15 struggles of a teen internet dad
i am a father of six. i'm 16. three sons, two gender-nonconforming badasses, and a daughter. they range from 12 to 15. between my eldest child status and parentification habits and their parental issues, we make an odd family unit. here's some of the shit that internet parents have to go through since internet kids feel more comfortable.
giving one of my sons the sex talk, but a very, very, abnormal one. he saw his internet mother and i talking about straps in the parent chat. he was curious. jackbox, of course, caused him to darken his google history.
almost leaving class during the day to make sure my kids make it through mental breakdowns at school or at home. i have threatened to take them to a wide variety of fast food restaurants during those times, despite not being able to make it there for certain amounts of time (because distance).
speedrun russian uno flip with my daughter, who loves the soviet aesthetic, and my eldest genderfluid kiddo, who kins technoblade. the game was 2 minutes long. i'm not sure who won.
dealing with actually having two straight children. like, seriously, two of six are straight. thought i would've raised them better than that.
family jackbox nights. leg sock. tigboo. coom.
being a therapist with no professional experience but almost 4 years of internet trauma dump receiving experience.
watching three of my youngest kill each other in minecraft prison while unable to join. i can have a lot of things, but minecraft java ain't one at the moment.
neurodivergency late nights. the trio of anxiety, adhd, and autism makes things a little strange.
buying my kids physical things they cannot posses, except for my three eldest. george the depression plush dog.
yelling at uneducated kids using inappropriate slurs or insults directed at my children.
waking up to 100+ messages that sound an awful lot like a broken microwave when read aloud
encouraging kids to get enough sleep so i don't have to sleep 20 hours a day for our sleep schedules to balance out
"GO EAT" "GO GET FOOD FIRST" "NO YOU"
dad, are you proud of me?
yes, kiddo. i always have been and i always will be.
