It's a question that is asked so much in the last few days that it almost feels like he isn't. It takes all of his energy and self control not to snap. But it also means nothing, and he doesn't have anything to say back except the truth.
"No," is what comes out of his mouth. "I'm really fucking not."
And for just one brief moment, the silence between them is deafening. He doesn't know why he says it. Or if he even meant to say it at all. And then, without saying another word, they hold his burning hands. They don't care if their hands burn from the heat, all that matters right now was comforting Kai.
"Kai, look at me."
He raises his head as the first tear falls from his eye. His heart is beating wildly against his chest. This is it. There's no going back. "Yes?"
They don't speak, but instead brings their clasped hands to their lips and kisses each knuckle. One by one, they kiss each knuckle with a tenderness that makes him shiver. They take the time before speaking to kiss him again and again until the tears fall freely. When they're done with that, they place a gentle hand on his cheek.
"You can do this."
It sounds sincere. So genuine that even though he wants to be strong, he finds himself crying harder.
"But I'm scared."
There. That's exactly what he meant to say. What he didn't even want to say. But here it is. The truth.
"I can't lose you too."
Their eyes lock. A spark ignites within them. Their gazes stay locked until finally, they nod.
"You won't."
The next words leave Kai's mouth before he knows what he's doing. "But there might come a day where you won't come home."
His heart breaks when they let go of his hands to cup both sides of his face. For an instant, he thinks they will pull away. But no. Instead, they lean forward until their foreheads touch, whispering, "Then I'll make sure you never have to worry about that."
Kai closes his eyes as he feels warmth fill every inch of his body. If only things could always be like this. With no worries, and no fears. No doubts. No nightmares. Just them and Kai.
Just them together.

kai’s heart was absolutely taken aback. it has been ages since he’d ever let someone into his fractured heart. he has not been the best in the romance aspect of his story.
he was truly bewildered when y/n rudely entered his life. his way of loving was unique, wether it’s romantically or platonically. his love is .. strong.
all throughout his life, kai has always been asked quiet a lot in his romantic relationships. he’d always happily give whoever he loved anything they ask but after a little while, his unkept anger interfered.
however, this was different. this was unknown.
"kai," the fire ninja looked behind him at y/n. he held up a tiny pebble that was oddly shaped and coloured. "we picked it up last july. i found it in my pocket."
y/n looked so excited about such a little thing. kai’s heart fluttered. he has been fighting villains and only ever seeing violence that this sort of purity astonished him.
every day when he fights villains, they always say the end is coming. in kai’s eyes, no ones trusted, everyone’s up to something.
one day, on the way home, kai was rambling about how his missions and what he was up against throughout the years, y/n looked up at him with a lovable gaze. he always talks about these things in such a proud manner that amused y/n.
after kai told y/n about one of his successful attempts at saving the day, "what a mind." y/n said. kai looked back at him and smiled, this happens all the time.
even after being together for so long, kai still have voices that always implore, "you should be doing more." but he knows that the only one he can take his walls down and say how he’s actually just too soft for all of this,
and y/n never wanted anything in return. he loved kai with no conditions whatsoever.
industry disruptors, smooth-talking hucksters, out glad-handing. kai always found himself running home to y/n’s sweet nothings,
kai stared at y/n and his only thought was, 'all that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing'.
lloyd’s heart felt empty. he only laid down and stared at the ceiling for hours these days. shallowness was the only thing he ever felt lately. thinking he heard something, the blond got up and waddled towards the dock of 'the destiny’s bounty.'.
an icy cold breeze hit montgomery’s face and all his surprisingly fragile body shivered. he saw a figure leaning on the railing and choose to walk towards them. as he got closer, he realised it was y/n.
