No fridge? No microwave? No problem! You can still eat cheap and healthy (ramen noodles aren’t on my radar) with this guide to the fridge-free life. Check out all the food you can make without a fridge.
Confused about Money? Don't know where to start? Learn the basics! Someone taught you how to walk, how to eat, and how to ride a bike, so why should you be expected to magically just know about finances?
I’m Meow, and I’m on a mission to teach people the basic adulting skills that they never learned in school.
Learn the money basics @ Moneywithmeow.com!
Two People are Given A Choice.
One is given $10,000 right away. The other is only given a dollar, but every day the dollar is not spent, it doubles. How long will it take for the second person's gift to surpass the first?
A. 15 Days B. 210 Days C. 1000 Days
To see if you're right, check out my article on compound interest. What does this have to do with anything? The same idea applies to debt and investments, and explains why every dollar counts today.

Step one to adulting your finances is getting together an emergency fund.
Your fridge dies and all the food in it spoils.
You wake up in a lot of pain one morning. Cue the medical bills and missed work.
Your job evaporates without warning, or cuts your hours to practically nothing.
A family member passes away unexpectedly and you have to travel across the country for their funeral - and miss work to do it.
Your car suddenly needs a new whoosit whutsitmajigger. You also need a rental so you don't lose your job.
Your live-in BF/GF dumps you or turns abusive and you need somewhere to go, pronto.
Imagine going through these things with $2.17 in your bank account. Now imagine going through these with $2170 in your bank account. Before you spend another dime on something that doesn’t directly keep you alive or employed, you need an emergency fund.

Is Ellevest a scam? Not really, but it may not be the best option out there. Though they present themselves as a safe space for women to invest, a closer look reveals that their fee structure is twice as expensive as their nearest gender-neutral counterparts with no real difference in services, potentially costing women tens of thousands of dollars each over their investing lives. I would support Ellevest if they slash their fees to, at most, what their peers are charging. Otherwise, this investment platform for women is just a pink razor tax.

Let’s throw out the notion that you’re not successful unless you own a house!! There’s a lot of pressure on millennials to buy houses, and the baby boomers have perpetuated this notion that renting is throwing money away. From a financial standpoint, this is not always true!! Today on Money with Meow: Buy or Rent? Sometimes, you shouldn’t buy a house even if you can scrape the money together for the down payment. Here’s how to find out if that applies to you. Should I buy a house or rent? via Money with Meow.

Today on the blog I’m talking about CDs - and not the kind you put in your music player. If you ever wished you could make a loan to the bank (instead of the bank making a loan to you) - here’s how.
