For now thats all! Thank you so much for stopping by ♡
Hey guys, I just wanted to adress my recent absence and apologize for not writing as frequently as I had been. For some reason motovation comes in super small bursts of energy and while its great at generating ideas, I could barely finish any and would go on to the next and now have a ton of drafts I don't know what to do with. Not to mention i recently got my first job and have been pretty busy with that. Also, I know im not obligated to make fics and post them for others online, but the apology is simply for the fact I made this account to post and write and now have left it empty for a while.
I hope to get back to posting soon as I still have a ton of ideas I havent fully fleshed out but requests may be on hold for a while or so? Especially considering i haven't even reached Vil's overblot in twst at all and thats the main franchise I write for...and speaking of which: I have been desperately trying to write for other fandoms as well—mainly dc (like nightwing, red hood, etc.). What can I say? Im a sucker for pretty men.
Nonetheless, I do want to say thank you all for the support you've given me so far and I hope to interact more with you guys soon by feeding you more fics! Take care until then <3
(Oh! And I'm currently trying to focus back on my art again and actually draw something so that has taken a bit of my days as well.)
(Octavinelle headcanons based on this request. Request synopsis: Octavinelle trio, with a girlfriend who also lives in the coral sea, but she is a jellyfish Mer with an adorable personality.)

Azul Ashengrotto
(Since the day Azul met you, you flipped his entire world upside down.)
● Azul absolutely adores you, like borderline obsession adoration.
● Azul loves watching you float next to him whenever your near, watching your tentacles shift around with the current as he tried to mimic the movement himself, curious to see if it was easier for him to swim that way. News flash—It definitely wasn't.
● Azul enjoys watching you swim considering you arent a fast swimmer like himself and more of a floater, but he still finds you breathtaking.
● He's often very red around you too.
● You could do the smallest thing like hold his hand or brush your tentacle against his when sleeping—and he would burst into flames.
● However, despite having someone similar to him, deep down he's always worried he wont be good enough to protect you.
● He knew how paranoid you could be sometimes out in the open sea—which may or may not have made him create an octopus pot large enough for you to fit into with him–but other than that he felt helpless to protect you.
● He acted like his tentacles werent just as threatening as a quick swimmer could be…
● But albeit, he absolutely would worship the water you swam in, doing anything in his power to make sure you were always comfortable with him and well taken care of.
● Not to mention everytime he studied he would always make sure you had a safe place to swim nearby him, someplace you wouldnt drift off and could lean on him if you wished.
● He also took it upon himself to educate and read plenty of books about the species of mer you were, ensuring that he would rarely make a mistake in the relationship.
● After all, you were his entire world. He was not going to lose you so easily.
Floyd Leech
(This man loves to bite you—)
● Despite how many times you mentioned at the beginning of your relationship that you were nervous to go out a lot in the open because you felt like prey to everything that breathed—he loves teasing you about it.
● Floyd often makes soft remarks about you being cute enough to eat up just to watch you get all red and flustered. He makes sure to flash his sharp teeth too, leaning in close enough to graze his mouth across your ear just to sigh deeply and collapse into you. He’s all bark and no bite—unless he is actually trying to bite your shoulder.
● His favorite places to nibble on are either your neck, or your wrist, only to press a lingering kiss on your skin afterwards and whisper in your ears how much he loves you.
● While Floyd loves teasing you, he loves making sure you feel safe enough even more.
● Each time you go out with him, and he even sees your expression remotely shift into fear or panic, he’s already wrapping his arms around your waist and brushing his tail fin against your tentacles to distract you. To make you feel surrounded and hidden away from any potential threat.
● If anyone ever did pose a real threat to you—that would be a whole completely different story. And let's just say those sweet bites he gave you were not the same fleshed out wounds he gave to others that made you feel uncomfortable.
● He knows you cannot swim fast, so on occasion he’ll wrap you up in his arms making sure youre secure and holding on tight before swimming as far as he can—anywhere you want to visit for the day. He acts like taking you places are mini joyrides, like a turtle getting moves across a road instead of having to take two days to get to the other side.
● It was a bit embarrasing at first getting swam around by someone who was fast enough to rival a rip current, but overtime you looked forward to the adventures.
● Overall, Floyd acts really immature with you sometimes, but when it really matters he becomes the most protective and serious boyfriend the coral sea has ever had.
Jade Leech
(Hear me out but I think Jade would be so fascinated with you that it almost drives him mad…)
● Everyone knows Jade loves mushrooms, and his girlfriend embodied the shape of one entirely.
● May or may not call you shroomy when he wants to tease you.
● He loves swimming with you, encouraging you to use your arms and balance your body better to stay against the curent.
● He actually tries to teach you how to swim against it a few times, resulting in many long cuddle sessions later at night because of how much he pushed you.
● Despite his fasination with you and trying to help you improve your stamia in the water, he also likes to pamper you a lot of times.
● Some days he would offer to swim you around in coves off the side of the beaches nearby. After all, he knew how much of a ‘snack’ you felt like when around too many mer folk. So, a nice and secluded area where you could float around was a perfect date.
● Whenever he brings back samples of things from the land above youre the first person he shows them to.
● He'd bring you to his place, settle you in his lap comfortably and then begin rambling for hours about his discoveries while his tail wagged like a puppy.
● It was a rare occurance to see Jade so soft—so carefree, considering he was always worried about taking care of his brother—but these special moments were reserved for you and you only. Which somehow made the moments all the more relaxing in the end.

The look on Azul's face embodied the word fear. His chest felt tight. His eyes couldnt focus. His face was burning up slowly, a deep blush running down his neck as a drop of sweat clung to his cheek. He looked like he wanted the bath to swallow him up right now. To drown—if that was even possible in this form. It wasnt. But still, somehow the idea seemed better than having his girlfriend staring right at him.
While Azul hypervenalated in the large tub you just stood in awe in the doorway. You tried not to be rude. You really did…but you couldnt help the fact that your gaze was running all over his body. All over his tentacles. Your jaw almost hit the floor, the sight of your beloved boyfriend in his mer form again nearly making you suffocate. He was drop dead gorgeous.
The sound of Floyd snickering behind you made your face tinge pink. You were staring.
You should stop staring.
It was rude to stare!
It was rude to want to drink up every inch of your boyfriend's looks right now.
Rude to want to feel the urge to go kiss him silly and shower him in compliments.
But you couldn't help it, your entire body frozen in its place, completely shut down. You barely heard the voice calling your name until you felt a careful hand cradle you chin. You blinked, confusion written all over your face as you turned to see Jade smiling at you. He closed your jaw for you gently, you face turning crimson at the realization.
“I think shrimpy likes what she sees~ ” Floyd teased from behind you, trying to contain his laughter at the fact your jaw pretty much hit the floor when you saw Azul. Jade chuckled along softly, stepping back as you covered your mouth in embarrassment, the interaction only doubling Azul's torment.
“I'd say so,” Jade hummed, grinning wide while he shifted his gaze to Azul who was still a blubbering mess in the tub, the water splashing onto the floor as he tried to sink deep into the water. Luckily, the tub he was in was big enough to hold his entire body—tentacles and all, but it wasnt exactly too deep, not for him at least.
“Do you have anything you wanna say about how he looks?” Jade suggested, the comment making Azul nearly burst into tears.
No. Please no…
Azul was nearly in tears, his throat going dry, his chest tightening and his hands clawing at his closest tentacle, nearly drawing blood. He couldn't bare the idea of your judgement. Couldn't bare to hear what you had to say about this side of him.
He hated how he looked. He always had. And it was bad enough he looked like this when he overblotted. His thoughts shifted immediately into concern.
Would you be afraid of him? Was he scary to you like this? Did you think he was going to hurt you…like he almost did last time?
His heart pounded at the idea of you fearing him, of you being in here so long while he was like this. At the idea that his girlfriend saw what he truly was deep down.
His chest lurched as he watched your hands slowly uncover your mouth, your eyes averting for a split second to Jade and Floyd as if uncertain of what to say.
His nails successfully broke his wet flesh, blue blood begining to stain the water. But the pain didnt phase him. Didn't make him flinch. He held his breath when he watched you take a sigh and open your mouth.