"isn’t it too cold to be wandering on the deck?"
the boy looked next him at the green ninja. he lowly chuckled and shrugged, "it’s calming in an uncomfortable way." y/n said. lloyd hummed and looked down at the infamous and comely 'ninjago city.'.
after minutes of comforting silence. y/n noticed lloyd’s shivering, "go inside. why are you standing here, you’re freezing." the blond looked at the other’s eyes and got lost in his endless thoughts. he hesitated but eventually spoke,
"i feel a little happier and far more alive when i know you’re next to me."
y/n’s felt the air forcefully taken from his lungs. that was the last thing he has ever expected. even in the swarthiness of the cold lonely night, you could visibly see the redness on lloyd’s face.
y/n smiled and looked down at the city again, "how i delight in serene melancholy until i’m with you, lloyd." those words pierced through lloyd’s heart with a beautiful blow. he leaned on y/n and the other responded with pulling the green ninja closer.
they never said it. they never admitted it but they knew. they knew the love was there and that one day they’ll be able to say the words they always wished they could loudly say in the lonely night,
. . . Laying in the tenderness of your embrace, they could do nothing but smile and reciprocate your love. You whispered sweet-nothings into their ear, and told them how nothing in the world could describe how much you loved your beloved partner. Oh yes, how much you adored them. They're beautiful eyes, their pretty features, how they try their best. You loved every inch of your favorite person, and you made sure they knew that. Their head layed on your chest as you played with their hair and rambled on about your day.

Lloyd x Gn Reader [Fluff]

“This place is fucking awesome!” Y/N said as they dragged their boyfriend.
Lloyd smiled softly at his partner as he looked around the small area. The place was full of different people enjoying themselves. There were other couples having fun together, and even some friends doing a game with each other. He felt Y/N pull on his hand making him look down at them as they tugged lightly on it. “C’mon we gotta play something fun!” they said enthusiastically, grinning up at him. Their smile never faded as their eyes sparkled with excitement as they looked back up at him.
He chuckled at them before letting out a small huff and smiling at them. He loved how energetic they could be. “Okay okay let’s just find something to do then,” he said as he nodded in agreement with them.
They quickly started pulling him towards another room as they looked around for anything that caught their eye. They stopped when they saw a sign on one of the walls. They turned to see Lloyd following behind them. “Let’s try this game! I wanna try this one!” they said excitedly as they pulled Lloyd along.
“You can’t just say things like that. We haven’t even finished looking around yet.” Lloyd said but nevertheless followed them into the room.
Y/N immediately ran over to the machine and pressed buttons quickly before starting to play the game. Lloyd watched with amusement as they pushed buttons, trying to beat each level quickly. As they got higher levels, they started to move faster, pushing harder and harder until eventually, they managed to finish the level. They cheered loudly as they moved the joystick. They didn’t notice that Lloyd was standing next to them until he spoke. “I want a turn!” he grinned as he moved forward and tried to start the game too.
The two kept pushing buttons until they both hit the right level and made it to the next one. The two continued to play as they kept going. By the time they reached the end of the game Y/N’s cheeks were already bright red and they were breathing heavily from the intense competition. Y/N sat on top of one of the machines while Lloyd leaned against another. They stayed silent for a while before Lloyd spoke. “Hey, are you hungry?" he asked curiously. It had been a long day of running around the arcade and fighting off zombies, and he was starving.
Y/N thought for a second before nodding slightly. “Yeah, I am,” they said as they sat down on the floor and rested against one of the machines.
“Then let’s get something to eat,” Lloyd said as he stood up and stretched. He walked over to the counter and ordered food for the two of them. When he came back to where Y/N was sitting, he handed them the food. Y/N took it gratefully and began to eat.
After they ate, they both headed back home. Once they reached the house, Lloyd went inside and began to clean up. Y/N followed him into the living room and sat on the couch. After a little bit, Lloyd decided to sit down with them.
"So what do you wanna watch?” he asked as he glanced over at the TV.
Y/N shrugged lightly. “Whatever you wanna watch,” they said as they grabbed a controller and set it on their lap.
“How about we watch Pokémon,” Lloyd suggested as he picked up a remote. He clicked the button and the television turned on, showing a cartoon Pokémon battling a human figure on the screen.
“Alright,” Y/N nodded as they grabbed the remote and settled down comfortably against the couch. Lloyd laid himself down next to Y/N and placed his head on their chest.
