I’m one of them.

Most AD blogs are told from the perspective of the 1st AD, which is what I one day would like to be. For now, I’m a drama 3rd, commercial 2nd and music video 1st. So this particular blog is that of an AD on the rise.

I’m definitely not as seasoned as so many others, but I do know a thing or two and am happy to source and answer if I don’t already have it so please feel free to ask me anything.