Please no. Please don't— I can't take it! Please—
“He looks absolutely gorgeous…”
Azul's brain nearly short circuited, Jade and Floyd whipping their heads around quickly, not expecting you to give into their teases that easily. Not expecting you to admit anything really. They had expected you to try and shove them off, maybe say something along the lines of he always looks good, or he looks fine, but they didn't expect that. And clearly neither did Azul.
The room fell silent for a moment, not even a breath exhaled before a deep laughter exploded behind you.
“I knew it! I knew you had the hots for him when he overblotted!” Floyd screeched, doubling over in a fit of cackles while Jade's face just turned a slight pink. You covered your face lightly to try and hide the dark amount of blush that produced when Floyd said that, the outburst making all of them shocked, except Floyd of course.
“D-Don't say it like that!” You whined, trying to glare at him behind your ashamed expression, clearly not denying the fact that you had indeed thought that his overblot body was…attractive. It was also the first time you had even seen anyone look like that too, let alone you pretty boyfriend.
“Oh c'mon! When I checked on you the day after it happened all you could do was blush and mutter about wanting to see him again!” Floyd blurted out, deepening the shame of it all. You should probably not have even mentioned Azul around Floyd after the overblot, your mind shifting instantly to his good looks before the fear of it all.
This time Jade was the one to have his jaw hit the floor, shocked at the fact you had ever thought such a thing. Meanwhile Azul was boiling in the tub, his vision blurry and his mind scattered.
You thought he was hot the first time you saw him…when he overblotted?
Eventually when Floyd calmed and ceases his verbal harrasment, you were given the short story about how Azul ran out of his transfiguration potions and they didn't have extras at the time, meaning for a while until they went shopping or a miracle happened, Azul would be stuck like this. You were a bit skeptical of their story, questioning them about the secret supply Azul always kept for them a compartment under his desk, but they claimed it was bone dry.
You asked about the extras in the hidden drink cabinet at the bar. None. The ones in Azul's drawer? Gone. The ones in the lounge storage area? Apparently missing.
When you finally asked about the extra emergency one Azul had given you to hang on for him back at Ramshackle, they quickly changed the subject and claimed they had already asked Grim. Apparently the little beast spilled it…which wouldn't be too unbelievable if not for the fact that Jade and Floyd seemed to be too happy about this whole ordeal.
Nonetheless, when they asked you take care of Azul in the meantime so they could run the lounge, their was no way you were declining. Even if Azul was extremely flustered at the idea of you having to feed him, wash him, and keep him company…but as the tweels left you two alone he knew there wasn't anyone else he could really rely on unless he wished to starve for a few days.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
After reassuring Azul about twenty times you didnt mind taking care of him, and maybe slipping in a compliment or two to keep him quiet, you sat in a comfortable silence, your eyes trailing the tentacle he had moved for you to see close up.
It stretched nearly as long as the bath was, perhaps double if he wasnt sitting. You didn't even have to see him fully stretched to know it either, watching as the tip of the tentacle curving awkwardly as to not get too close to you.
Azul stared silently, watching your every breath, every twitch of your expression for some sense of disgust, some indication that you had lied earlier about how you felt for him. But he couldn't find any…nothing but awe in your eyes.
“Did you really mean it…” he whispered, his voice bringing you out of your thoughts. Shifting your full attention on him caused him to blush so hard the tips of his ears almost looked black, his eyes averting yours as he stumbled for the right words. You only smiled at the look in his eyes, gently laying your arms on the edge of the tub to get a better look at him. He had your full attention, and you wanted him to know that. That you weren't afraid. That you weren't disgusted.
“What you said about me? W-was it true?” He whispered, looking down in regret at his wounded tentacle, the blood still caked onto his fingers like ink. His hands clenched tight under the water, still invisible to your adoring eyes. You held back a sweet laugh, your lips parting with a sigh as you laid your head down, your vision making him tilt with the angle.
“Of course I did.” You replied sweetly, the words sounding like honey dripping off your lips. “I think youre the most beautiful man I've ever had the pleasure to lay eyes on, Azul. And I mean that,” His breath hitched at the sudden contact he felt on his displayed tentacle, your fingers gently rubbing the squishy skin with the tenderness of what he could only compare to of an angel. Thats what he swore he was seeing right now. What he was watching slowly… an angel, leaning down to kiss to press a kiss against his exposed skin.
A few hours later, Azul had exponentially softened around you, growing more comfortable with each awed look you sent his way. Not to mention you told him you text Floyd to make his favorite dish for dinner, one he wanted to desperately decline considering he didn't want to eat so much calories in front of you. However, you had already seen the look in his eyes and still sent the text.
When you left to get the kaarage from Floyd he waited patiently, silently yearning for your adoring gaze to meet his figure once more. It made him feel a bit selfish—to want to keep you here just so he could hear you whisper how pretty he was again, or how much you loved the look of his wet hair—but after the years of grossed out looks and degrading words he heard, it was no wonder he wished to have you by his side.
Feeding him was a tad difficult at first, because he didn't want you to see the inked stains on his hands, and he couldn't eat properly with his left. He claimed he fell on his hand earlier or something and tried to get you to just eat the food yourself. But that was not stopping you.
“Darling, I insist, I'm okay.” He smiled, watching as you grumbled with your face hidden from his view. He assumed you were pouting or maybe cursing his stubbornness under your breath. But if anything he was just happy you weren't nagging him with eating again.
“Besides, that many calories is well over my daily intake and ingesting such foods might—mnph!”
The taste of chicken flooded Azul's mouth, your face pressed against his, your tongue pushing the food in his mouth before he could even finish his sentence. When you pulled away, Azul was baffled, a soft choking sound leaving his lips as he awkwardly ate the chicken. He nearly gasped for breath when he swallowed it, his head sinking against the wall before he felt a cold bottle of water on his neck and peeked between his hair to see your warm smile.
Sevens…you had him in the palm of your hand.
The little chicken stunt seemed to do the trick as you quietly fed him, over the tub now, his little cheeks puffing with every fork full of chicken you fed him.
“I-i really appreciate your care for me, pearl,” he mumbled between chews, unable to help the happiness that he expression in his tone. “Im sorry you were dragged into this.” He swallowed, taking a sip of the water with his left land.
“Azul, I don't mind at all!” You rebuttled, secrectly offended at his apology. “I know you don't like being like this, but I seriously do not mind it at all.” you smiled, raising the fork once more to feed him another bite. “I'm just glad you're okay with me helping. I'd much rather prefer I help than leave you to Floyd or Jade all night.” A small smile grew at his lips, his mouth opening to receive the fried chicken eagerly.

Placing the empty dish on the counter in the bathroom you sighed and carefully took your shoes off, not bothering to stay in them if you would be sleeping in here tonight. The thought of staying wasnt confirmed, but you knew the twins would most definitely make it happen if it wasnt it the works already.
“Darling?” Azul called from across the room, his eyes bearing into your back.
“Yeah, baby?” You replied softly, placing your shoes down as he motioned you back over. “Is everything alright?” You asked, carefully checking the water temperature to make sure it hadnt gotten too cold for him. Instead of answering right away, you felt his tentacle shift against your fingers, your eyes lifting to find his face inches from yours.
“Would…it be too selfish to ask you to join me?”
Your eyes widened slightly, your hand falling still. He wanted you to sit with him? In the bath?
He noticed the way your expression flickered, the way your body tensed for a moment. He thought about apologizing for even making such a statement in the first place. Before he could say anything though, he already felt your hand press down on his body, your leg slowly lifting to climb into the tub.
For the first few minutes you both were a ball of nerves—you worried about smushing one of his tenatcles too much or making him uncomfortable—while he was worried about the skin to skin contact, a bit concerned having you pressed against him might change your mind.
But…after a while, things settled.
His arms were wrapped gently around your waist, two of his tentacles encasing you, bringing your body flush against his to the point where he couldn't miss any part of your body. You had your arms around his back, your nails scratching gently against his skin where he always smiled at when the two of you cuddled or slept. It was still a tad awkward whenever he shifted and your whole body was moved or you tried to move your arm and hit the tub wall, yet it was comfortable. Peaceful. A kind of euphoric feeling that neither of you had to speak of. It was just shared.