“Are you comfortable?” he asked as he looked up at them.
“Yeah,” Y/N answered with a nod. They gently ran a hand through Lloyd’s hair and started to hum quietly to him.
It wasn’t long before Lloyd fell asleep and Y/N continued to run their fingers through his hair. Y/N’s humming changed to a song as they played with Lloyd’s soft locks. They slowly closed their eyes and drifted off to sleep as well.

“You’re WHO’s child?!”
You sat on the couch reading a book, you were trying to figure out how best to break the news to the demon that your mother is LBD. You sighed in frustration before flipping through another book that wasn't interesting enough for you to focus on. LBD was a spiritual demon that some people knew of. If anyone found out you were LBD's child, everyone would fear you. Which you don't want that to happen, ever since you ran away and decided to live with Mk and his friends your life has been perfect. You really didn't like being related to someone like her, you didn't even see her as your mother anymore.
A couple of weeks after you ran away from her you met Redson, he wasn't so sure of you at first since you gave off a strange aura but he's grown to like you a bit. He even let you hang around with him which was rare since he hated having people close to him. You sighed as you closed your book, you had an idea of what you wanted to say to Redson but you were scared. You were scared that he might kill you or tell his parents, you might lose all your friends that you've made. "Reader?" You snapped up your head to find Redson standing near the door looking concerned. "Yes, Redson? Do I need to go upstairs to bed?"
You asked trying to sound nonchalant Redson shook his head "No, no you can stay here if you want." He said walking over to sit next to you, you looked at each other awkwardly. He took notice that you were acting weird "Is something wrong Reader?" He asked, his voice sounding worried You hesitated "What do you mean?" You questioned hoping you sounded normal He frowned "Are you feeling alright? Is there anything that I should know?" His eyes searching yours for answers You shifted a bit under his gaze "No, no it's nothing like that." You said finally He nodded "Then what is it?" He inquired again You stared into his red eyes you couldn't bring yourself to spill your secret "I'm... I'm..." You tried desperately to think of the right words "LBD's..." You managed to stammer out "I'm her child..." His eyes widened in shock and confusion as he slowly processed what you just told him. "Wait... What?!" He asked The room suddenly fell silent, both of you staring at one another unsure what to do. Eventually, Redson spoke up He stood up as his hands started to catch on fire, and your eyes widened. "Why didn't you tell me sooner." You flinched "I was going to! It's just that I was scared!"
You yelled defending yourself Redson scoffed "Oh please, I have literally been hanging out with you and I've seen you act so...human." You stared at the ground refusing to make eye contact "Well... It doesn't matter now, does it?" You replied quietly Redson stared at you for a moment as he sighed, the flames from his hands disappeared as he started to walk closer to you "Listen." He paused "I'm sorry okay? You're my friend and for you to suddenly say that out of nowhere shocked me." He reached forward cupping your cheek "I won't tell anyone about this unless you want me to," Redson said softly Your eyes widened in surprise as you stared at him, he didn't even hesitate, he was just willing to keep this secret for you. That made you feel a sense of relief knowing that he would never betray you like that. "Thank you Redson." You muttered He smiled "I'm still mad at you for not telling me sooner though." He added.
You chuckled "I'll get you back someday." You joked Redson rolled his eyes as he pulled you into a hug "Y/N, you're a good kid." He mumbled in your hair. You smiled into his chest "Yeah, yeah, whatever." You replied Redson then pulled away, "You aren't like her..right? You won't try to harm or control others as she did?" He asked raising an eyebrow You shrugged "She's hurt a lot of people, but I promise I don't have those traits." You stated. Redson sighed "I believe you." He said placing a hand on your shoulder "Now let's get you to bed, I don't want my parents complaining about why we're still up" He mumbled making you giggle. Redson walked you up to one of the guest's rooms, you turned around giving him a small smile before opening your door "Good night Redson." You said closing the door. He smiled back

At first, he would be shocked, then annoyed at how one of the 'new' ninjas would flirt with you.
