I wonder how would different versions of prowl’s relationship be like in different continuities or how would chainbreaker be in them, like you did with Jazz on how would he be with his conjunction in other continuities or soundwave’s son mayhem traveling to different realities to see his dad?
Thanks for the ask!
Masterlist
To be sincere, the whole situation Mayhem ended up was very stressful and traumatic, he just kept falling into the many wholes and connections from one reality to another, not all realities had a “Mayhem” so he was kicked out of them to prevent a worse collapse in reality, the possibility was there in some which he fell into, but not in the others (like the main and real IDW).
There are factors as to why this worked out in some universes and why it didn't in others, first, you need the creators to have these new sparks, terraformers in my AU are new sparks who scanned human DNA and cybertronian CNA, given that humans also have electromagnetic fields (EMF) that can connect with the EMF of a cybertronian spark, and the main reason is simple, in these realities the planet Earth is, in reality, Unicron.
Yeah, I really loved the first time when they threw this in the media, Earth being Unicron in disguise was just so surreal that I loved it, so with that in mind, let's go with our poster boy and his many more traumas about to come because of his daddy issues.
Chainbreaker, you have to understand, is a terraformer with a praxian frame (I like to think all praxians have the same frame, this is mainly because in IDW Prowl was cold constructed, maybe he was meant to have another frame, like Star, but we will never know), as such, he is an almost exact copy of Prowl when we talk from the point of looks.
Yet, much to some disbelief, Chainbreaker is very caring, be it to a person, another mech, or the bug he found on the floor, and to make matters “worse” he is an outlier, he is capable of creating semi-organic life forms with limited understanding of their existence that he can produce from his carbon fiber components, this only added more oddness to this weird praxian new spark that somehow has the processor and main drive of a medic unit caregiver.
So why didn't Chainbreaker go and make himself a caregiver instead of trying to become an officer? The answer is simple: Prowl.
Prowl had an undiagnosed and severe case of Male Postpartum Depression, as many things that had happened to Prowl along his life no one noticed, his conjunx and the constructicons did, but did he accept that something was wrong with him? No, he fought and withdrew every time the idea or suggestion of going to see a medic unit popped up, Prowl didn't have any confidence in anyone touching him out of this group on that point of his life, he had been rewired against his will, taken and shaped, he didn't want a psychiatrist trying to pry open things that were supposed to be only his.
Yet, he had to admit to having problems when he was still referring to Chainbreaker like a “it” in place of “he”, even when the sparkling was old enough to be taking military-grade classes, this constant pushing made Chainbreaker want to be closer to his father even when Prow wanted to be away from him, he loved Chainbreaker, Prowl was sure of it, but he wasn't sure if he loved him because he had to or because “it” was really his, and his misdirected love ends up showing in control, he has a set path for his sparkling, to prevent anything that can take him away yet give him a powerful stance to never be seized away.
Prowl was there when his own “son” was “born”, Prowl was there when Chainbreaker almost killed you stopping your heart when he emerged, Prowl was there to hold the sparkling in his first few hours of existence while you were hooked up to machines that helped you be alive, Prowl was there, on a cold chair, looking at you need a ventilator to still be alive while he could feel your shared bond hang from a fine line while the “thing” that almost killed you was taking shape in his arms because of course it still needed warmth to not decay away. You thought his constant refusal to take Chainbreaker back on his arms was due to the stress of the whole situation; no one would have known that an organic “problem” could affect a Cybertronian.
That's the main point of Chainbreaker having serious daddy issues, and now we can begin with the Prowl verse.
Let's be clear with it, while Mayhem took the whole deal quite badly I could see CB still trying to be optimistic, even if he has fallen into the worst facets of his father, he has experienced worse in his life.
G1! Prowl is the one to put him on the edge most of the time, his father fussing over him by a dent made when he came, not even knowing CB is his? Searching for any more and promising to get him patched up soon? It's so weird that Chainbreaker has a hard time believing this is really his father, a version of him, yet his father all the same, he is still strict for the time he is there, telling him about curfews and so on, but gentle in a way that feels foreign, it is nice, to feel so close to this version of his dad, so when he clips out to another reality, he wants to see this version someday again.
He will never know that G1! Prowl died still asking himself why he felt so close to that young mech that appeared as fast as he came.
Now, maybe RID2001! Prowl is the one that makes him feel less homesick, in a way, at least, he sure is less hard than his father, but he still has a lot of rules and so on, yet it is familiar, and after so long away in missions, Chainbreaker can't stop himself from hugging RID2001! Prowl, surprised by how this one only stiffens before patting a servo over the new spark’s pauldron, one arm trying to hold him the best that he can, maybe bewildered by this strange display of human affection coming from a cybertronian, softening his vox as he asks if he is okay with real concern, he doesn't feel the pull, the familiar sense so similar to him, his brothers, for another part, you bet that they do.
What baffles him is the existence of X-Brawn and Side Burn, who know that Chainbreaker feels like a human and another thing that is way too familiar, and then they look at Prowl, and he smells and feels the same under all those things he uses to appear professional, X-Brawn blue screens, and Side Burn screams, because what do you mean Prowl of all mechs had some before him?!
Chainbreaker tries never to say who his other creator is, no matter how many times Side Burn asks or how RID2001! Prowl denies ever looking at a human like that, they are to be protected! Not to… to that!
While their younger brother keeps pestering the one in the middle, X-Brawn, ever the gentlemech of few words, sincerely comes to Chainbreaker and asks if his tanks are full with a servo holding a cube of energon, he doesn't care if he is one of his little brothers’ secret affair child or not, he is a new spark, even younger than Side Burn, and he has raised two brothers already, he knows when a new spark is starving.
It hurts a little, when they all notice Chainbreaker is just gone, “So unfair!”, Side Burn kicks the soil, not knowing that CB just clipped out to another reality, “Look, I don't care if you want to keep your business or the missus out of the public, but you can't just hide my nephew away from us! He is so grown already! I missed very important moments of his development!”
Prowl, still trying to figure out who Chainbreaker was, screams right back, “I have never seen that mech before in my life!”
Side Burn didn't let it go, “I’m destined to be the cool uncle! YOU TOOK THAT AWAY FROM ME!”