Azul watched as you silently pressed your fingers against his skin, the touch slightly explorative rather than subtle. He didn't seem to mind though. In fact, he slid his wet arms around you tighter, his tenatcles rubbing against your warm arms to let you get a small feel. You hummed at the contact, your expression softening.
“That feels really nice, Azul…” You voiced against his skin, a small kiss planted on his shoulder in thanks. He couldn't control the way his heart skipped at the affection, his eyes searching for yours as he slowly shifted dragging the same area over your skin again. He felt your weight shift almost instantly, the happy sigh that left your lips making him only want more.
“So, soft…” you mumbled sleepily, tucking your head against the crook of his neck, a habit you had naturally adapted to after sleeping over with him most nights. The gentle praise on your lips had him beaming, his confidence rising just enough to place a small kiss against your temple before you drifted off to sleep. As the sound of your tiny snore and mumbles filled the room he made sure to prop you up enough that your head wouldn't slip under the water, his body supporting most of your weight as you slipped unconcious, his touch still present as you slept.

“Well, thats rather…interesting?” Jade muttered, opening the door to check on you in the morning, the forgotten pillows and blanket he was supposed to bring you last night lingering in his arms. Floyd pushed past him impatiently, not bothering to contain his voice when he saw you wrapped up in Azuls limbs.
“Hey?! How come he hugs shrimpy like that and not me?!”
The two of you shot up at Floyd's tease, your eyes shooting open and instintively pushing against Azul, startled from the noise. Azul let you go instantly, fear coursing through him at the sudden disapproval. You landed awkwardly in the water, your legs tangled between Azul's giant tenatcles, one of them catching your head before you knocked it against the tile.
“Floyd! Whats wrong with you?!” You whined, not even registering you were completely soaked now, your collared shirt slowly absorbing the water and changing from white to see threw. You didn't notice it at first, fussing at Floyd for startling you both before Azul suddenly pulled you harsh against his chest, your nose smacking into his torso. “A-azul whats—”
“Darling, please don't move.” He growled, nearly every tentacle surrounding your frame from the two stupid eels lingering in front of the door. Realizing the wardrobe shift, Jade snatched Floyd back, pushing his head down quickly into a bow as he apologized. “Jade get off—” Floyd whimpered, trying to shove off the boy's hand before Azul's voice cut through the room. “Out. Now.”
At the simple command, the door shut instantaneously, leaving you to try and sit up, unsure of what just happened.
“Azul whats wrong? Did they…” You words cut as a wet tentacle encased gently around your chest, no pressure added to the grip but enough to cover up your bra from showing through. It hit you like a freight train, your body tensing up at the contact. “Azul let me go! I-i need to go change!” You pushed against him heavily, a soft grunt leaving his lips as he pulled you back down.
“Darling, sit still.” He bit out, the blush covering his face making you freeze. “Please…let me help.” He whispered, looking away to the counter where a towel sat. You observed his tentacle closest to the wall stretch out, picking up the corner of the towel with ease. He brought it close to the edge before he shut his eyes tight and his grip softened.
“Here…for you.”

During the time you walked back to his dorm room you shivered every so slightly, the chill from the halls and the fact that you slept in a bath last night hitting your body with small spasms. You made it to his room in a short time, locking the door and heading to his closet to grab a spare change of clothes, his reaction replaying in your mind.
You knew your boyfriend was a sweetheart— a gentlemen. He had completely outdone himself this time though. The way he ushered Jade and Floyd out of the room the instant he saw your shirt. The way he concealed your chest even from himself. The way he shut his eyes for you so you could climb out without him catching a peak…sevens this man was perfect.
You tried not to linger too long in his room, taking one of his softer shirts and some joggers you left one night to wear, stripping the wet clothes and tossing them into a small pile for later.
You dropped your bracelet on the way over, your eyes catching a glimmer of something under the bed when you reached down to pick it up.
How odd…
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
On the way to the kitchen you twired the glass in-between your fingers slowly, watching the purple liquid swish around with every step. You arrived at the kitchen, Azul's breakfast waiting there perfectly on the counter. You grabbed for it, but a hand beat you to it first.
“Ah-ah-ah, shrimpy!” The glass scraped against the table, Floyd's finger tugging the plate back. “If you want to feed the octopus, I'm going to need that vile you've got first…”
Obviously, you came back inside the bathroom Azul waited in with his breakfast in your arms. He looked up to greet you, already pushing himself to the edge of the tub and reaching out for you, only to hesitate once he saw you biting at your lip.
“Is something troubling you, Pearl?”
“Whats the transfiguration potion color again?” You blurted out, ignoring his question entirely, your nose scrunching while you flickered your gaze to his.
“P-pardon? I thought you knew,” he frowned, upset at the thought of you forgetting one of the most entrusted things he gave you. The thing that Floyd claimed Grim had broken. You called Grim to ask him about it before leaving Azul's room, but he didn't pick up.
“Its purple. Right?” You replied, your voice softening as you sat down on the edge of the tub, putting his plate beside you with a silence that unnerved him.
“Yes…yes it is.” He confirmed, his tentacle coming up to brush across your back to try and soothe the contorted look on your face. The scowl hidden in your lips. He asked why you wanted to know if you got the answer correct, but you decided not to mention why. You kept in in the back of your mind as you fed him his breakfast, the weird tone in Floyd's voice echoing in your ears.
“If you want to feed the octopus, I'm going to need that vile you've got first.”
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Considering the clear stress in your body, Azul offered you to lay on his chest as you had last night, ensuring he would keep your shirt dry this time if he was startled. You obliged, stepping into the tub like before only to flop down on him. Azul winced on impact but wrapped you up anyways, watching as you settled when he ran his limb over your shoulders.
The two of you sat silent for a hour or so, the only sound coming from the room being the shift in water when Azul would rub your back or shift you further onto his chest. He shut his eyes after a while, the feeling of your warmth breath against his chest making him melt, his body reacting silently to the feeling of contentment. He didnt even notice when his tentacle on your back slowed. When it crept to the hem of your shirt. When it slid against the bare skin of your body.
The only indication something even happened was when you squirmed a bit, your hands digging slightly into the flesh covering his spine.
He peered open one of his eyes, his brows raising only to find your skin warm, you breaths uneven. Unsure of the situation he sat up, his hands cradling your face to check your eyes.
“Pearl? Hey, talk to me? Whats wrong? Do you have a fever?” He rambled, his limbs persistently grazing over your hips, his expression dimming when you clenched your jaw.
“You u-um—I just…” you grumbled, struggling your inner thoughts as he rubbed his thumb across your cheek, bringing your eyes back to his. “damnit Azul…you just feel…” you choked out, settling to hide your face in his chest to not embarrass yourself further. To not give in to every thought in your mind telling you to kiss him. You weren't even sure if he was trying to fluster you on purpose, but with each slimy caress your composure cracked just a little.
It took a moment for him to understand the cause of your words, a deep swallow heard as you felt the tentacle freeze. You looked up at him weakly, your fingers twitching on his skin, the look on your face all too familiar to him.
He cleared his throat, apologizing quick so he could explain himself. “I didn't know I was doing that, my love! Please forgive me for intruding when you were trying to rest.” He stammered, swallowing again as a dryness in his throat occured.
You shook your head, your hands reaching to wrap around his neck instead, your request straight to the point. You didn't care if it was accidental. You didn't ask him to stop. In fact after a moment or two you asked him to keep going.
“Mmn…I'm so glad…I get to…see you like this…” you gasped between each kiss, your mouth colliding hard against his. Azul felt like his entire body was receiving shocks with each brush of your lips. With each squeeze on his back you gave him. He desperately lapped up each word you spoke to him, swallowing hard everytime your tongue breached his lips. He felt like he hadn't even had breakfast, absolutely starving to taste every inch of your mouth you let him explore.
