hope one day Lena Dunham realizes that people don’t hate her because of her body shape but because of her nasty white feminism, racism, and the fact that she literally molested her little sister. I could go on and on but tl;dr she needs stop chalking up valid criticisms of her ugly personality to “they don’t like me bc I don’t conform to beauty standards!!” it’s so pathetic

Loosing your virginity: If you are scared or nervous in any way to loose your virginity, you are not ready. If you are being pressured by society or the people around you to loose your virginity, you are not ready. If you dont know the guy for more than a few months, you are not ready. If you laugh when you hear the words virginity, condom, vagina, or penis, you are not ready. If you are questioning your morals, you are not ready. If you don’t know how your body works or functions, you are not ready. If you are doing it just to do it, you are not ready. If you are emotionally unstable, you are not ready. If you think the guy is going to not like your body without clothes, you are not ready. If you are not ready, you shouldn’t do it. Girls, especially, don’t know when they are mentally ready to loose their virginity. Loosing your virginity doesn’t really have an age limit. Whether you are 15 or 25, if you are not mentally prepared in the right state of mind, you should not have sex. During teen years you are going to want to go and have sex with anyone just because you can or you’ve been dating for 6 months. But if you’re not ready, your heart will break when they decide to leave you. So prepare yourself before you do anything. And please, please be safe when you decide to do so.

Like a focus on obedience, a focus on virginity is short-sighted and doesn’t actually prepare a young person for adulthood. And that’s a problem, because our job as parents is to prepare our children for adulthood. Whether your child was obedient as a kid isn’t going to matter jack shit if they’re unable to make their own decisions or communicate, cooperate, and compromise with others as adults. And similarly, whether your child remained a virgin until marriage (or high school graduation, or what have you) is so far beyond irrelevant if they grow up to enter abusive sexual relationships because you never taught them about things like consent or bodily autonomy. In many ways our parenting must be future-focused, not present-focused.