When you happen to come by them with news from Optimus, Prowl has little time to stop his door wings from jumping up in the same way his spark does when he sees you, he can't even utter a word when Side Burn fumes rubber to get to you first, “You will wanna hear this! Prowl has a secret child!”, You stop, dead cold, not moving, Prowl screams in absolute silence and horror, spark plummeting, X-Brawn can't believe Side Burn had the bearings to say it out loud to you of all people.
“WAT” the wording is wrong, your brain can't understand, Prowl wants to die.
“You heard me right!”, Side Burn nods to himself, pointing at his brother who is minutes away from collapsing, “kept him away from us and everything, acting like mister perfect with a secret lover and secret child!”, you look at Prowl, he looks at you, his battle mask retracts, his dermas are trembling just like his wings, at a total loss of words, “a total two-faced liar, am I right?”
X-Brawn can see you blink a lot, fast, thinking, and just bailing on them, giving your back, and think “oh frag…” because he knows Prowl has a thing for you, a very massive and too real and too pure for this world kind of thing, he has found too many indications around and acts like he knows nothing for his brother’s sanity, Side has no idea, if he did he would have never done what he just did: Put his brother like a married mech with a whole secret family, making you run away from him as he is a taken man; in reality you want to figure out in silence how come cybertronians reproduce, because somehow you were confirmed that they can?? Side Burn asks himself if he pushed too much (he did), not knowing that in reality, you were wondering how that worked, was it like humans? Like how the factories made cars?? And who says you can't ask Optimus about it??? X-Brawn watches RID2001! Prowl fall to his knees, arms outstretched to you, “it's not-!”, RID2001! Prowl doesn't even know what to say, how can it be, it doesn't make sense! But he swears! he has never-! He never-! with no one! You’re all he can think about! Truly! “I-!”
You are gone, with a thousand possibilities in mind, too focused on the supposed idea of chubby, tiny baby cybertronians as RID2001! Prowl covers his faceplate with both servos, door wings fallen, trembling on his knees on the floor, Side Burn returns to his brothers, sheepishly asking if Prowl is okay, X-Brawn sighs from the spark, watching their younger brother fuss over a silently crying Prowl because it is all over for him before he even asked you out on a date.
EarthSpark! Prowl is very much surprised when he comes in contact with Chainbreaker, he doesn't know what to say, or even what to think, and like Mo said: “he said nope” completed with a peace sign.
Who is in charge of him? It is Optimus once he notices that Bumblebee has his servos full with the terrans and the human kids, which doesn't make things better, the older mechs try to understand him, why he is here or how, Chainbreaker can't say much, only what is on the surface, he is a new spark, he produces life, he produces oxygen, that's just what he is, Optimus understands what he can, trying to keep him calm when Megatron tried to see him too, CB was startled, he knew what and who Megatron was in his reality, and seeing him here makes him react badly, his father told him again and again how dangerous he was, that wouldn't change here, even when the old mech looked sad upon him.
“Worry not”, Optimus said, “he won't hurt you, he only wanted to ask if you came from Cybertron”.
CB does, but not their Cybertron.
When he simply goes away ES! Prowl returned, Optimus didn't even say much, “he wanted to talk to you”, is all, while he just collected the things he gave the new spark, ES! Prowl looks at the used berth, he can still feel the pull of recognition, and he puts it away quickly.
He is a mech with a mission, he can't entertain himself with these, he can't.
For when Chainbreaker falls into the Animated reality, well, it is hard, he falls on Cybertron and not many give a double check when they notice his autobot frame even when he is surprised by his new motorcycle alt mode.
He is surprised to learn that Animated! Prowl is long gone, just to then be curious, who was he, did he love someone, did he lose too much when he became part of the allspark? Chainbreaker may never meet Animated! Prowl, but until he clips out of this reality, he somehow can feel someone hugging him for all the time he is there, and it is very warm.
Maybe SG! Prowl makes him slightly doubt whether this is really his father as this version takes hold of him, servo pressing his faceplate from one side to the other, checking just to be sure, and yes, they are almost exact copies, which makes SG! Prowl is both excited by this mystery and disturbed at the same time once he pushes his way into knowing after taking by force some samples from this supposed new spark of his. A human partner, who would have believed? Just now he had worries about how to increase the number of his followers and it turns out he could use the humans for it? Chainbreaker is, for the first time in his life, scared of his father, this version of him, as his real father would rather kill himself than create a new life with you, so Chainbreaker, believing that if this mech is somehow a version of his father, then he would never push you through it if such an ordeal meant to lose you.
Foolish as he is, because if there's something Chainbreaker never doubts about his father is that he loves you, he loved you so much that sometimes it feels like there was no place for anyone else, all his life he has seen it, lived through it, and he is sure that when SG! Prowl knows who you are in this reality he may love you too.
“One human for only one of you? Well, guess it’s worth the try”.
For once, a version of Prowl chooses Chainbreaker over you, SG! Prowl decides that an outlier that could mass-produce an army without a mind is far more valuable than a human, for once, Chainbreaker finally sees this version of his father for what it really is, a bastard that can't care, and even ponders right in front of him that once your body has served his purpose he will discard you and find another human, because humans can produce outliers? It is worth trying as Chainbreaker is taken back harshly into a lot of light, away from that nightmare.
Chainbreaker has little time to understand, he hears vents, fast and heavy, and then he sees green, noticing a helm he knows all too well, “Brother?”
Springer holds him for a long time, his spark is fussing with a lot of fear and shame and so much relief by getting there just in time, “You’re okay!”, Springer coughs out, “Primus, you’re okay”.
SG! Prowl can't understand what just happened, was that another reality traveler? Weird, he may delve into that later, now, as he looks at the report, he may have to change his plans, as you seem to be registered as deceased after many of Prime’s outbursts on your planet, well, he will just have to make do with the rest of your dying race.
Springer doesn't let go of Chainbreaker for a long while, but he has to do so, as he guides him out, and he catches the youngling see at a corridor that leads to you and Prowl, “they’re gone”, he mourns, “those aren't them”, he explains again to his little brother, and Chainbreaker can only say “I know” before following him to the waiting arms of the constructicons that cry all over him and a tiny spider keeps in the shadows but also sobs in relief.
