Some of yall are gonna be real disappointed when we meet aliens and they simply do not have any holes
This person assumes alien life has to function by the same rules that life on earth does. lol. lmao
..... you're right, that is objectively what happened in that show, huh...
Finding other trans people attractive is a crucial part of reducing one's own struggles with dysphoria, I am not joking about this. Obviously it is not ever a bad thing to want physical changes to help get where you want in your transition, but, once you start to realise people built like you now can be beautiful or handsome or even enviable for what are usually considered transgender traits, it can go a long way towards helping you feel like those traits aren't so bad to have after all...
Decided I'm not done. If you insist you can't do this because your self hatred is so strong it makes you think all other trans people are ugly or unpleasant or failing to live up to some lofty standard of normalcy, that's your business, but consider that I will not pity you for saying this in my notes. I will not pity you for thinking all trans people are repulsive, because that is an asshole thing to think, whether you're trans or not! It just is! Thanks.

a lot of doctors, dare I say most (I do dare)
are biased against chronic illness whether they admit it or not, do not know enough about them to treat them properly, are not willing to treat them long term, or are not willing to learn about new conditions and treatments.
treating chronic illness requires a willingness to learn and ongoing support. there is so little information about so many chronic illnesses... because doctors do not know about them and/or are not willing to learn. the fewer people who want to hear about it or deal with it, the fewer people want to diagnose or research it. a lot of research is from the past few years, despite there being records of these conditions for centuries or longer in many cases.
POTS, for example, diagnosed with a tilt table. easy. but most patients have been dismissed, belittled, or misdiagnosed by doctors at least once prior to a diagnosis. and it takes on average 8 doctors prior to a diagnosis. there is very little research and very little spending on it.
many experts struggle to get other doctors to stop rolling their eyes at genuine medical research. there is an awful sense of pride limiting medical progress. the keynote lecture this year at dysautonomia international was largely about how often autonomic researchers got told to shut the fuck up any time they wanted to talk about the autonomic nervous system, over the past several decades and beyond.
I use POTS as an example because I am familiar with the studies, and many studies are specific to people who have a POTS diagnosis, but many aspect of these negative medical experiencea are identical in other chronic illnesses.
doctors saying "this is just in your head", doctors saying "you only have anxiety", doctors saying "you probably do not have this" without running any tests, doctors running tests and refusing to diagnose despite meeting the criteria, doctors calling patients liars, doctors insisting a diagnosis is just mild and you just need to exercise /get over it/try harder, doctors refusing to believe a particular condition exists, doctors refusing to learn about new conditions or research, doctors never having heard of something before, doctors only knowing some/half/vague information and insisting they are an expert
and all of this contributes to why doctors often need more basic medical presentations than patients, because they either never came across a condition before or had their head up their ass every time they saw it previously and refuse to admit when they are wrong. meanwhile patients are more well-read. it blows
These same doctors also fuel the quacks who claim they can cure chronic conditions using crystals (etc) - when people with chronic illnesses are thrown to the side conmen see money in their desperate eyes.

Jurassic World did the Avatar thing where it made a gajillion dollars and left no cultural footprint whatsoever. Name your favorite Jurassic World character. What was your favorite line. It evaporated despite everyone seeing it.
WRONG fav character was the extra that ran away from the pterodactyls with two margheritas in hand
Gotta do everything myself around here
So, I went into this guy’s Wikipedia page, because he looked familiar. And there’s this big “Controversies” section, so I was preparing myself to read that even the margaritas/pterodactyls guy has sexually assaulted someone. But it turns out that he hasn’t. However, he:
- Has been sued for copyright infringement for a ‘blasphemous’ musical rendition of a monologue from the 1950s
- He was on a plane with U2′s Bono and his family, and the plane was shot by the Jamaican police, who believed they were smuggling marijuana. He wrote a song about the incident.
- He’s actually a singer, and his better known song in called MARGARITAVILLE. He also owns the Margaritaville Cafe restaurant chain. And has licensed Margaritaville Tequila, Margaritaville Footwear, and a Margaritaville Foods. He owns the Margaritaville Casino, has released a “Margaritaville Online” game, and he wrote and starred in a musical called “Escape to Margaritaville”
- He also wrote a song called “Math Suks”, which was condemned by the US National Council of Teachers of Mathematics for its alleged negative effect on children’s education.
- He was thrown out of a basketball game he was watching for using blasphemous language in front of kids.
- And he was detained by French customs for allegedly carrying over 100 pills of ecstasy. Although he was released after paying a fine, and, according to him, the pills were a B-vitamin supplement.
So, yeah, that was refreshing controversies section-wise, but now I don’t know what to do with all that information.
Maybe its my age, but i’m a little concerned that the fact he is a singer and wrote Margaritaville wasn’t prior knowledge and is considered a controversy
☝️
Beach, booze, Buffett.
Jimmy Buffett plays the margarita guy in Jurassic World because his most famous song is “Margaritaville” and this is therefore hilarious, I thought
absolutely obsessed with jimmy buffett being called “this guy”
Love the suggestion that the song and brand Margarativille are mentioned in passing on the Wikipedia page for uncredited Jurassic World extra Jimmy Buffett
Love the aesthetic