He would always say it was stupid, that they didn't even know you personally, but Jay would roll his eyes and huff in annoyance. You were his partner and he knew you well enough to know he could be jealous. He just didn't like seeing you get flirted up by someone who barely knew you. "I don't want you talking to them [your nickname]!" Jay pouted as you turned down another person's advances for dinner that night. You looked at him and smirked, making him squirm under your gaze.
"What? Do you have a problem with me speaking to other people?" You teased, knowing full well he had a thing about strangers flirting with you. He was so protective, and you loved that about him. "No! It's not that." Jay shook his head, taking your hand in his own. "It's just...you're my partner and I don't want you being near them," he explained. His frown deepened when you laughed at his statement, squeezing his hands gently before pulling out of his grasp. "You worry too much about it. I don't like them anyway" you assured him, smiling softly when he still frowned. "Really?" He asked, watching your smile widen. You nodded as he smiled back. "Well okay then. Just let me know if they hurt you, or anything, ok? Promise?" He insisted and you laughed again, nodding quickly. "I promise."
COLE !
Now Cole would never let you go near the 'new' ninja. No matter how hard they tried to flirt with you.
He would probably tell them to fuck off and to stop flirting with you. And he had done it before. He always told them this, but this time they weren't listening. It was pretty obvious to everyone else that they liked you and were being extra nice to you. You were the only one who noticed his reaction to the 'new' ninja. When you saw him glaring at them every now and then when they interfered in what you guys were doing. You knew something was up, so you decided to talk to Cole and see if he could help you figure out what was wrong. You sat downside him, while he plays his game.
"Cole?" "What," He said bluntly.
Not even glancing away from his game. "Is everything okay? You seem upset." You asked. He sighed, before putting his controller down on the table. "I'm fine." He said, turning to face you. You raised an eyebrow at him. "No, you're not." You said. He groaned. "Don't laugh at me, okay?" He muttered, looking anywhere but at you. You smiled reassuringly at him. "Never, Cole." You said. He looked back up at you. "The 'new' ninja is getting a little bit close and flirting with you, and...I don't like it."
He whispered. Your eyes widened as you stared at him. Then you smiled, reaching over and ruffling his hair. "Cole, you are such a sweetheart." You cooed. His cheeks turned red as he ducked his head to hide his embarrassed blush. When he finally looked up at you again, you were still smiling at him. "Thanks for telling me." You said. He nodded. "But," you continued, taking both of his hands in yours. "If you ever need to talk about this, I am here. Okay?" You said softly. Cole nodded. "Okay." You grinned at each other and leaned forward to peck his cheek.
ZANE !
Zane would be confused cuz' he's never felt this kind of feeling before. Seeing the new ninja flirt and talk to you way differently than they talked to them made him confused. He felt, mad for some reason, he didn't want you talking to them. So he asked PIXAL about his emotions. "It seems that you're jealous of the 'new' ninja flirting and interacting with [reader]" She told him. "I am?" He couldn't deny that he thought that you were very attractive, but not as much as you were with him. He wanted all your attention to be on him, he didn't like seeing you around the new ninja when he was around, he didn't know why he was so upset about it but he was. "Yes, I don't know what it means but it seems that you care about your feelings more than logic dictates." Zane sighed, "I suppose I do. Can I ask why? Why does my heart feel this way towards them?" "I've been trying to find an answer. There are some things in our coding that affect our emotions. I believe one is when we see others interacting romantically. It's like watching a movie that's playing in your head. We can watch someone else and watch from the outside without ever being able to experience it in person. It may explain why you're so angry at these new ninja, even though they're not dating [reader]"
Zane nodded, "I understand." The next day Zane noticed something different. Whenever you interacted with another ninja they'd always try to get closer to you or touch you. Zane knew this wasn't right because you weren't interested in them, but every time he looked at them he just got upset. You walked around the monastery trying to find Zane. Kai had told you he was outside, training but he wasn't there. So you decided to check his room. You found him sitting at his desk staring out the window. "Hey Zane" He turned to face you, a small smile on his face. You smiled back as he stood up, walking over to you. You were standing only a few inches apart. "Hello Y/N, how may I help you?" His voice was soft and smooth as he spoke to you. "I wanted to check up on you. You've kinda been ignoring me for a few days so" You mumbled, and the room fell silent. Zane looked away from you for a moment and then back at you. "Oh, I'm sorry, please forgive me if my behavior has been quite rude. It's just..." He trailed off as his hand moved to yours and he began to intertwine your fingers together. "I've seen how the 'new' ninjas would flirt and touch you and I've been...jealous? Since." You frowned, "Is that why you've been avoiding me?" You said softly. Zane squeezed your hand lightly as he nodded. You giggled at his cute little expression, you cupped his cheek in your free hand and leaned in to give him a quick kiss on the lips. When you pulled away you saw he was smiling happily. "I love you and you only, no one else can change that" You whispered. Zane blushed bright red at your words, "Y/N..you don't mean that..." You laughed and shook your head. "Oh, I do! Now let's go get something to eat!"