He still has them, he has them, and that's everything for him.
Gestalt teams and human partners
Masterlist
If you believed Megatron had the worst headache imaginable due to the stupid actions of the gestalt he ordered to be made then you have no idea how Optimus goes along with the gestalt on his own side while being part of one at the time!
Superion
First of the Autobots combiners, and also the first one to crack up the answer to all of the problems a combiner can have, do your components fight or hate each other? Then shut them up and use their frames like puppets, may sound harsh but hey, it works! It drains them mentally and physically, and the bond is so closed off that sometimes it is just silence and darkness, until one of them wants to show off his lover right in front of everyone else with his usual lack of ability to read the room.
Superior is the second-best combiner in matters of movement and decision-making, but it does take a toll on his components to let him exist. All he needs is their desire to crush the decepticons for good under their fists, their frames to exist and their sparks to keep going. He doesn't care who is trying to fool around with a human (it is Fireflight), he doesn't care for the reasons (oh, but Fireflight wanted to talk and show so much about you), all he needs from all his components is the single idea of winning, that's it (Fireflight wants to kiss you so much).
Air Raid is also interested once, much to Superion’s dismay, Fireflight and his affection towards you seem to spill into the bond at least once and, as the foolish romantic apparently is, all he can think about is you, it's a flash pushed to all their face plates, came fast and gone fast because he wants it like that, but the thing goes down bad because he can feel his components go silent until Air Raid goes “Damn!” and Superion feels a burst of heat coming from somewhere, keeping it down was the best course of action at that point, even when it gave curiosity to his components he pushed it down until it was almost suffocating, until the thing pushed up once again. All in all, he has done a good job keeping these infestations away from one another, and only once has he been in your presence while you wait for Fireflight, and okay, he concedes you look ok as his sparks spin a little too fast.
“Who was it?”, Silverbolt, both exhausted and bothered, watches over the rest of his team, “because not everything came from him”, he points at Fireflight, who goes running to his “human-friend” to then kiss you like the world may end tomorrow, making them all watch with different kinds of horror and horny because why is Fireflight being so loud? Silverbolt has had enough and tells Fireflight to go get a room, which he takes personally as he grabs you and takes you away, much to their surprise, to the living units.
They were both surprised, slightly aroused, and kind of repulsed.
So, that little extra something may have come from Air Raid, who is always game for anything that may convey an adventure. Slingshot, for once, is quiet, looking incredibly sheepish, something weird for him, Skydive seems clicks away from combustion.
“Who says it wasn't Superion?”
Superior took that personally, and refused to attach Skydive for his insolence, Fireflight too because he is infecting the rest! “Superior doesn't want a human!”, he states, just to go silent when you appear once again to see your boyfriend.
Defensor
Some could say Defensor is one of the combiners who has handled the situation the best there could be, some say he is acting like a sheltered mech whose seal hasn't been breached yet. Defensor components vary a lot in terms of personality and drives, but they defend, he defends, that's their thing!
Apparently hide and trying to be invisible is also his thing when you appear on the dock.
Their gestalt bond isn't as invasive as the rest of the combiners, so they have a good amount of internal privacy, and also no idea where the filter of affection comes from every time you come along as part of your work (many humans are on watch to alert if any combiner gets out of control), Blades has sworn in the name of his favorite Decepticon massacre that it isn't his deal, and that anyone who doubts him about it will be gutted by his own servos, “squishies aren't my type, period”; Groove is a mech of word, even if he knew who it was he will not rat someone out, it ain't him but he won't judge, love is love for him, “could even be Defensor, who knows?” (it is Defensor); Streetwise takes a minute, thinks back again to the human, much to the others' dismay goes: “I mean, I get it, I get it, but no, it ain't me”; First Aid doesn't count because everyone and their creator knows he has a thing for Springer and no one doubts him when he says it wasn't him, at first then didn't even ask him to begin with; Hot Spot is still trying to see the possibilities of where the affection is coming while trying to appear casual in the whole problem while also thinking about how to control Defensor better, because he can't be acting like this all the time, was strange but he had to ask you to stop coming to supervise them, only to then almost beg you to change back your shift and come back because none of them wanted to handle a sad Defensor when the combiner knew what happened, they already have enough on their plate while being one of the few combiners still active and in duty, they can't dump a miserable combiner into the deal, much less one that doesn't want to work, or the whole toll it takes on them, because what do you mean they feel this disturbance and gloom?
“Who do you think it is?”, a random autobot working in the combiner station asked his decepticon fellow worker, who only did a 50/50 with a servo.
“I'm up with it being all Defensor or Groove”.
The autobot laughed, “No way, combiners don't have that kind of thing”.
Combiners do have that kind of thing going on, as Defensor once again tried to cower away from you, with just the right angle to keep looking where you went, the decepticon opened his servo as the autobot paid 50 shanix, while a neutral scientist didn't stop screaming how revolutionary the discovery was, and that it wasn't time to make bets in the discovery of a century.
The bet is down, and the rest of autobots and decepticons that like gossip are waiting for an answer because they all can't be lying to their faces, not even knowing you? Lies! How can they be saying that while Defensor smiles like that every time you come along?
Sky Reign
Well, let's be honest about this combiner in particular, Sky Reign is very volatile, not inclined to wrath or irritation, no, it is just that since Sky Lynx is its main component he is given a great physical strength, even more than he can sometimes remember he has, prone to being clumsy, terribly so, as none of the components wanted to be in the same body in the first place, and those same components aren't that well adjusted to having such a big frame in comparison to Sky Lynx.
Yet, Sky Reign can't, and I mean can't, keep it down when he thinks of something too much, or if he likes something too much.
And yeah, Thundercracker’s “conjunx” is the first to pop up in the matter, have in mind how in that time he wasn't really in a relationship, he wanted to, and some of that was perceived into the bond, making him wish to disappear when Cosmos was the first to notice, “what the-”
“Don't organic-shame me!”
Both Slugslinger and Sunstreaker were quiet, at least for once, the enigma wasn't that corrupting to their bond, so all that Sky Reign got were a few glances here and there, nothing too crazy.
