The Scarecrow (2000) - 2/3 In the time of the Pilgrims, a scarecrow is brought to life by a lonely witch who grants his wish for a human appearance —made possible by keeping a magical feather in his cap— to help a sweet, noble girl with whom he has fallen in love and three other orphans from a selfish Count who will do anything to keep them from earning their freedom if it means he won’t get what he wants.

This is just one of those movies where you first see it as a kid, the animation is pretty cruddy at some points, the plot is iffy and it really really doesn’t make sense with the time period at some points (i.e modern dancing and music, pop culture references..) but you just can’t let it go and you still enjoy it so much… That’s what this movie is to me.  There are so many problems, but I just love it.

Listen, I’m part of the generation that uses humor to cope, I love all the memes about 2020 just as much as you guys do. I laugh at the “we got the real roaring 20′s”, “we wanted 2020 to be a movie but we got the wrong genre”, “we really thought 2020 would be our year” sardonic tweets.