The request you gave earlier still stood, expanding further as his two other tentacles tended to your body. His hands had the pleasure of being in your hair, each soft tug making you groan only to be met with a matching vocalization from him. Meanwhile, the one tentacle kept under your shirt, squeezing, rubbing, pulling at your back with all its might. Another occupied your leg, coiled up to your thigh in attempts to hold you close, while the third resided behind your neck, aiding him to tilt your head perfectly so his lips could slot against yours. It was a bit messy, a bit rough, definitely a bit different, but you both consumed every second of it, passionate about taking in every inch of one another.
You had always found him attractive, especially when he kissed you and his hands would dig into your hips and situate you just right in his lap so you wouldn't have to worry about hurting your neck to kiss him. But this was so very different than the normal kisses the two of you exchanged. Instead of one area being attended to, he practically had your entire body filled with his touch. You didn't even care about how he sank in the tub, dragging you deeper into the water changing your second pair of dry clothes to wet. All you cared about was him.
He tried to contain his excitement, he really did. He tried to keep his limbs steady, respectful. And he tried to keep a level head—tried to keep your head above the water too. Yet all of it left when you told him about wanting this more often, wanting the real him. He felt your lips move off him, and he didn't have time to protest before he felt your teeth dig into his shoulder.
You felt water splash into your face after the nibble, the two of you brought back to your reality, silence lingering for a moment between trying to catch your breaths.
Then the laughter kicked in.
Azul couldn't kiss you under the water after all, you couldn't breathe it like he could. He really wished he could, feeling a bit bad for ruining the moment you decided to try and bite him, but the matter of it all was still peaceful. Soft. Warm.
Just the two of you smiling down at one another, realizing you two were completely enthralled with the other.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
It was nearly dinner by now, the aftereffects of your makeout session leaving the two of wrecked. You hadn't even bothered for lunch, too tired by the time you were done exchanging kisses, your body limp.
Azul had never kissed you so much before. Never held you so tight. Never stayed long enough for you to break down his walls and see too much of his vulnerability. Never splashed you with water during a kiss either—but the moment you two shared had still been magical, the agreement to take a long nap after the excursion not even needing to be discussed. Both of you were just happy to be in one anothers arms. Happy to have time together where he wasn't worried about contracts or keeping the twins out of trouble. All he was worried about was you, and keeping the water warm enough to not give you a cold.
Dinner rolled around and there was a knock at the door. Your eyes remained shut, your mind spent from the past twenty-four hours octopus care giver role you had stepped in for. So, when Azul heard the sound, he was the one to reply.
“Come in.”
The door creaked open softly, a breathless Grim met with him instead of a particular eel.
“Grim?” Azul mumbled, covering your ears when he realized he might wake you. What was that furball doing here so late?
Azul wanted to question him as hard as he could, ask him why he broke the vile he gave you, ask him why he hadnt returned your calls or even stopped by. Some companion he was.
Grim however held up a purple liquid in a vile before Azul even got a second breath out.
Oh.
Oh…
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Azul nearly knocked their heads in when he finally got his legs back, his expression full of anger and embarrassment at the stunt the eels had pulled on him. They took the scolding proudly though, only nodding or exchanging pleased looks before returning to watch him pace around like a chicken with his head cut off.
According to Grim, the twins had stopped by when you first came over to the lounge a day ago to get a snack. They offered him a large some of tuna in exchange for the purple potion you kept in your desk, and he easily traded it, not even realizing what it was before it was too late. After not seeing you for a day, and his phone being dumb—or the fact he couldn't tap any of the buttons correctly, he decided to show up. Only Floyd and Jade kept him occupied for a while until Grim managed to swipe the vile back.
As the boys got chewed out and admitted to their crimes for the love of the game and perhaps to show Azul you wouldn't care about his merform, you laid peacefully in his bed, finally back into dry clothes, a dry bed, a dry place to sleep. Not that you didn't enjoy sleeping on Azul's chest, but you could confirm a dry bed was better than a wet one.
You contemplated waiting up, wanting to thank Grim for helping you and Azul, or wait for Azul to come back so you could sleep beside him.
“Get some rest, my pearl. I'll handle the Leech issue.” You remebered his words all of a sudden, the idea of sleep not sounding like the worst idea. You went to shut your phone off, leaning over to place it by a spare case for Azul's glasses. Your hand lingered as a lightbulb clicked in your brain.
When Azul got back to his room, Grim following in tow ready to curl up at your feet, Azul noticed your phone open on his beside table, his eyes lingering for a moment after he helped Grim onto the bed and the beast curled up beside your leg.
Curiosity got the best of him while he slipped into his pajamas, gently rubbing the red mark you had left on his shoulder. He felt his heart race when he saw the words on your screen, his eyes welling with tears at the list.

How to take care of an octopus:
> Compliment him any chance you get. Maybe ask him to show you this side more often.
> Feed him crispy chicken and sneak in a kiss.
> Make sure he sleeps happy—preferably lay on his chest and snuggle with him.
> Ensure he eats a yummy breakfast.
> Show lots of love and praise, he responds well to it.
> Keep in a warm bath.
> maybe keep in a big tank? Warm water.
> Kisses and a small water fight—he plays fair and does not drown on purpose.
> Ask for back rubs if he's comfortable! (He is very soft and squishy)
> Lightly scold to tell you when he's injured himself next time. Maybe invest in waterproof first aid kit or check tentacles prior for any injury?
> Make him laugh and smile.
> Also look into octopus pajamas or plushies—want to see the reaction.
> Most importantly: Reassure him he's the most beautiful man I've ever laid eyes on…
Honestly I really enjoyed writing this but chances are within five thousand words i could have made an error lol. But thank you for reading it anyways and hopefully this satisfies my first anon compliment on my crazed obsession with writing about Azul. It really does mean a lot to hear positive feedback.
Thanks for reading! - your dear author, moonflower.

﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
◇ In crowded spaces if he doesn't have his hands on you already, the second he thinks your even slightly uncomfortable he's already finding a quieter area, leading you away by the waist and insuring you're doing okay. He had a social battery thay could last for a day or two, but he knew everyone wasnt the same, and he would hate for his girlfriend to be spent and still have to be around a ton of other people.
◇ You like skincare? No—you now have to love it. If you aren't watching a movie, going on cute dates, or cuddling, Cater is trying to pamper your whole face. Masks, lotions, serums—anything to run the pads of his thumbs across your cheeks and hear your laugh when he purposely kisses your freshly moisturized lips. He always insists you two have matching flavor chapsticks too.
—Bonus: He adores having you do his skincare just as much as he does yours. The first time he saw a face mask in your room he was begging for you to try some on him. This man doesn't have a inch of toxic masculinity in his body and would literally go all out—cucumbers on his eyes and everything. Anything to see you happy and see your pretty smile.
◇ His magicam has literally just turned into a fan account at this point. Pictures of you surrounded his entire page. His hand holding yours? Posted. The photo booth picture of him smiling into your kiss? Posted. The little cakes you had Trey help you make for him that fell onto the ground? Posted. And he also felt so bad he tried to eat some of the less dirt covered ones which you may or may not have freaked out about. Nonetheless, he's eating up every little thing you do, snapping a picture of it and telling the entire world how proud he is of his beautiful girlfriend.
◇ If you ever have a bad day and Cater finds out, he's already snuck a few lemon tarts from Trey, drawn you a bath at Ramshackle and left his phone in on with your favorite show. He also took the time to take Grim shopping for some tuna so you didn't have to worry about the little beast interrupting your bathtime. –Bonus: Whenever your sore or have any headaches, neck pain, etc— he's giving you a warm massage afterwards, leaving little kisses along your skin and making sure he doesn't leave until you feel better. He usually stays when you feel bad though, insisting you lean on him for anything you need.
◇ Another thing about him is that Grim surprisingly enjoys the red head's company. Cater has a high social battery most times and his personality can fit perfectly with Grim's rambunctiousness. On a day where Grim's is more grumpy it can take Cater a while to get Grim to accept his presence or get him off of you, but Cater would either offer him fancy tuna—courtesy of an unsuspecting Trey—or he might just let Grim spare with his clones to burn off some pent up emotions.