But mech, he liked it, and still wanted more of it, which didn't go that well as it seemed that Thundercracker was a jealous mech.
“You have no right to see into my mind!”, he would screech, finally behaving like his frame type, Sky Reign still wanted to know, it got so bad that he tried to force it open, to all of them, finding nothing but a few things in between before finally settling again on Thundercracker, who just got enough and severed the bond, making them all fall once the combination ended on his end.
Out of respect for Thundercracker, no one said much, and no one tried to think about it, it was as weird as it could get, Cosmos tried to not think about it while Slugslinger took a more “wow, really? A fleshie?” approach, Sunstreaker doesn't count because he has his own demons and wanted nothing to do with this, if anything, the moment Thundercracker’s human’s face popped up he went into total chaos internally, he didn't want to think about that human, not during the bond, not ever, he had his own problems with another human and having TC’s right in his face plate made him sick (somehow, it felt like cheating for him), so no, no one would look into him and his secrets, if the seeker couldn't keep it down then he would.
Sky Lynx, for another part, was delighted.
“Young love is something to rejoice in!”, the ancient and giant mech would laugh, it wasn't with malice, he was truly happy, which somehow made it worse because Thundercracker couldn't be mad with him, “Been a while since such feelings touched my spark, but it's so beautiful nonetheless”. Somehow, his whole speech kept on and on, to the point of finally making Thundercracker never want to form Sky Reign again, but they had to if they didn't want any lasting damage, so, does anything change for this combiner when TC finally gets together with his human intended?
“Knew they would fall sooner or later!”
No one knows where that came from, but all of them were mortified, except Sky Lynx, who said he couldn't be so crass as to say such a thing, they are still sorting things out, much more so since TC got a human child as an iron apprentice.
Curiously enough, after Max appeared in TC’s life, Sunstreaker had Solar not much later.
Optimus Maximus
Look, the thing with this Gestalt is very difficult, Maximus was created in a very hard situation, Optimus and Prowl in the same combiner while Prowl has a warrant and Optimus wants to make him “see the right side”? Mirage and Sunstreaker trapped in the same body after what Sunstreaker did to Mirage?? Ironhide in the middle of both messes and being the only component keeping everyone in one piece and barely sane?? While Devastator tries to kill them for taking Prowl and Prowl too because he is (involuntarily, again) part of another combiner????
Terrible scenario, no matter how much Optimus tries to say otherwise, it was a terrible situation.
Alright, this time at least it wasn't Prowl’s fault.
It was Sunstreaker’s.
And Mirage is traumatized for years to come and suddenly he wants an organic blanket badly.
Maximus doesn't exactly have a filter, he was made by force, with good intentions to rebuke Starscream’s power, yes, but all components except for Prowl were forced into it, there were no inhibitors and to this day you can see some traces that one mech has left in the other.
You see, first time Maximus was formed there wasn't much to cover from one another and other things were more pressing than others: Sunstreaker’s “thing” (failed conjunx ritus by his trauma and PTSD, and organic phobia) with you going back years? Yeah, that wasn't the most important thing as Devastator tried to kill them, if anything everyone was more worried about Prowl’s mind being shared with Optimus’, funnily enough, not much came from it.
Oh, but when combined again for their own mental health? Optimus Maximus was, for lack of better words, a mess. He was feeling sad and miserable, acting as if he was searching for something that seemed to be missing from his life. Maximus was alive only two times, and none of those instances were longer than an hour each. Where did that feeling of softness and a human face come from? Where did this sorrow come from?
“Who was that human?” Optimus and Prowl were dumbfounded, because of how, where, and when, how? Alright, maybe those last questions were mostly Prime but he didn't believe something like that would be possible (remember he didn't have an idea of Sideswipe having a human along with him in the battleground, Bumblebee did, and never told Optimus, ay); “Why that human?” Ironhide almost had a migraine when he recognized Sideswipe's human friend and realized that, yes, twin sparks do go for the same thing; “Why a HUMAN?” Mirage didn't get it and he didn't want to for years to come, thank you very much.
“Why ME?”, Sunstreaker tried to act like things were normal (they weren't) and then refused to combine for years to come, only forced by his brother and his pet because: “your processor is going to melt or you’ll become even crazier and Primus knows not me or Bob are going along your bullshit!”
Ironically, Optimus Maximus is the only combiner that has never seen the human lover or had one by himself, took years, and, once after a lot of discussion and constant back and forth, after years of only looking down at his servos, Sunstreaker finally permitted Sideswipe to bring you along, and Optimus Maximus smiled under his battle mask for the first time in his existence.
Does this have to do with Optimus’ or Prowl’s interest in humans years later? Did it start here for them? No one knows, and Sunstreaker wants to believe he didn't do this to two of his former bosses. What happens when Maximus comes in contact with any of their kids? Unlike Devastator, he knows they are not his. Codexia, Chainbreaker, Steerchanger, and Solar are all connected to him in some way, but he knows they aren't his, which brings a bittersweet feeling to his shared sparks. Still, he is happy to see how much they’ve grown every time he forms again.
To this day, if Mirage catches himself looking at a human too long, he immediately goes “ah- no, brother, no way in hell, nope!”.
The moment he starts dating humans, Ironhide is going to laugh at him.

Vanished sparks
Masterlist
No insecticon new spark makes a noise when they are still vulnerable, they are quiet, not even trying to get a reaction from their brothers and sisters, much less when as tiny as this one, if his project was successful, then this one new spark would have been surrounded by multiple siblings, but also the one to be most likely devoured in the first hours of existence outside your womb.
The opposite happened, even when it wasn't in your specimen’s nature.
It was a surprise when Cloudjolt consumed his brothers and sisters inside your womb, and for that, Bombshell already considers him an acceptable specimen for the hive after the achievement since such a young existence, no matter that he cries so loud and keeps being so helpless, that's the type of brutality he expected from your human nature being inherited by their sparklings, not caring for Sharpnel’s disgruntled attitude since they realized what was happening inside you, or Kickback’s dismay when he realized none of his own spawns survived, not even Bombshell’s survived, but you don't see him scattering away from their last hope of increasing their numbers.
