Something I wish the system community talked about more is fragments and the concept of "size" when it comes to parts.
In my own system, on PK it says we have like 22 alters but in reality, only half of those people are actually alters. They have different personalities, emotions, thoughts, wants, dreams, the whole deal.
Meanwhile, we have fragments and "smaller" alters that are less three dimensional. They're more one note, simple, not extending beyond themselves in a high degree. For example, a fragment named John. He's a religious introject and he can only co-front. All he does is sit there and talk about God and praise him.
I feel like this is just never mentioned in the system community. Maybe this is a little controversial, but I generally blanket any system count number I see as lower due to the presence of this fragments.
Fragments exist for a reason, they are part of the protection system our brains developed due to trauma but I also feel like they need different care than "larger", more realised alters.
Perhaps I'm wrong in these thoughts or have twisted them in some ways. Misinformation is rampant in these communities. Either way, I'd love to open up more lines of dialogue about this.