KAI !
Kai is such a hothead that he can’t help himself from jumping into conclusions like this. He doesn’t know where it came from. It just kinda happened. When he sees the new ninjaflirting with you, he feels something in his heart twist, like an elastic band stretching dangerously tight. It’s so obvious. And yet, no one has said anything about it. They haven’t done anything either, not that he knows of. Except for maybe Cole and Zane who have been giving him weird looks lately, but even they haven’t said anything. Maybe he was just overreacting but there are other people besides him that are flirting with you. Why not say something? That way it wouldn’t feel as awkward when he eventually gets jealous too, which could happen at any moment. “Hey, Cole! I need your opinion on something.” Kai says gaining Col's attention. His friend looks at him curiously, but nods.
“I think I should go talk to reader about something.” Cole blinks and cocks his head to the side slightly. “Is this about the new ninjas?" Cole asked. The red ninja nods vigorously. Cole rolls his eyes, "Tell them about it, tell them that the new ninjas make you jealous" he tells Kai. “But… I don’t want to make things weird” Kai says, cole frowns, clearly not buying that answer. "You're already making everything weird." Kai sighs defeated, "Yeah okay, fine. I'll tell them." When he told you that he got jealous of the new ninjas you were confused."What do you mean you're jealous of them? Are you jealous they might take me away from you~" You teased. Kai groans "You know what? Forget it, forget it, forget it. Just forget that I ever mentioned that. Forget I ever brought it up!" He says looking everywhere else but you. You chuckle before leaning over and kissing him on the cheek. Kai's cheeks turn bright red and his eyes widened in surprise. He turns his head towards you, looking straight into your eyes, and leans closer. He closes the distance between you two by placing his lips softly against yours. Your breath catches and you immediately kiss back. When you pull apart, you see Kai's face light up with a smirk.
His cheeks are dusted pink and his eyes glisten with happiness and affection. You smile back at him, feeling butterflies swirl around inside your stomach. You wrapped your arms around him and rested your head on his chest. Kai wraps his arms around you and smiles down at you. His expression softens and he gently kisses you on the forehead. "I'll never replace you" You mumbled. "Is it because I'm hot?" He asked smugly. You laughed "Well, yeah. But, more than that. I love you." You kissed his cheek again. "I love you too." He whispered.

It's going to be okay...
You missed nya. You missed her jokes, how she would scold you for staying up late, you missed her. You and Nya were very close and ever since she became one with the sea you haven't been the same. You would always have a booming voice when you walked into a room or a smile, but you didn't smile anymore and everyone knew why. It's because one of your best friends has become one with the sea and there was nothing you could do to bring her back. No matter how hard you tried Nya was gone. She wasn't just missing she disappeared. Gone! You felt so alone, but there was only one person that would comfort you on your darkest days. And it was Kai. Kai, the boy you loved. You loved Kai more than anything in this world. He gave you everything.
You cried as you sat on you and Kai's shared bed, you had another dream about Nya.