If anything, Sharpnel should be delighted: his lineage continues and has inherited the beastliness bestowed upon your DNA by Unicron himself. The sparkling hasn't even formed a full faceplate yet it has already consumed the spark of others, and if this one survives, then they can try again with better restrictions.
Bombshell has never doubted his work, not even once, but he admits to feeling out of the depths of his knowledge when handling this protoform, it has been cycles since you saw death in the face and returned with your only child between your legs, he could understand the soft texture of the protoform as a way to not get stuck during the expulsion process, but it is still so vulnerable that makes him sick, his sharp talons had to be cut, he can't even growl around it if he doesn't want it to fuss for hours in a display of weakness that only should point to one thing: Cloudjolt, in a full hive, would have been consumed to give way to a better faring new spark.
Yet, he is all they have.
And even more important, Bombshell realizes as you wake, that you would never let them near you if Sharpnel did the right thing and consumed Cloudjolt, humans are so attached, he is reminded of such as he returns your child to your still tired arms, but your EMF, while exhausted, is full of devotion for that weak pile of protoform that makes sounds they can't understand. Sometimes he entertained this idea, tell you what your precious “baby” has done to your other new sparks, but decides against it, your humour and sanity seem to be but a fine line away from breaking since this started, and he has read as much information about human carriers to know you could be a step away from abandoning them forever if something happened to your new spark, and no, Bombshell isn't referring to running away for as much as Kickback wants to believe, he has already made peace to one day return and find you with a rope around your neck, as it is stipulated as one of the many ways humans end their existence, he would, anyway, use your body if he could to keep it alive, after Cloudjolt he knows your body has become his best project ever, an organic body that can create and sustain new sparks and collect protoform, without the decay or energon poisoning, he loves you even more after noticing how your EMF could soothe the protoform faster than anything, something to do with your heartbeat working as a biological modulator that can reign your creation.
Megatron looked down on humanity for so long, Shockwave waved them away as just energon sources, Bombshell is recovering his whole sub-species with you.
Humans' maturing process goes more slowly than cybertronians in terms of the mind, your species has to be 1/4 of their lives to only then have a really valuable decision-making response, yet your body ages so fast, 100 years being a number he has come by more than once, an insecticon is supposed to be aware of its existence once the second plating hardens, around the 1/1000 of their expected life, and Cloudjolt is already forming a faceplate.
Bombshell is sure that he will leave the nest for the first time in no time.
How long will it take your body to heal? He isn't sure yet, but the numbers look good, maybe in 5 Earth years they can try again, or 7 if he wants to play it more safely, giving time for them to adjust to this abomination of their own making, once his plating hardens enough Cloudjolt was passed around outside of the nursery only you and Bombshell entered, he could move around the nest at his own pleasure, still prohibited from going outside, with no fear to cling to his sire’s side, no fear as Sharpnel hissed at him, Cloudjolt laughed with joy only newborns of your species have, smiling like you, smelling like you, Sharpnel resented Cloudjolt for killing his brothers and sisters, the future of the hive, but if he was indeed the winner then there was nothing to resent in the first place, he takes hold of him the same way you and Bombshell do and looks how he kicks his limbs out as if it was a game, being passed around to Kickback who only has to smell you in him and that sweet fragrance coming from his helm to forget his tiny denta tearing down the sparks and protoform of his own spawns.
And yes, you’re worth enough to wait until Cloudjolt frees himself of his restrictions, Bombshell made it so he could want to release himself to the world sooner rather than later, leaving a free way for them to try again.
They had learned what to expect, what could happen, and what they had to do to make them reach independence sooner.
When Rebound emerges from your flesh, Bombshell is delighted to notice she is a femme from the start, he made it more controlled, letting only one spark to start and end, letting her be even bigger and more mature than Cloudjolt in the first hours of life. Kickback almost tried to attack him, as a more developed sparkling meant more pain in your body, not caring that Rebound was his for a moment, not caring that he sired the first possible insecticon queen in millennia, Kickback goes to Sharpnel’s side right next to your destroyed body, leaving the quiet sparkling in his hold.
That was the second abnormality of your second child.
Rebound was bigger, quieter, her colors show faster and her first plating is coming only hours later, for a moment you respond to her just as you did with Cloudjolt until it happens.
You were weak, you were bedbound, and the moment they left you, only for a moment, Bombshell swears it was only for a moment, Rebound took the opportunity and tried to consume you. Queens of different hives fight, all the time, be it for food, be it for territory, be it for consorts, in all their history an attack of such nature has come from the same hive, she is only a few hours old but that didn't stop them from almost consuming their own sparkling for almost killing you, yet you took it upon yourself like it was an accident as if your wounds weren’t dripping in the nest.
Bigger, stronger, Rebound gave Bombshell pride as much as Sharpnel hated her and Kickback feared her.
Fast, way faster than Cloudjolt, there was no time to nurse her as they did him, no time to form her, you may think it is normal for her to be so big but all three of them are flabbergasted by the way she just doesn't stop growing, Bombshell knew your DNA has almost lost traces of many living and extinct things of this planet, Cloudjolt has the alt mode of a giant beetle with an even bigger horn, but Rebound is large, so large that her body goes in fragments and limbs that seem to never end. Rebound was going along the last steps of adjusting her last plating change when she had the gall to drag Sharpnel into combat for the leadership after you gave life again, for a moment, your soft nature rubbed into their leader almost makes him give up, this is their daughter, the first queen in millennia, the future they desperately wished for so long, yet Rebound hardly has anything from you, there isn't the smile you and Cloudjolt share, there aren't those big optics full of curiosity or the sweet calls asking for soft affection.
There is no softness while her almost blind alt mode trashes Sharpnel around, bending his armor, biting into him, hiss and trash as her long frame keeps pining him to the walls of the hideout until she drags him near the nest rooms, destroying her own nest in the mess, you can't even get near for you are sure to die from how they are crashing, Bombshell and Kickback can't interrupt as this is a fight for the leadership, if Sharpnel wins, he has to kill Rebound, make of her deviancy and her massacred frame a warning for the rest of them, if Rebound wins, she has the right to kill you and take your place, she has the right to kill and consume Jawdropper who only has a short time of existence as he could be a menace to her reign.
