One of the most life-changing things I ever learned came from Mythbusters, where they tested and proved (with cognitive testing puzzles and reaction time tests) that lying down and resting with the intention to sleep STILL provided significant mental benefits over just staying awake, even if a person couldn’t fall asleep in the amount of time they had. 

It helps me to actually sleep to know that just lying down with my eyes closed is still doing me some good, and helps me to not freak out/beat myself up when I stay up later than intended. Any amount of rest is better than no rest!

So if you didn’t know that…now you do

I cannot relate to ppl who see someone who’s incredibly fixated on one thing that gives them joy, and treat that as pathetic.

Like, if some dude who lives alone, has a job he hates, and only finds joy in his dog, spends all his money on dog toys and food, pampers the shit out of that dog, treats that dog like his child, I don’t see that as sad. He has something that he really cares about despite having things about his life he doesn’t like, and you know that dog is going to have a good life.

If someone is going to a school they hate, they don’t like the people they hang out with, they feel like there’s no joy in life except that they get to play minecraft when they get home, far be it from me to call that pathetic or lazy of them.

If some teenage boy is getting bullied, his parents are getting divorced, he can’t find a reason to make it though the day except to watch anime, good for him. I’m glad he found something he can enjoy.

If some girl has self-esteem issues, feels like she’s not good at anything, has no friends, but gets excited whenever she saves up enough money to buy supplies for a cosplay or go to a con, that’s amazing and I support her

If someone can only find joy in one, tiny thing, why would you make them feel pathetic for relying on that one thing to get through the day just bc you don’t get it or think it’s silly?

Even if someone has a good life but gets joy out of something you think is silly, there is absolutely no reason for you to treat their interests as pathetic.

(Tagging this with stuff like ‘cringe‘ and ‘cringe culture’ cus the ppl who use those tags need to see this the most)

After playing P4 DAN the souyo content I was expecting was kinda... anticlimactic. Over the obviously out of context screenshots only two were screaming  “Yosuke you’re obviously fallen for your partner” (which were in the epilogue part and the middle of the main quest) and the Souji pairing up with Yosuke were... somehow less gay than I expected. Don’t get me wrong, they were still very not 100% platonic and the blow kiss was still off the charts but there wasn’t any obviously gay moments (as compared to P4, at the implied dialogue parts they went all out and the innuendoish stuff can be seen) 

To be honest, this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this. The normal-seeming moments can be changed into really shippy (and obviously romantic/gay/*insert shipping related comment here*) with the power of fangirls’ minds and out of context scenes alone. I’m pretty sure there ARE actual scenes (as I have experienced during my years with anime and manga) but not as many as they make it to be. Case in point? A friend of mine who has watched YOI has said to me that the majority of the series is skating and skating competitions while the yuri on ice tumblr tag is stuffed with victuuri moments and the skaters. 

Dunno, this may be just the consequence of letting fangirls post stuff to Tumblr. It’s normal and I’m used to this, so I’ll just roll with it.

Finnish sounds equally as funny to estonians. I fell asleep on my couch one night and woke up at 3 am to a finnish advert and i honestly thought i was having a stroke, because why are all the words fucked up? Oh nvm. Finnish.