This time you had gotten so lost in your head, that you didn't realize that someone else was sitting down next to you, you felt his hand gently rubbing circles into your back and you melted into his touch. Your breathing evened out and your tears stopped and Kai wrapped an arm around you pulling you closer. "I miss her too," he whispered into your ear, you pulled away from Kai so you could look at him and wipe away any leftover tears that had been falling. "She was my best friend," you sniffled looking at your hands and Kai reached up taking them in his own. "I know," Kai said giving your hands a squeeze, "It's going to be okay," Kai muttered.
You leaned forward placing a gentle kiss on Kai's lips, you heard Kai let out a low groan which made you smile against his lips. Kai pulled away and rested his forehead against yours. "Can we cuddle?" You asked, sniffing a bit. "Of course," Kai smiled kissing your nose, Kai got out of bed and opened his closet pulling out a big comforter. Kai draped the comforter over you and climbed into bed wrapping his arms around you, you snuggled into his chest letting out a small sigh. "Thanks for being here for me," you mumbled into his chest. "Always babe." Kai kissed your hair before resting his chin on top of your head. The two of you spent hours like this talking until you fell asleep in Kai's arms.

Redson found you annoying at first, when MK introduced you to Redson you wouldn't stop asking him questions. Your curiosity never failed to irk the older man, but he was also a demon, which made things even worse. He wanted nothing more than to tell you to leave, but he couldn't. You would always find some way to get under his skin, and it took every bit of his self control to restrain himself from doing something incredibly stupid, like ripping out your throat. But soon enough he's grown to actually like you but he won't admit it! He'll pretend that you aren't there all the time, and act as if he can't hear your obnoxious voice or see your annoyingly bright smile.
And yet, no matter how hard he tries, you never fail to make him smile.
He would sometimes let you watch him build his vehicles, and sometimes he'd show you some of his secret tricks or show you his favorite places in this world. He'd also bring you with him whenever he went on patrol, and occasionally you'd tag along with him during his meetings with the other demons. He would secretly be grateful for having such an annoying little human around, because then he'd have someone he could talk to, and laugh with, without being worried you might get in his way. He didn't need a friend, but somehow he found one anyway. You're not sure if Redson really likes you, but you think that maybe he does! Because why else would he show you so much attention?
Macaque was actually a little suprised that a little kid would be this happy to see a demon such as himself.
MK didn't introduced him to you, let's just say he popped out of nowhere and he noticed you.
You wouldn't stop touching his ears and tail, which he got a little annoyed with. You were also the first person who saw a demon and he wasn't sure if he wanted you to stay or not. He did find you entertaining, at first MK was a little worried that Macaque would hurt you in anyway but when he saw you and Macaque bonding one day, he couldn't help but relax a little.
Macaque isn't the type to give affection and it took some time for him to warm up to you, but after a while, he was slowly getting used to you and started to like your presence. He now let's you play with his hair, ear, or tail. He's even let you touch him more than he usually lets anyone else. It's kinda weird because he doesn't really like people touching him, especially strangers but you're different. You are a good friend and it's hard to keep yourself away from you. Macaque has always known you as someone who had the biggest heart of anyone he knew and whenever you talk to him about demons, it makes you smile. He doesn't get why but hearing you tell him how much you love them makes him smile.
He doesn't have many friends besides you so he never really thought of anyone to call his "friend". But you're special, you're his best friend since forever! No one can replace you! And that's why he knows that you will understand him better than anyone else. That's also why he knows that you would do anything to make him happy.