Rebound is a menace for the hive, she is a menace for their young if Cloudjolt decides to come back and she looks at the direction Jawdropper’s nest is, such a thing has never happened to any hive, not from the inside, such treason is simply dreadful and abnormal, and Sharpnel hardly has time to realize what he has done when he hears you cry and beg and Kickback starts to scream in agony.
It is only the insecticon way, any danger is to be neutralized fast, it has to be destroyed, yet your human softness has rubbed too much into them, for better or worse, Sharpnel has to calm his anger to realize Rebound's big frame nestled in herself, trying to hide her severed, bleeding limbs or the burned parts along her body, he has been lenient, far more than she deserved as he eats her limbs still hanging from his intake, the crunch of metal bending and being minced in by his denta a mercy, but with how you and Kickback run for her he may as well massacred her, ripped her spark out, not letting her cry for the first time in her short life by finally be put in her place as you scream: “she is only ten years old!”
Your ten-year-old creature opened his spark chamber and almost consumed him, but sure, she is still a baby, “it had to be done- done”, Sharpnel assures you as he rubs his faceplate onto you, smearing her weird-smelling energon all over your head as he crowns you as their queen again, his victory is yours, everyone can see his spark flicking and he doesn't give a fuck, what he worries about now is that his young is terrible at fighting even with such advantage, “she has to be done this way- way”.
Kickback sulks for a while, but even if he resents him, he accepts what his spawn has done, and is the second to comfort you: “She will stay, she can stay, Sharpnel is letting her stay until she matures enough, then we will find her any mech she wants” as Rebound cries out: “mommy! Daddy!” as you hug what you can of her during her misery, trying not to touch the electrocuted parts of her frame as it makes her cry harder.
A single tantrum from Rebound almost killed Sharpnel, which left Bombshell looking over to Jawdropper’s nesting room, he is still small, his protoform is still warm, yet Bombshell’s now sharp talons tingle while looking at him recharging so sweetly, he is his spawn, yet what is it to come from fusing their CNA and your hostile DNA? Cloudjolt is like a natural killer with a cybertronian frame and the softness of a human, Rebound is a literal monstrosity at such a short age and she keeps growing, what is to be expected from their youngest?
Behind his battle mask, Bombshell smiles gleefully, hearing Rebound’s pitiful crying for the first time and your sobs as you try to soothe her, he can hear Kickback trying to sing for his spawn of Unicron, and Sharpnel still cleaning himself of the spilled energon of their young, “I expect nothing but the worst from you”, he whispers, not caring that Sharpnel growls at him in warning or the soft thrill coming from Jawdropper.
.
If you’re curious:
Cloudjolt is Sharpnel’s, the oldest, he is a Hercules beetle, and by insecticon standard he is big, has mama’s almost exact face but in cybertronian, has black and purple with orange in place of yellow, he is more or less in his twenties, they believed he was the hardest until his sister was born, then they realized he was an angel.
Rebound is Kickback’s, the first insecticon queen in thousands of years, she is an arthropleura, her colors are exactly like Kickback’s, by insecticon standard she is massive and is only ten, she is still growing, the best at changing sizes, once she starts her reproductive cycle they will drag mechs to their nest so she can start her work as a queen.
Jawdropper is Bombshell’s, the baby so far, only a few days old, almost a month, still no colors or alt mode, everyone but Bombshell prays he isn't another freak of nature.

You know how humans raise their children? Every individual is different in every way; some follow the same teachings of their parents, others stray from those same teachings, bowing above and below, never to do what was made to be done to their children, even when it goes against their own upbringing. Sometimes, they raise their children in groups, whole family units with or without genetic connection, sometimes they don't do it, they just leave them for others to care for, or let them die.
For cybertronians, it is similar, depending firmly on the coding, the area, or the city, the idea of leaving a new spark recently emerged to the government to care for was normal, let the new spark find mechs of their same frame to teach them accordingly, some take them under their care as iron apprentices, no caring about frames, just guiding them in the large and almost eternal life they were promised to get.
But that was Cybertron before the war, before the hot spots dried up and no new spark was to be seen for thousands upon thousands of years, the Cybertron after the senate, after the functionalism.
You know how it was before all that? Well, in reality, it wasn't so different from the other life forms of the galaxy.
You could see mentors helping their new sparks with their changing frames while they grew, see whole clans racing on the surface, searching in their own territories for new resources with their youngest inside their cabins and the oldest already racing with them, see whole groups of flyers, pushing with necessity at their younger members to finally open their wings and start their engines to fly for the first time, you can see groups with their forged young, teaching them, nourishing them, all similar yet so different depending for each group.
Sportsters teach their young to race and fight, and use their frame to their own advantage.
Speedsters race with their young, teaching them the thrill of speed.
Heavy-duty grounders and flyers introduce their young during their first transformation and the new weight of their frames.
Space shuttles guide the still-learning new sparks to outer space where they can truly fly without the planet pushing them down.
Bonds were close, tightly knitted.
So now, most hot spots are returning to function, and cybertronians have to make a decision, one that came almost naturally yet burned by their history.
How can you request a soldier to care for a new life? How can you give them something so precious, a real miracle?
Rodimus doesn't think too much about it, or he tries to appear as such, especially when many servos push at the mesh of his faceplate impatiently, forcing him back from recharge when a digit almost connects right on his optic, “Alright, alright!”, both intruders are still so little that he can handle them with his two servos each, “how did you two reach up here?”, he is sure he had put them both in their own habsuits last cycle, yet, here they are, Sunset seems mad to be stopped before trying to gauge his optic out, Firecracker smiles with pure glee at having his attention on her, “daddy!” she thrills in absolute glee with the few words she can already say.
Warmth blooms in his spark, dragging both his new sparks to his faceplate, making Firecracker reach another level of high pitch while Sunset finally relents and holds him with affection too.
Two out of three, he is relaxed enough to notice they haven't dragged his youngest around like last time, looking over the little pod crib right at the side of the berth, looking at his youngest still recharging, Coupe is more like him, doesn't move an inch while recharging, still has to cry, all she is silently activate and reaching for him with both tiny servos.