◇ Cater is the one of the most loyal men in all of twisted wonderland. You're in Crimson city on a date and some girl who follows him on Magicam tries to come talk to him? Lets just say he's not too pleased. The minute the girl comes up and mentions she loves his account he smiles and let's her spark up a conversation, his hand intertwined with yours to make sure she knows he's taken. But the second she asks for a photo or gets too touchy, he's not having it. Sure he loves his social media and fans, but he loves you more than all of them—the fans obviously—and he wouldn't dare to let anything mess up what he had with you.
◇ Speaking of loyalty, he can get quite protective. Most of his friends assumed he'd be on the easier going side considering how happy go lucky he was all the time, but having his partner be at a school of all boys? He always has his eyes on you. He isn't protective in an overbearing way, but in a way thats just the right amount of catious. "They weren't making you uncomfortable, right babe?" He would ask after seeing the smallest of shifts in your expression. Most of the times things were okay and he was just a little paranoid. Though the one time someone had pressed a bit too far, he handled it instantly. He also might have bashed them on Magicam too if it was bad enough…
◇ Its never a dull moment with him. Carnival dates, movie dates, picnics, photoshoots (he just wants more cute pictures of you), shopping dates and cafe visits are a minimum for him. He just sees it as a way of expressing his love for you. (Don't tell me this man wouldn't spoil his partner.) He especially loves it when he takes you shopping for new clothes and gets to see you all dressed up, or he buys a matching pair of pajamas for you and him to wear when you come over. He's definitely cooing at you everytime you step out of the changing room like your the most precious thing in all of twisted wonderland. Or better yet if you need help with an outfit and you let him come in the changing room with you, he's making sure to give you a kiss before helping you slip it on.
◇ I'm all for the idea that Cater gives the best cuddles, but no one could tell me this man wouldn't secretly be a weird sleeper. Keep in mind he still holds onto you when he sleeps, but he might be flat on top of you and drooling on your pillow, or somehow end up halfway off the bed. If he's not trying to mush you together, he's most likely butt up, leg bent and clinging onto your waist, his face in your shirt. You have no idea how, or why he was sleeping like that when you woke up, but you couldn't help but laugh when you looked for him and found his cheeks squished against your stomach. On the occasion if he falls asleep while your not in bed yet he looks like a victorian child with the plague. His shoulders are stiff, his body is straight as a pencil and he's grumbling in his sleep until you curl up next to him.
◇ Cater isn't one for large amounts of pda in public. Yeah, he will kiss your cheek before class, hold your hand under the table at lunch, and carry you dramatically like you would melt if there was a chance you could step in any dirty puddles if its muddy or raining. But the best moments are when you two are alone and he doesnt have to perform for anyone else. He doesn't have to be the loudest in the room. He doesn’t have to have the best smile or say the best jokes, he just let's himself be. His quick pecks turn slow, tender against your mouth. His hands are in your hair or rubbing on your back rubbing against the skin above your waist to hear your soft hums. He grows softer, more vulnerable. He becomes needy. "Baby—please…don't s-stop kissing me."
"Sevens…you feel so good."
"You're so gorgeous."
"Just relax baby…that's it...like that."
*Cough cough* anyways— He can't resist praising you between kisses unable to control his thoughts when you return his affection or leave trails of kisses down his neck. He just loves you too much and can't help but cherish everything you do. He never takes advantage of a vulnerable moment between you two though, he just keeps it tender enough to make both of you get butterflies until he gets hungry enough to suggest getting food or going to sleep.
◇ He's so understanding of any girl problems you have. Growing up with three sisters, this man is a walking Wikipedia for anything that could be bothering you. He knows what kinds of teas help sooth cramps. He knows the best foods for you to eat depending on how bad you're feeling. Not to mention if you wear heels or have a dress malfunction he's already pulling out a little bandaid from his pocket for your scraped ankles, or adjusting the strap of your dress the moment it tries to slip down your shoulder.
Sorry this was a bit rushed but I think it turned out okay! Plus it was really fun to write~
I can't explain it but Cater has me in a chokehold rn so expect more content of him! Might do another fic or more hcs soon and then will try other characters as inspiration hits me. ♡

﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
It had started off as something small. A simple mistake. A misunderstanding.
Cater was supposed to meet you in his room for a movie night after he ran an errand for Trey. He'd text you twice about it and even called once he delivered the sweets. However, when he came back forty minutes after he said he would, things got heated.
He didn't mean to be snappy, neither did you. But one thing led to another and you two were fuming. He didn't yell. He didn't shout. He was silent actually, trying to contain his opinion as you paced in front of him, your hands flying in frustration.
He grew tired of listening to it though, the floor creaking under his weight as he stood up. He just wanted to sit with you. He hadn't meant to break one of Riddle's rules coming in the dorm and get sent on another errand. He hadn't meant to be late for the little date you'd be so exited for all week. He hadn't meant to make you mad. He despised even seeing you frown at little things let alone seeing you upset at him.
Maybe if he just hugged you… he thought to himself, his arms reaching for you once he rose. He expected to hug you, apologize, listen to you chew him out some more and then maybe have him make it up with some treats or a kiss.
What he didn't expect was for you to flinch, nearly stumbling and tripping over your own feet when his hand brushed against you.
The second you saw his hand you had gone pale, your feet moving on their own before even considering the soft look in his eyes.
He felt like he had been stabbed. His lips trembling as he saw you clutch onto his bed curtain, almost cowering behind it.
Did you think he was going to hit you?
His heart sank. His stomach lurched. He felt like he was going to be sick, his eyes staring dead at your face as you took in a sharp breath, as if you had braced yourself for something.
“Baby…” He whispered, his eyes welling with tears as he took in the look of fear on your face. The way you looked at him so uncertain, so desperately…it tore him to shreds.
He took a weary step forward, his hands out in front of him as if he was approaching a wounded animal instead of his girlfriend. “Baby, I-im not going to hurt you—” he murmured, trying to keep his tone low as he stepped closer. He noticed the way your eyes shifted to his every movement. Trailing from his hands to his feet, to his eyes and back to his hands.
You fingers gripped the curtain so tight your knuckles went white. He felt like bawling, begging for your forgiveness, doing anything to make it up to you for scaring you. But a darker thought lingered in his mind.
Had you been hit before?
He remembered watching Trey try to help Riddle after his overblot, how the redhead would mutter apologies every time he was told he was being too strict or that it was okay for the rule to be broken once or twice. It had taken weeks for Trey to rewire the perfectionist mindset that Riddle had adapted from his mother. And in knowing that, all he could think about was who the hell you had adapted to in fear of being hit.
“It's okay…” he cooed, inching closer as he watched your shoulders shake, your eyes brimming with tears. He prayed they didn't spill. That he could calm you down. That he could get you to trust him again. The thought of you never trusting him again crossing his mind.
Focus, Cay.
“Sweetheart, it's me.” He softened, an idea forming in his mind as he slowly crouched down a few feet in front of you. “It's your Cay-cay,” he quaked, his voice trembling as he made it on to his knees, his hands still in front of him like a peace offering. He noticed your breath trying to steady, the horrified look in your eyes dimming ever so slightly when he sat down.
He's so glad he read that random article online about mammalian nonverbal communication. It talked about how body language played a big part in social situations. How kneeling or appearing smaller naturally was a given gesture of respect. How kneeling could also subvert the possible threat someone could feel by imbalance in height or size. It would lower the center of gravity, which inherently would put the other person at ease. Which he could only hope it was doing for you.
Like how he would lean down to reassure you in crowds. Or how he would bend down to tie your shoes in the rain when you didn't want to get your hands muddy. Only this time he was emphasizing vulnerability, trying his best to calm down your mind so it no longer would pose him as a threat.
“I'm not going to hurt you, babe. I—” He swallowed, guilt seizing his chest at the fact he even had to tell you these words. It should have been a given. He shouldn't have to kneel in his room after trying to hug you to keep you from thinking he was going to put his hands on you.
It shouldn't have triggered you when he moved forward. But it did. And he swore on everything he was going to fix that.
“I would never hurt you.”
He whispered, watching as a tear slipped down your cheek. For a split second he was horrified you weren't going to come to him. Horrified you would run out or never let him touch you again.
A sudden loud cry against his chest made his mind fall blank in an instant, your body crashing into his.