Jin x clingy gn reader [fluff]
Jin would be somewhat confused half of the time. He doesn't understand how you would be so clingy to him, especially since he's a demon. He didn't mean it like that at first but you kept going on about how he was the coolest being in existence to you. So, he started to get used to it, and now you two are practically joined at the hip! And even though he can tell you're a clingy person, he doesn't know if he really enjoys it? It's kind of weird... Yin would tease Jin about it sometimes, "You were totally blushin." and then laugh when Jin would glare at him. But Jin knew she was right. He could feel your arms around his waist, your head resting on his back as you listened to him talking about anything. And whenever you hugged him, you'd hug him very tightly which would make Jin's heart race. That's not normal. You don't seem to notice, just continue to talk happily while clinging to Jin like you're an oversized teddy bear. And sometimes, you would say something stupid. Like,
"Your eyes are so pretty!" Or, most embarrassing times, "I'm so happy we're together!" and give Jin one of those cheesy little kisses. Which, okay, Jin definitely loves. Even if you don't realize, Jin does. It made him a bit dizzy with all the mushiness. But Jin doesn't want to admit it because it makes him so giddy. It's annoying how much Jin craves skinship but also wants nothing more than for you to stay like this forever. So Jin keeps trying to figure out how to tell you that he loves you. How do you confess your feelings to someone? Does Jin say them when you're hugging? What does he do when he's in bed with you? Is he supposed to kiss you goodnight? Hold hands? Hug each other? Jin never understood humans. Yin on the other hand cares for you, no matter what. And when you two are together, he always has a smug look on his face and a mischievous glint in his eye. Then he would tease about you and Jin's relationship.
"You two are so cute together. I think you should just lock lips already!" Jin would glare at Yin and try not to think too hard about it. When you ask Yin what he thinks about relationships, he'd shrug nonchalantly. "They're not for me, and besides they're gross!" He said sticking his tongue out, making you laugh.
But Jin loves your clinginess, it makes him feel safe, like no matter where or who he goes, you'll always be there to protect him. That's the best part!

"Well then, why don'cha sit next t'me?" You offered, Tang hesitated for a moment before sitting across from you. "What do you like to read about?" You asked him, flipping open the novel. "Anything really. Romance books, nonfiction books, anything" Tang replied enthusiastically. "What do you have against nonfiction books?" you asked him curiously. He paused for a second. "Well, they make me sound shallow. I read plenty of fiction novels, but I'm not sure I can put my thoughts into words yet..." "Oh!" you said again, this time in realization. "Huh?" You stared up at your ceiling, deep in thought. You couldn't sleep, not that you expected to; the only reason you were still awake was because of all your thoughts. They came back to haunt you, and you found yourself unable to fall asleep until they were completely cleared from your mind. The way they played on repeat in your head, like a broken record, made it impossible for you to even attempt rest. You sighed as you threw off your sheets, turning around to face your window. The sky was pitch black, with only a few stars visible in the dark expanse. A few crickets chirped outside, providing some light, but it wasn't enough to illuminate much of your room. It would take more than anything else to help you fall asleep. You glanced at your clock, which sat on your nightstand, telling you that you had been tossing and turning for at least thirty minutes. Still no sign of sleep. You groaned as you laid back in bed, lately you've been overthinking about everything, even small things.
Like if Nezha really did love you. He does, right? Or was that just your imagination? No one's ever told you outright, but Nezha always says he loves you, and it never fails to make you blush when he does. But then again, that doesn't mean he truly meant it that way. What if he was just saying what he wanted to say? Your anxiety started to kick in again, thinking about the worst possible scenarios. You began to tear up a bit, knowing deep down that it wouldn't do any good. It wasn't going to change anything. "What am I doing?" you asked yourself, wiping away tears before they could fall. Tears weren't going to stop this, or make things go back to normal. They never did. You then hear the bedroom door open, followed by footsteps making their way towards your bed. You immediately knew who it was by the way the door creaked, the sound was almost silent, but you'd heard it more times than you could count.
"Are you okay, my dear?" Nezha asked softly, his voice sounded exhausted, yet concern laced throughout it. "I can hear your heart beating faster than usual." Your eyes widened, but you didn't respond. How could he tell what was going on with you without you saying a word? It was infuriating, frustrating, and embarrassing. He should just leave you alone. "Please talk to me," Nezha said as he sat on the edge of your bed. "What is troubling you?" He reaches out, placing his hand on your shoulder, and rubbing circles into your skin. Despite the action being gentle, it caused your heart rate to quicken, though you weren't sure why. He seemed so worried about you... "Nezha..." you finally spoke up after a while of silence. "Why do you love me?" The question left your mouth so quickly that you barely registered what you'd said. You looked to Nezha with wide eyes, expecting him to either laugh or say something along those lines. His reaction was much different though. In fact, it was completely opposite of what you were expecting. Nezha let out a long sigh before taking your hands in his own, squeezing tightly. "Because you are a wonderful person, who deserves the world. Because despite your shortcomings, your compassion and generosity are undeniable. Most importantly, you have made my life a lot brighter." He gazed deeply into your eyes, his own filled with a mixture of emotions. You were stunned at first, unsure how to react.