How does a speedster of the new era raise his young? Simple, he puts them up in his cabin as he races through the corridors, Megatron has to step back right before Rodimus almost crashes into him, again, the older mech is more attentive to the fragility of the sparklings than the sire, yet he knows that Rodimus is peculiarly careful even while driving at such speed, no matter that he appears not to or when he shouts out a: “Sorry, Megs! Family day! See you tomorrow!” while he is supposed to see with him and Mininus about their new route, he can't even say anything as soon after he dodges Drift that is coming too, Megatron can only sigh, saying something about Speedsters with a smile.
How does a group of Speedsters handle sparklings of their same frame? They teach them not to fear the pull of gravity or the force of acceleration, Rodimus opens his door to Drift, both in alt-mode, showing his friend his already bouncing little femme, excited as she keeps giggling once Drift opens his door too to let her in after a quick jump, securing her with his belts, Sunset seems more doubtful, no matter how many times they have done this since he could walk, still following his little sister and almost tearing Drift’s seat to ribbons with his digits, “you will get it some day” the mech comforts him once he can get his belts on him.
Rodimus moves his youngest, still holding onto his seat, not alarmed by the momentum that almost pushes her but clearly bothered, her digits slightly tearing at the covers, “It's ok”, he murmurs around her, “Daddy has you Coupe”.
Do other Speedsters join them? Not yet, Drift came in naturally, Rodimus trusts him with his life and his children, proven right every time once both transform and Drift returns his kids without a single scratch.
Early plays are a must, at least for Rodimus, took him time to figure out a routine to teach them without it being scary, and thus why Sunset keeps being fidgety, but Firecracker and Coupe are far from fearing speed.
He remembers his youth, racing after Copperwire, both waiting for Chandler and his heavy frame to reach them, those were the good days and he wanted to experience the same with his baby, but he does admit it was a bad idea to race with Sunset still so little inside his cabin on an alien planet, yet it wasn't his fault that the fauna was so aggressive, but his crying bitlet and your angry expression were enough for him to still wait for Sunset to be bigger, choosing to race inside the Lost Light, as it was the safest place he could think of.
Sunset is making it better each day, but he still runs with wobbly legs right to his servos, holding him tight until his sister comes too and tries to use him to climb their father.
Drift smiles at him, maybe proud of how far he has come.
Your duty time is finished, the storage rooms are full of things to trade and sell in the colonies, and more than sure you need a bath, but there is hardly any time before you hear that high-pitched thrill that you have come to understand means “carrier” in a very gibberish-sounding cybertronian, seeing your sweet baby boy and your energetic baby girl over their dad’s pauldron, your husband smiling the same way both kids do, “ready for lunch?”, he asks you, already giving you his servos to climb up, letting you enter his neck guard as both kids insist on a new energon flavor for the day as you sink in his neck to hold your youngest, your sleepy baby that pushes her helm to your neck due to all the noise and being right next to her dad’s voice box, feeling how he walks to the communal rooms.
“I want rainbow jelly!”
“We had that yesterday”
“But we could have it again!”
Rodimus rumbles lowly, already imagining a deeply charged Firecracker terrorizing whoever comes her way, “yeah, not gonna happen, today you have sweet chips as dessert”, her little femme goes “aww, but daddy-” while Sunset is already feeling the candy in his glossa.
How do cybertronians handle growing ones? Rodimus has a few problems cleaning Sunset’s drying, old armor, it is sensitive for the almost adult mech, so he says nothing when his son gets away from him to go right next to you, your tiny fingers doing wonders for him as his little sisters play with the fallen pieces of his old armor, “it's brown” Coupe says, smelling it, “Alright, let go of that, it isn't a toy”, Firecracker seems to think different as she is already try in to put one over the other, Sunset doesn't give a fuck, really, as he rests his mass displaced helm on your lap, letting you work with patience.
New sparks have their own ways of thinking, he can no longer direct them at his will, which shows when Sunset just goes: “I want a new paint job” which has Rodimus’ spark go heavy.
“What?”, he starts, “Your color is great! Brownish red is amazing!”, Sunset is still the one to look more like him physically speaking, like before he became Prime, and that was grounding as it was a way to connect with him, he can feel you watch him, he knows both his little femmes look at him, worried, much more so when Sunset just goes: “it doesn't feel right”.
Does it sting a little to watch his oldest now painted in black and silver? Yes, it does, he is his first sparkling, his baby, but it does give him some happiness to see him so confident in it and to have Coupe taking his servo, silently asking for his help with her first shedding, smiling when Firecracker goes: “it's red!”.
Cause he...
He's my man...

Another Perspective
Summary: A few instances where you (the reader) get an outside perspective on what the bot's are thinking as you traverse through the story. A little angsty.

There’s a crib. A crib that’s been toppled over.
It just didn’t make sense.
When he entered this room, the fire caught Chromedome’s attention as both a mystery and a pity. Judging by the other rooms that he had checked out prior, this side of the ship seemed to some sort of science sector. Or a rundown medbay. A couple of med slabs (autopsy tables?), a copious amount of tools hung up on the wall in each room, and there was one room that was strikingly different. A few tables and work desks akin to a common room, except there was a strange substance that was burgundy and flakey underneath one of the tables. Most striking is that it smelt like metal and ammonia.
Despite all the science, there was no sign of the artifact. Chromedome was beginning to believe that the tip off they got was a lousy scam and that they got tricked into doing another bot's dirty work by practically raiding the ship for them. However there was a small sliver of hope when he walked into a small room with a few desks, one side on fire, the closet hauntingly open and dark, and a dead body in the middle.
Something went wrong here, which means there was, or is, something here, which means there’s information. Chromedome walked into the blazing room first since if there was any information that you didn’t want anyone knowing about no matter what, burning it all wouldn’t be a half bad idea. Chromedome was upset but not surprised when he looked into the room with all the unsalvageable data being lost, however there was a part of him that appreciated the dramatics of it.
Then Chromedome turned to the closet.