He nearly fell over, steadying himself with a soft wince as you sobbed in his arms. He held you tighter, his chin cautiously positioning itself along your shoulder as he began to whisper in your ear.
“You're safe with me, baby.”
“I'm sorry I scared you. Please don't be afraid.”
“I would never hurt you. Never…”
By the time you calmed down, his fingers rubbing shapes along your spine and his lips gently pressed along your shoulder, you were exhausted. You nearly wailed in his arms for like ten minutes. Maybe even more.
But Cater didn't say anything about rushing your state. He didn't tell you to “stop crying”, he told you “cry as long as you need to”. He didn't tell you to “stop getting snot or tears on his shirt”, he told you “just let it all out, baby. I'm here”.
In the end, between exhaustion and Cater's soft touch you slipped unconscious, the weight shift only making him hold you closer to his chest. He held you there for a few more minutes, not rushing, just waiting. He kept his hand running steadily against your back, he kept pressing soft kisses along your skin or whispering encouraging words in your ear. He even contemplated sleeping on the floor with you so you wouldn't have to be moved, but he decided against it when he realized you'd probably wake up sore. And he already had to watch you cry, he wouldn't stand the idea of you waking up tomorrow in pain.
That night, Cater took the floor after tucking you in gently on his bed. He took a spare pillow from his closet and a thin blanket, not even bothering to change out of his uniform. Meanwhile your jacket was tucked carefully in his chair at his desk along with your untied shoes.
He barely slept, watching for every shift, listening for every whimper, waiting for any sign that you needed him again.
After three hours of nothing, he let himself drift off.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
The next morning the sun peaked through the curtains at the perfect angle to wake you up. You groaned softly, shifting around and subconsciously reaching for the warmth you were used to sleeping with.
But instead you found the warm body you snuggled on the floor, his neck craned uncomfortably and his eyebrows knit together like he was having a nightmare. You body moved instantly, his eyes fluttering open as he felt a leg slot between his and a soft breath against his chest.
“Mhn…good morning, sweetheart.” He whispered, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as he wrapped a steady arm around your waist, not pulling you any closer until you practically nudged into him. He responded instantly, tucking your head under his chin and wrapping his legs around yours almost effortlessly. His fingers brushed against the skin under the hem of your shirt, his eyes softening as he fought himself to ask the question that burned in his throat all night.
He had to know.
﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Seeing your fears firsthand last night was one thing. Hearing you tell him about your past boyfriend's abuse and the examples you gave him of it was a whole other story.
He tried to keep a neutral expression, wanting to stay calm for you as you told him about the abuse. Your ex used to smack you if you argued with him—if you talked back. Thats why you had been so on edge. Why you shrunk in front of him like a sad kicked puppy.
You practically were a kicked puppy at one point, the realization making him sigh and press a tender kiss against your lips. He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, your bodies still huddled on the carpet.
“I'm so sorry that happened to you, baby.” He frowned, feeling your hands grip his shirt tighter in your fingers to ground yourself. He pulled you closer once more, rubbing your leg with his foot gently to help steady your reality further.
“I'm sorry too.” You murmured, embarrassed you had even considered Cater would have hit you. He shook off your apology in an instant, not bothering to feel any offense towards the way you reacted to him yesterday.
“It's not your fault. You don't have to be sorry for trying to keep yourself safe after what you've been through,” He felt your lips tremble once more, his eyes meeting yours as he pressed the sweetest of kisses to your nose. “I swear though, you'll never have to worry about me, babe. And if you do, just tell me. I'll fix it.” He smiled, kissing your eyelids before bringing your face to his shoulder.
“And if you ever see him again, tell me, okay sweetheart?” He asked, drawing a curious look from you. “Why…?”
It took him a moment, a sly grin stretching across his lips as if he we're about to crack a joke. But when he told you what he would do if he ever saw your ex, his tone was anything but playful. He sounded dead serious. Murderous.
“I'll kill him for ya.”
He pressed a sweet kiss to your head sighing as he gave you a soft squeeze one more time, his words ridding any concern you every had of him until now.
“Nobody is gonna hurt my girl and get away with it. Not if Cay-cay can help it.”

Synopsis: Knowing Azul was a workaholic was one thing. Seeing him up at 1am when he should be sleeping was another.
--In which your overworked Azul needs some kisses and reassurance to make him stop working and come back to bed.
Notes: established relationship ⋆kisses⋆makeout⋆a lil suggestive⋆fluff⋆comfort⋆reader is prefect but not mentioned⋆gn reader⋆jade ref towards end
“Azul?” You eyebrows pinchined together as you slowly awoke, you body shifting under the blankets. You rubbed your eyes to get a better view on what looked like a figure at Azul's desk. Thankfully in the dark of his room you could see it was just him. Only he wasn't supposed to be at his desk. He was supposed to be in bed. With you.
Azul's body was tight, his shoulders back as if maintaining proper posture would somehow help him despite the time of night. The fact that not only had he managed the lounge today, but he also spent hours cleaning it too made you frown. No way he still was working. You sighed and looked over at the clock beside his bed.
1 am.
With a small grumble you rose from the covers, the chill of the room hitting your exposed skin. Azul's spare shirt hung over your body, your shorts swallowed up by them. You should have worn pants. You walked over quietly to him and wrapped your arms from behind him.
“O-oh! Pearl—Im sorry,” He flinched, his face flushing a soft red. “I didn't wake you, did I?” He asked cautiously, his throat bobbing with an unease. You didnt reply, leaning down until your face tucked into his neck with a heavy sigh. You felt his breath hitch, his eyes shifting to your figure in an instant.
He nearly turned purple when he felt your lips on his skin begin to move. “my—love? I appreciate the affection but—”
“Please come back to bed…” you murmured, already moving to another spot on his neck. It was soft at first, almost careful across his skin. You noticed him shiver. He never had been one for large amounts of affection. Not at late at least. He always described it as improper. Like it was some sort of scandal for him to indulge in his girlfriend. But you knew he was just afraid of becoming too needing of your touch, which unfortunately was the state you were in tonight. You didn't like when he left the bed. You couldn't sleep without him.
“Azul, please come back to lay down,” you whispered, your breath making him swallow deeply once more. He looked like he was going to break if you kissed him again. And while the idea was slightly tempting, you weren't over here to turn him into mush. You just wanted him to come back to bed.
You could tell he was thinking about it, his expression conflicted. He could feel your arms tighten around him, your breath fanning against his neck. His sighed slowly, his hand reaching for yours.
You followed silently, watching as he took your hand and led you to stand in front of him. Your brows knit, confusion hitting you as he leaned up and slightly towered over you. You were pressed against his desk gently, his eyes darkening with uncertainty. He tried to explain himself.
“I—” he began, choking as his words as you took the initiative to prop yourself up on the desk, your legs dangling and brushing against him lightly.
Azul's lips curved into a frown, his expression twisting into a sort of shame. “My pearl I can't…” He sounded like he was asking a question. As if he hadn't fully made up his mind yet for going through with this. Like he was trying to convine you more than himself that he had a good reason for leaving you to yourself.
“And why not?” You replied, hands reaching the straps of his suspenders as you attempted to direct him closer. He followed instantly, stepping between your legs and receving a warm hum from your lips which made his composure crack little by little.
You knew what you were doing. And so did he. And he couldn't stop it. Part of him didn't want to. You had always had him in the palm of your hands from the start of your relationship. Azul always tried to act as if it was inconvenient at times, but deep down he was right where he wanted to be. And he wanted to be sleeping tucked up with you right now...he just...
When you reached one hand for his tie, tugging gently, he stepped forward, confusion laced in his words. "What are you-"
Before he could say anything else you brought your lips to his, his eyes fluttering shut slowly.
It started slow, a gentle kiss, one to wind him down a little. After all, just a kiss or two and you hoped you could ask him to come back to bed to cuddle and you both would finally get some sleep. However, when you pulled away, your heard a faint whine. Your eyes shootung open at the sound. Did he—
You didn't have the time to think about what just came out of him, his lips crashing back into yours. The impact of his kiss nearly made you fall back on his desk, quickly grabbing his bicep to steady yourself while his teeth clashed with yours.