This whole situation was surreal; Nezha loved you, but you didn't know that he cared this much. "And why me?" You asked, suddenly feeling embarrassed by your words. You couldn' t believe you just blurted that out, but you felt better once you were done talking. At least now Nezha knew what was bothering you. Nezha placed an arm around you, pulling you closer to him. "It would be easy to explain, but I think that you already know that part of the answer, don' t you?" His tone of voice was soft, and there was a slight smile on his lips. You nodded your head, feeling better noww that Nezha
knew exactly how you felt. Nezha sighed again. "Perhaps I am too blunt and forward sometimes," he mumbled under his breath. Then, he looked directly at you, his gaze piercing through your soul, searching yours for any signs of deception. When he saw none, his expression relaxed into one of pure adoration. "When I met you, I never believed in true love," he confessed. You remained quiet as you listened to him. "But then you opened your heart to me, and showed me that there was a place for me among your kind. That I'm not alone, but instead have someone special by my side. And in return, I fell in love with you, and I don't ever want to go back to being lonely again." Your face grew warm, and your eyes watered slightly. But you didn't cry.
Instead, you moved closer to Nezha, wrapping your arms around his waist. He wrapped his arms around your shoulders and pressed a kiss on the top of your head. "Thank you," you whispered, trying to hold back a couple tears. It was hard to speak when you felt like your chest might burst open. "You don't know how much this means to me." Nezha kissed the top of your head once more. "Don' worry about it. I'll always care for you," he said quietly. "I promise." You felt tears slip down your cheeks, but thankfully, neither of you said anything. For now, you needed this moment to be private; the last thing you needed was to embarrass yourself any further. So, for now, you allowed the two of you to simply enjoy each other's company in peace.
It was a calm night, you and Wukong were supposed to be watching a movie but he decided to make out instead.
You didn't mind, you loved kissing your boyfriend. The two of you would watch movies all day long, just cuddling or even playing games together, that's how close the two of you are. Wukong kissed you back, his lips moving slowly across yours as he gently cupped your face in his hands. You leaned into his touch, pulling away slightly so he could deepen the kiss. The two of you continued to kiss, you wrapped your arms around his neck, deepening it further as you moved your tongue against his. Wukong pulled away, leaving a trail of kisses down your jaw and neck as he went. You closed your eyes enjoying every moment of this.
You felt Wukong place soft pecks up your neck and, leaving small bites where he could reach. Suddenly you heard a thud, and the warmth of Wukong's
body left your side as he fell off of the couch. Wukong groaned softly, rubbing his head while looking up at you. You then let out a chuckle which Wukong widened his eyes at. Your chuckles soon turned into laughs as you laughed at him. He glared at you before getting up, trying his hardest not to smile. Wukong grabbed onto a pillow that was beside him as you continued to laugh. He turned around and chucked the pillow at you, hitting you on the forehead. You then wiped the tears from your eyes smiling, Wukong’s tail starts swaying slightly behind him.
"It's not that funny" He pouted," crossing his arms over his chest and huffing slightly. You rolled your eyes shaking your head no at your boyfriend as if telling him that it was still very funny. Wukong smiled then threw another pillow hitting you directly on the nose, which made you jump slightly but then smile. After a few more pillow fights the both of you laid back down on the couch, with Wukong snuggled up against you. You placed a gentle hand on his chest as he looked up at you with a pout. You chuckled quietly pressing a gentle kiss against his lips. "Make sure you don't fall off again" You chuckled as Wukong huffed. After a few minutes you felt Wukong's breathing become slower, he had fallen asleep against you. You chuckled lightly continuing to pet his hair as he slept peacefully. You looked back up to the TV to continue watching the movie.