It was open, and dark, and very slightly horrifying. It seemed as if the fire had gotten into the electrical wiring of this room, and some systems had suffered from the damage. Like the lights. The only thing that gave an ounce of vision into this closet was the crackling flames behind him and something giving off a slight reflection any time the fire spluttered.
Walking closer to the closet, Chromedome realized that horrifying was the correct descriptor.
There was a crib. A sparkling’s crib. There was supposed to be an artifact or information here. But instead there's a crib that's been toppled over.
Why would there be a sparkling on a decepticon ship? There’s a dead body in the same place where a sparkling had to have been. And the crib had been knocked over. Was there a fight over the sparkling? Why would the sparkling be so important compared to the artifact that someone would die over it? Is something being covered up or was there a disagreement? When was the last time a sparkling had been seen? Surely before the war, when there was time and a community to raise sparkling’s. So why are they here? And what happened to them?
It didn’t make sense. Chromedome sped over to the hallway to call out to anyone in the area. “Was there anyone else that covered this section before I did? Did you find anything? Anyone?”
Drift was nearby. But last he saw he was going down an opposite hallway. Maybe Rodimus? However he was supposed to be on the-
“You’re first in that area. However there was a mech desperately trying to get to here. Why? Is there cause for concern?” Drift approaches from the same hallway that Chromedome took to get to the room, and he quickly ticked his helm towards said room as an invitation in. Once Drift got close, Chromedome saw the slight disbelief on his faceplates.
Ah. He didn’t really rein in his field at all. Whatever, Drift can feel his alarm. There’s good reason to be alarmed.
The two of them walk into the room, and Chromedome beelines for the crib room again. He didn’t really check it that well the first time, he probably missed something. Momentarily he notes that Drift crouched to the ground to inspect the body. Another thing he didn’t really check. “Are you sure? Because there’s a crib in this room and I think I would’ve noticed a sparkling crawling around.”
Chromedome turns the crib over once or twice. It’s an odd material and shoddily made. It’s also surprisingly tall and without any cushions. It looked as if someone made it in a hurry without knowing what to really build. Or maybe they just didn’t care.
Chromedome turns his helm at the sound of Drift mumbling something about instructions. “Instructions? Drift, have you found something?”
While walking over, Chromedome notes that Drift isn’t looking at the datapad in his servos, but rather straight ahead in his crouched position at something underneath the desk. Once by Drift’s side, Chromedome looks down at the datapad, which hasn’t even been turned on. And then he follows Drift’s optic’s up.
“Oh!”

The sparkling rocked back and forth a lot.
Rewind was reviewing some of his footage from the past few cycles. Despite their age, the sparkling was quite good at articulating themselves. And it seemed they had a bit of a sassy streak as well. Rewind certainly didn’t mind it. The image of a sparkling rolling their optics and dragging their little servos down their faceplate in exhaustion was quite charming.
A part of Rewind wonders if the sparkling learned that from one of them or someone they once knew.
Maybe they got it from Magnus. Rewind imagined the sparkling watching Magnus’ behaviours and writing them down while seriously nodding and the image made him laugh. They probably learned to roll their optics from Rodimus.
As Rewind saved the adorable image of a sassy sparkling not only to a data slug, but to his own personal archive, he realized something as he continued to watch the videos.
The sparkling rocked back and forth a lot.
Like a lot. A lot.
It’s for different things as well.
Whenever someone entered the room, or left the room, or if someone picked something up. Movement generally seemed to cause the need for a calming repetitive action. The sparkling practically rocks non-stop whenever they’re in the med bay. He gets it. Doing the same thing over and over again can feel soothing sometimes. But despite how well the sparkling could articulate, this was one of the only open signs of distress that he could find across all of his footage. Other than the fact that the sparkling doesn’t cry. And majority of the time any cry is them simply whining for something. There’s not a true cry or tantrum that he can remember. It’s almost as if they’re stuck in a state of frozen watchfulness.
Rewind wonders if the sparkling learned that from one of them or someone they once knew as well.

Aquaheap sneered at Havoc. “You have to be joking. You brought back a damaged one?”
Havoc looked down to the limp little body in his servo’s. He felt bad. He felt really bad about plucking these poor organics to meet a cruel end. They were organic, yes, but that doesn’t mean that they deserved Aquaheap’s cruelty or the captain’s curiosity. But despite how bad he felt, an order was an order, and this would be the last one since they’re finally leaving this poor planet.
Too many signs of autobot activity apparently. And they had been getting too disruptive in the organic communities. The captain grew weary that a band of autobots would come sniffing their way and destroy all of their progress, so he decided to leave momentarily and come back once everything died down.
Havoc doesn’t understand why they had to return to this planet though. Is it because this is where they found Solus’ artifact? At the end of the cycle, it didn’t matter what Havoc thought, an order was an order. The only consolation that Havoc could offer these little ones was to grab an organic that was already on death’s door instead of a happy healthy one. It's not as bad if they were already going to die. This way he's not really taking a life, but simply speeding up the inevitable. He knows the one currently curled in his servos was particularly ill not only because of the heightened temperature and increased perspiration on their skin, but he knew something was wrong when he came into the little thing’s field of vision, and it looked excited. Maybe even hopeful. For some reason the little organic looked up at what must be comparable to a monster and yet Havoc was met with awe instead.
None of the other ones had done that.
It made Havoc feel worse.
Havoc lightly vented and drew his servo over the back of the unconscious figure resting in his palm. “Sorry Aquaheap, captain’s orders. I couldn’t get too close to the settlements. There’s too many whispers about autobots being in the area.”
Aquaheap groaned and roughly grabbed the organic out of Havoc’s servo’s before gagging. “Disgusting little thing, but I guess you’ll have to do.”

Hi, I am currently stuck on how to continue the plot in the main story so I figured I'd write out some behind the scenes types of ideas I have that aren't fleshed out in the main story. I kinda liked the process so I may do this every now and again to help with the block.
||Elita One finds herself in another alternate universe altogether (tfp), probably gonna find out that all of her alts are dead for plot purposes in those realms…||
I’m learning animation rn
This took me approximately a week (months, but because I worked on it on and off), testing some animation techniques, etc. I hope to expand on animation in the future… dunno tho, we’ll see with all the financial instability of the world rn.
