How to turn off Google's "Search Services History"
If you received an email titled "New privacy settings for Search service" last month (2026 June/July), it's a new setting (enabled by default) that does the following:
Google will now save your media to your Search Services History, applying robust privacy and security protections. Like your Search Services History, your saved media is also used to develop and improve Google services and technologies, including AI models and safety measures.
Steps to turn it off (thanks to this video):
1. Go to https://myactivity.google.com/search-services/settings
2. Untick "Save media", scroll down and click "Turn off":
3. Click "On" → "Turn off and delete activity" → scroll down → "Next" → "Delete":

This is me! I've been genuinely starving for over half a year now, because the shelter limits what & when I can eat. I do not have family support. I do not have a way out besides this, but need to make it work ASAP because my health cannot afford this abuse longer - I've already been hospitalized, and it's getting to a point I'm fearing repeat ER trips because I can barely get food down even when I have it due to being starved so long and having to eat things that make me sick.
I need to show bank statements showing I am making some income at least every other week, or they will not let me apply for a voucher which lets me leave the shelter and find an apartment.
The shelter is extremely limiting on what art supplies I can have & this means I am unable to learn or upkeep new skills- every extra week I'm stuck here is a waste of my life, I was trying to learn leatherwork, sewing, clothing alteration, tattooing, and lino cuts but am not allowed to have any of my tools for those.
I can't even have tea anymore unless I buy and drink it outside the shelter. I used to drink it daily to soothe my stomach. I can't have yogurt or do meal prep, I have no access to a fridge or kitchen. I am often too weak to leave the shelter and get food elsewhere. I collapse from weakness. I need to get an actual home ASAP.
Please please please help me. Even making $20/ week would possibly let me get a CityFHEPS voucher. I cannot apply to apartments without that. It will take months to get into an apartment even once I have a voucher, I will probably be here still in 2027, which is so devastating I can't think of it without crying. There's an 11pm curfew, and I have delayed sleep phase syndrome, so I only have a few hours I am able to leave the shelter, if I even have the physical energy to get out of bed- it's ruining my life in every way. Please help me get out of here as soon as is possible.

My older sister's health has declined drastically since the last week of December 2024, which is why I decided to take over this account as per her request. The entirety of her right arm was not only swollen, but blood kept seeping out of her knuckles, her palm, and her elbow. The Chicago PD made a “heat list” to predict people involved with violent crimes — and instead, it caused them.
Guy gets placed on a list that says he will be "party to gun violence." It doesn't predict whether he will be a shooter or a victim, just that he will be involved.
Police ramp up surveillance around him, follow him, park outside his home. His entire community gets spooked.
People are then convinced he's a snitch working for the police. He gets shot twice.

Credit card companies will TRY to saddle you with this kind of debt by the way - if ever a loved one dies and you are not co-signed on their credit card, do NOT agree to pay their debt unless you ask a lawyer first if you truly have to.
They will say “don’t you want them to go to the grave without debt”, they will try to guilt you, they will take advantage of your vulnerability.
Source: when my father died, he had some credit cards that my mom wasn’t on that she had no access to. The companies contacted her while she was sorting through the bills and getting a handle on how to run the house alone, badgering her with his credit card debt.
She wasn’t liable for any of it, but if she had ever agreed to pay before finding out that she didn’t need to, she would have been considered to have taken on his debt and would have HAD to pay it. It’s slimy, it’s predatory, and it’s entirely legal for them to do this.
Never accept the credit card company’s word about your obligation to pay anyone else’s debt, if you don’t have access to the card, ask a lawyer before agreeing to anything.

i have a file or folder on my pc that i want to share with other people. let's call it gayshit.mp3
unfortunately gayshit.mp3 is 750mb and im not paying for discord nitro so i need another way to send it
i put it into qbittorrent and it makes a torrent file. this is essentially a very small file that points to gayshit.mp3 so other computers can find it. kinda like a treasure map
i send this tiny file to my friend, who loads it into qbittorrent. their computer takes a moment to find mine over the vast expanse of cyberspace and then (as long as my pc is running and the file is still where it should be), it gets copied from my hard drive to theirs
this is the cool part: if somebody else loads that tiny file, they can download it from both of us. if i'm offline but my friend is on, the third person can still get it. this also means that if two people have separate halves of the file, they can download the other half from each other. as long as some combination of people have the pieces between them, they can all have the whole thing.
crucially this does not require a server!!! you can just upload the file to a few people and as long as they keep it, it's still accessible. as long as somebody, somewhere is still connected, it's available forever. the only way it goes away is if everybody disconnects from it.
