hi! i'm sure you're getting 100 asks about this and don't expect an answer. I hope no one is being rude. but I am genuinely curious in my asking. Is there a reason why, despite being the character being Jon, the design is so clearly based off of Kon's designs??

Hmmmmmmmmmmm what can I say that won't fan the flames as well as not break NDA/cause trouble.... -sigh-

I legitimately can't say the real reason why this confusion started in the first place because it's pointing fingers and I don't want people dogpiling. But the intent was always to do Jon (everyone on the team was pitched that and knew going into it). Our show also sits in a space where we get to play a lot in comparison to other DC shows so when we get the chance to nod at a different DC property (ie. the people cosplaying Teen Titans in ep 2), we roll the dice with legal and see if they'll let us do it. So just because you see it in the show does not mean it's canonizing anything within the world lore itself, often times it's just us being fans of DC (or any media, shoutout to the person who spotted Momo and Okarun) and wanting to show our love for it. I want our Superboy to speak for himself when you guys get a chance to watch his specific episodes these next few weeks because we really did enjoy writing and drawing him. He was such a fun addition and we all wished we had more episodes with him but we only had 10 episodes.

Also.

As a Certified Conner Kent fan who survived the Great Conner Drought known as YJ S4, it was fucking fun to draw Superboy in the leather jacket and Gojo glasses. He's just so darn cute we couldn't help ourselves.

Double also. Just because you dont see Conner now does not forever rule out he will never appear. That is not me confirming anything. For real, I'm being fucking serious because we legit do not know if we'll get a season 4. Do not take my words out of context because my point is that if you want us to do Conner Kent, then the studio needs to be told they want more of our show so our team can keep expanding on the Super Family. TV show seasons are getting shorter and shorter which means we have to cut out a lot of potential fun ideas. We're not working with a 26 episode order like back in the day so sometimes a nod to other DC characters by referencing the most iconic thing about them is all we can do with a short season of 10 episodes. If you want to see more of the show so we could potentially bring Conner into the fold then support the show and watch it. Because the team genuinely wants to make more, and I The Conner Fan of the crew would love to see what MAWS Conner would be!

my dearest sunflower~

some progress screenshots I took of the coloring process (the sunflowers were very blarghgblargh in the bg until I sat down to lock in and blahblargh)

post-editing, I kept scrolling through different layer settings (gradient map grayscale -> darken) and saw this one and was like, wow so grungy... but vibrant color was the main point so I scrapped this version lolol.

nevertheless, fun!! I feel like I finally figured out how to use the RGB slider--- I changed it to CMYK, bc it adds luminosity (with the K). I had a lot of fun picking colors by sliding the scales in relative to the main color!

Color is all about how they look relative to each other...

here's uh... an attempt at an explanation. I have the main color dropped as beige, and within the slider I can choose colors from CMY (K can toggle shade, but let's not deal with that rn)

I chose magenta from M; as I slide the M arrow along the bar, the other colors change.

I want smth that vaguely looks like brown hair, so I went for orange from Y.

adding complimentary colors can give that sort of... contrast, so I plopped some green from C.

eyedrop tool is your friend, so referencing your own colors and using the sliders to find other colors... until your eyeballs look at it and say, Mhm, yes this is pleasing to my eyeballs.

anyways... fun things! ^v^9 sorry I'm no goodie at explaining, I'm still figuring this all out too lolol.