His arms wrapped around you in the blink of an eye, pulling you closer against his chest while he pushed himself further between your legs. Your face burned, you eyes falling shut and a whimper left your mouth, muffled by the sound of him swallowing. Without a second thought your hand tugged hard against his tie, your mind swirling with passion.
Sevens...you hadn't gotten a kiss like this in a while. How could you pass it down?
Just as you settled into it, the sharp sting of air against your face brought you back to reality. He pulled away for a second, making your lips turn into a small pout. Was he okay?
You sat silently only to watch as he snatched his glasses off his face, the lenses slightly fogged.
Oh. Oh...
You took in the reaction, your face burning a deep shade of red as he leaned back into you, his hands reaching for your hips to steady himself.
𓆝 ⋆。𖦹°‧
Within minutes the room was filled with the soft sound of groans, your lips moving against one another passionately. His hands clawed frequently at your hips, squeezing in rythm with each kiss he gave you. His fingers dipping under your shirt ever so often, his hands desperate to take hold of any part of you. You felt butterflies in your stomach, his hands squeezing the fluffy part of your tummy just above your waist line.
Your hands no longer occupied his tie, instead wrapped tight around his neck to keep him from knocking you over. Your heart fluttered at the sudden feeling of his tongue meeting your lips, pushing against them as if begging silently for you to let him in.
You didnt need any more than that.
Instantly you opened your mouth, head tilting back as he brought his hand up to your neck and angled you for his benefit.
It felt like heaven...every inch of your mind filled his touch again. It was perfect to feel him to be at your side once more. For him to be enjoying himself.
Relaxing.
Doing anything but work in this moment was good enough for you, even if he was being quite bolder than usual.
Meanwhile he could only compare the feeling as being perfectly tucked into into an octopus pot, his legs slotted between yours, your chests brushing against one another.
Except, it didnt remind him of being tucked away in fear, but one of love. Comfortability.
His tongue stroked against yours so painfully slow, you couldn't help but whine, the sweet sound only making him repeat the action eagerly.
Caught between bliss and exhaustion he didnt realize his lips eventually begining to slow. Or the fact that his body running out of the energy so fast he felt like he couldn't breathe.
His tongue slowed...his kisses became sloppier...his breath going ragged.
His body swayed suddenly.
You instantly flinched, pulling away as quickly as you could to make sure he was alright. You could feel the shivers in his shoulders, the way he shook, not with pleasure, but with a familiar exhaustion you despised having to watch him endure.
Noticing your sudden drawback, the blush on his cheeks turned purple, a soft look of horror growing on his face as he came back to himself and noticed your disheleved appearance. His shirt you wore in was raised up on you exposing your stomack. Your lips were all red and puffy and your eyes searched him in worry. His mind caught up to him fast, his hands pulling off your body so fast it was as if you had physically burned him.
“O-oh sevens...I—” he stammered, his hands not knowing what to do anymore, all cofidence he just had lost at the thought of him making you uncomfortable. His hands hovering in the air like he was afraid to touch you again. “Are you o-okay?” He questioned quietly, his eyes slightly filling with tears.
“Hey—hey- I'm fine!.” You squeaked, your eyes going wide.
He didnt look so sure. “I promise, Im okay, Azul!" You restated, looking away shyly before admitting to him, "I'm just a little out of breath… and I-i'm worried about you.” You sighed, watching as his muscles flexed in tension.
“I'm sorry I got carried away…” he whispered, his eyes meeting yours with guilt before he asked you, “B-but whats worrying you? I should be the one worried about you...I didn't mean to get so bold I just..." He trailed off, his foot begining to take a step back.
You were silent for a moment, weighing the best way to tell him how you felt right now.
“Its because you havent taken a break all day. Because you're tired...” You said quietly. “I see it,” you began, your hands balling into fists beside you. “I hoped you would see, it…but here you are working when you should be in bed.” You watched as his expression sank, a defeated sigh leaving his lips.
He saw it. There was no way he didn't see—feel the exhaustion in his own body. He was just ignoring it. As usual.
“I just…” he trailed off, his lips curving down. “theres so much to do…and I don't want work in the way of our date tomorrow.” He admitted, his gaze shifting to the floor.
Thats what this was all about? He didn't want your date with him to be ruined?
Your hands slowly came up to cradle his jaw, directing his eyes back to yours. “How much work do you have left?” You glanced beside you to the desk littered with contracts, lists, and other papers you couldn't read under the dim lighting.
You felt him tense again, your eyes returning. “At least…another four hours of work.” You face instantly fell.
“Azul, why don't we work on it tomorrow,” you replied, stroking his cheek as if he would crack like glass. You didn't know the work load was this bad. “And if we have time left we can go on our date."
You saw the flicker of defense in his eyes with those words. But you didn't let him argue. “No date until the work is done...not if you're going to be so exhausted like this.” You said firmly, knowing there wouldn't be any other way to get him to understand you were serious about this.
You wanted to go on the date just as much as he did, if not more, after looking forward to it all week. But you didn't want him struggling with his lack of rest. And the idea of him being overworked overpowered your need for a night out with him. Besides, who's to say you wouldnt have time for a date the next day?
It took him a few minutes to agree, a few more kisses having to be shared in order to persuade him—and calm him down, but he eventually obliged.
Once he was on board with your date turning into a work session rather than dinner, you led him back to bed, pulling him to your chest and stroking his hair till he succumbed to sleep.

The next day you two didnt make it to your date. In fact, the only place you both made it to was the couch where you both were currently passed out.
Jade stepped in the back of the lounge rooms looking for Azul in hopes of asking a question, but he froze when he saw you two.
Azul was taking up most of the couch, his long legs stretching to the opposite end, slightly intertwined with yours. You were laid across his chest, arms under his shirt like they were part of him and the two of your breathing nearly in sync.
Jade watched and with a soft sigh he quietly removed the pen from Azul's hand, put it on the table and carefully Azul's dangling hand over your back. Azul naturally shifted in his sleep, his newly free hand immediately slipping under your shirt in return. Jade saw you snuggle deeper into Azul's chest, the action reminding him of two eels trying to tie themselves together.
And you guys thought Floyd was clingy.
Jade had to hold back a laugh as he arranged the documents and contracts on the table, hearing tiny snores or grumbles on the couch behind him. He ended up organizing the messy pile into a three neat stacks. Contracts. Documents. Lounge fees. After all, what was kind of employee would he be if he didnt know what went where or how to lessen the work load for his boss every so now and then?

When Jade left, he cut the lights down and shut the door. On the couch asleep remained you and Azul, a teal plush blanket that wasnt there before now laid over the two of you, only easing you both further into sleep.

I hope you enjoyed this! And sorry if it got a little carried away with the kiss...Azul is just kissable. Besides if you're reading an Azul x reader, you've probably thought about kissing him anyways!
If you enjoyed this please look forward to more writings to come on my page as well as another Azul fic I made before this. Hopefully I'll do some other characters soon and maybe even make a masterlist and things so stuff will be easier to find in the near future.
Also, as always, if you have any feedback or tips let me know! Thanks for reading! - your dear author, moonflower.
(Don't feed this to ai or Azul will give you no more kisses.) </3
Synopsis: When feeling insecure due to perfectionist tendencies, you try your hardest to make up for what youre "lacking" by doing Azul's classwork late one night. Azul finds you in the lounge and confronts you about it.
Notes: established relationship ⋆ sort of begining/new relationship⋆bit of angst? (considering the reader views themselves as less than good enough for Azul)⋆fluff⋆comfort⋆reader is prefect
Nothing you did seemed to help you sleep. Not the warm blankets. Not the dimly lit room. Not even your boyfriend's gentle snores could help you. You just tossed and turned without any avail, causing Azul to mutter soft complaints while he slept. Not wishing to wake him, you decided to quietly slip out of his hold and head to the lounge to make something to drink. After all, if you couldnt sleep, maybe it was better to just wake up for the day.
Even if it was two in the morning.
Perhaps Azul had some papers he'd accidentally left out that you could organize? Not that Azul was one for leaving important things lying around, but sometimes there would be a stray contract after a long day or maybe some of his unfinished classwork.
