Re-re-introduction

Hello, hello: I've had Tumblr for roughly 4 years now, so here I am, once again, updating my interests.

Hi, I'm Monicoz! I'm a 2D artist, animator, and a professional procrastinator. I have a YouTube channel where I animate a bunch of my OC's, and I write stories around them! I live in a big field in the U. S. of A.

I hate how pervasive AI has become, which is why I've mostly distanced myself from Instagram and intend to post my art here! Prepare yourself for some scrumptious art (if I remember to draw it). You might have seen a sideblog of mine called @nobounds-official ; there is some art there for a story I am [attempting to] working on!

Oh hey here’s my new characters I’m adding for Art Fight this year 🤭 (go Team Tragedy!)

Pierre

French Infantryman in WWI. Has the misfortune dealing with the horrors of the Western Front and extraterrestrial phenomena in the skies. Likes cigarettes and sketching.

Heather

One of Carmen’s friends who protects her through thick and thin. Takes no bullshit. Likes strong coffee.

Dr. Ann

Carmen’s enemy who wants to make Carmen’s life a living hell but is very sweet about it. Doesn’t sleep a whole lot; essentially a mad scientist.

Agent J

Basically Ann’s bodyguard who does her dirty work. He’s a relentless tracker who won’t stop until Carmen is stopped and Ann is happy. Looks human but isn’t.

I’m very normal about Art Fight and have NOT been lurking in the shadows waiting to spring and attack. No, no, of course not.

1.5 weeks till it begins………..

TEAM TRAGEDY FOR ART FIGHT 2026 !!!

Super excited for this year’s Art Fight!! This will be my fifth year participating!! I think the three teams-thing will be an interesting change of scenery. I also took the liberty of updating nearly every character reference in some way haha. I’ve been thinking about this since March.

After 6 long years, the American trio finally have new (and historically-improved) uniforms!

Plus also their Art Fight references 🤭

Will I be animating them like this in the future? Probably not with as much detail (as animation goes), but the colors will definitely make an appearance 😁

additionally, i feel kind of bad not having animated anything lately. part of it is kind of my fault for setting a standard for myself of making a video with a plot. because then i don't do it (unless it's somehow a really good idea)

i used to make little clips around 20 seconds long all the time but i always felt like it wasn't enough, because the longer videos with the plots turned out better? idk man i'm overanalyzing things again

does this make sense or am i shouting into the wind

most of this stems from 1) i feel like tumblrites would actually enjoy my art despite me not having a huge following or anything, and 2) i don't trust instagram/meta with all its ai insanity

hey what's up chat!! i keep forgetting i have tumblr until i get invested in a new piece of media and jump to tumblr for fanart lol.

uhh new interests? i like Evanescence's Fallen album, Dispatch was cool, John Carpenter's The Fog (1980) is a good movie.

continuous interests? Turn: Washington's Spies is back for a resurgence because it's on Netflix again, and i'm gonna watch it all. I'm still stuck on RESIDENT EVIL, ESPECIALLY because RE9 is coming out in February. (istg if anything happens to Leon...) always obsessed with my OC's, too. I made a 12-page comic about some Frenchman in WWI recently.

i'm still on my alien bs however, and if you have any media where there's an alien guy posing as a human, PLEASE GIVE IT TO ME. books, tv shows, etc. Stuff like Resident Alien or Starman 1984 (some of my favs)