As you made your way to the lounge your eyes drifted over the glass hallways, the fish swimming around melodically and the light reflecting against the floor. A small shiver travled up your spine. Perhaps coming out in your pajamas—which was really just Azul's shirt and your shorts—wasnt the best idea. It was always a cooler temperature in octavinelle with the water anyways.
Instead of going back though, you opted for brewing a warm drink and sinking into one of the couches that was near the heated vents. To your enjoyment you shifted Azul's papers in your hands and went over them silently. It was his history of magic homework from today's class, and thankfully that was the one class you actually understood.
Unfortunately for you, being the only one without magic definitely felt like a huge disadvantage most of the time. Especially whenever your overworked boyfriend came back to his room and you couldnt even help take the load of schoolwork off his plate. It made you feel helpless…like maybe if he had someone else—he wouldnt be so stressed all the time. You know, someone who could actually help him with magic?
Just thinking about it made you even more restless. Perhaps thats why you hadnt been able to sleep. Especially not after Azul got off work from the lounge exhausted and you couldnt do anything to help him. You felt so unqualified for this. For being his girlfriend.
A soft sigh escaped your lips. You could help with this.
You had to.
And so you took one more sip of your tea before getting to work.

Back in Azul's room he grew cold, his usual warmth of your body against his making him stir. His hands immediately reached for you, only to feel the chill of the sheets instead. He groaned and slowly opened his eyes searching for your figure. Maybe he'd accidentally took up too much space and you were on the edge or something? But as his blurry vision focused enough to realize you were no where to be seen, he froze.
When he found you in the lounge his heart nearly skipped a beat, his worries fading as he walked over to you. He tightened his robe and pushed his glasses closer to his face. Nearing you he saw you holding papers, your hand writing in hurried—almost agitated motions.
“Pearl…?”
You looked up slowly to see Azul a few feet from the couch, his hair sticking up a little from rolling in his sleep. “Oh…hey Azul,” you smiled weakly, “I didn't wake you, did I?”
He shook his head. “No…no. I just…woke up.” He replied softly, taking another step closer to see what you were scribbling away at. “Whats that…” He began, only to pause when it clicked to him what you had in your hands.
He immediately frowned. “What are you doing my papers for?” His shifted within seconds, going firm as he crouched next to you. His hand came up to take the papers from your grasp. Your stomach twisted slightly as you handed them over.
“O—oh I figured I could help you with it so you wouldn't be behind tomorrow.” You replied, your nervous tone making his lips turn down even more. “Pearl, I appreciate your help,” He sighed, rubbing his head in frustration. “but you should be sleeping right now.” He put the papers on the table behind him, his eyes catching the few cups of tea sprawled across the glass sufcace. Just how long had you been up doing this?
You sat up slowly as you heard him sorting through the pages, all of them filled in but the last one. You had completed thirteen pages of history questions in the span of an hour. For a second he deeply appreciated it, not mad at your enthusiasm to help. However, he didnt want you sacrificing your sleep for his school work. You didnt have to. Nothing on the contract he'd signed with you mentioned anything about you having to do things for him like this. Surely, he assumed it was a sign of love, but you had been trying to do so much for him as of late. So why this too?
He turned to face you, his gaze uncertain. Silence filled the room between the two of you as you waited for his reaction. But enough was expressed in his eyes.
“Did I um—” You paused, your mind racing with the potential fear that he was somehow mad at you for doing his work.
“Did I do something wrong?” You murmured weakly, the tone of your voice only twisting the knife deeper into his heart. He moved on instinct, his hands reaching to cup your cheeks while he searched for any sign of explanation on your face. “Do something wrong?” He nearly laughed. Did you seriously think he was mad about you doing the work itself?
“Darling, why would you think such a thing?” His voice quaked and he brushed his thumb across your cheek, trying to think of anything that would have made you feel such a way.
“Well I know I'm not the best of help for your other classes—” you trailed off, unable to look him in his eyes. “B-but I'm good at history of magic! I can help you with that, at least…”
A wave of deeper confusion hit Azul. He picked apart you words quickly though. Once he did, he only felt worse.
“At least?” He repeated, catching the insinuation in your tone. The insecurity. The feeling helplessness that he tried so hard to take off your shoulders when you first started dating. It still seemed to linger though every now and then. But the way he saw it? You didnt need to carry his burdens for him. And you especially didnt need to feel bad when you couldnt carry them.
Before you could blink he had his arms around you, your body tensing momentarily until you returned the favor, slipping your arms around his torso. He squeezed you tight, his lips brushing against your outer ear. “Darling, please come back to bed.”
“I don't need you to do my homework. I dont need you to worry about the things you can or can’t do for me.” He whispered. “I didnt ask for anything but you in that contact. And I mean that,” He murmured, placing a soft kiss beneath your ear. “You're perfect the way you are,” His breath shook and you could feel the tears filling your eyes. “You're perfect for me.”

His arms gently wrapped under your legs as he pressed a soft kiss to your neck, shifting your weight in his arms to lift you up from the couch. You wrapped your legs around his waist so you wouldn't fall, his hands supporting you as he made his way back to his room. He could clean up the tea and papers tomorrow. Right now he was more concerned with you.
Stepping inside his door he could feel you tightening your hold on him. He glanced down at your face, your eyes still watery as you tried to hide against his chest.
He hated how insecure you felt. How little you thought of yourself when it came to him. But he could only be so mad. He understood it to an extent. He'd thought the same about himself many times. But, he was gonna fix that. He was going to fix every preconceived notion you had against yourself as a girlfriend. No matter what it took.
With a few minutes of situating and he made sure you were comfortable, you ended up back in the same position you were when you first came over. You arms were around his neck, and one of his arms sat around your waist while the other rubbed the nape of your neck.
You thanked him anxiously for his sweet words he had said earlier. But upon him asking if you felt any better now, you still felt undeserving of him.
He was a great student. He was a great scammer businessman, and he was great at magic. You were barely one of those things.
But you were great as his girlfriend. To him you were worth everything.
He listened to your concerns, only nodding as you spoke so you could get things off your chest. While you explained your feelings, his eyes never strayed from yours. He kept a gentle touch at your neck, running his hands into your hair when he noticed you biting your lip or struggling to talk to him, trying to keep you soothed through the entire thing so you wouldn't keep anything bottled up. And thankfully you kept speaking.
In the end he understood every supposed “issue’ you had with yourself. And despite the time it took, despite the hour it was, despite how tired he was…he spent the time to rebuttle you on how wrong those statements were in his eyes.
“Its not true you know,” he smiled, tilting your chin up slowly to bring your face closer to his. “You don't have to be good, or useful, or the most skilled for someone to care about you. For you to be loved.” He leaned in slowly, his lips meeting yours in a tender embrace. Your breath shoke from emotion, his lips immediately parting to let you breathe. “It's okay…youre okay, my pearl.” He whisperd reassuringly while his fingers slowly traveled to your back, resting under your shirt to rub small shapes and patterns against your skin. You sighed once more, as you struggled to steady the emotions bubbling up in your chest. Your throat tightened as you tried not to break down in front of him.
You tried to process his affectionate words. Tried to process the idea that you didnt have to do anything to earn his love.
He could sense it too. The way you held onto your insecurities like a vice grip. He too knew what it was like to feel less than adequate. To feel useless. But thats exactly why he would’nt fall asleep until he knew you felt better.
Not until you knew just how much he loved you. His darling. His shining pearl.
His perfect girlfriend.
With one last kiss he brought your face to his chest, resting his chin atop your head as he continued to rub your back.
“Just get some rest, pearl. Just…let me love you.” He pleaded. He felt your arms tightening around him and he did the same, pulling you closer till your bodies couldn't be any more together. Usually Azul was a bit cautious with letting you so closed physically. However, tonight it just felt…different.
It felt right.
And thats how he knew you were the only one for him. His one and only choice. He just had to make sure you knew such things.
So, as he felt your body eventually fall limp and succumb to sleep, he began to think of every possible way he could spoil you in affection tomorrow.
Because Azul was not going to rest until you accepted that you were just as good as a girlfriend as he thought you were.
