Hi, all! I realised that I haven’t done an official information thing on Tumblr, so this is that <3

A little information about this blog: 

- Multifandom blog. - Shipping rules and expectations. On this blog, I believe in 'ship and let ship' and the age-old fandom testament of 'Dead Dove Do Not Eat', as well as kink tomato. I write dark ships. I write ships that I don't personally like, or sometimes, even endorse. I write RPF. I have written beloved characters as abusers, and I have written "controversial" ships. I will not apologise for any of these things. I believe that everyone has a right to read, write, and create whatever they want as long as proper tags & warnings are utilized. I don't believe in policing anyone's creative expression, nor purity culture in general. Respect is key, and at the end of the day, we're all just friends on the Internet writing shit for one another. You don't know someone else's story, and it isn't on you to judge. On this blog, if you don't like something, you're expected to skip it and move on. Curate your own fandom experience.

- Prompting rules and expectations. While I encourage those who visit this blog to submit whatever prompts they would like to, I reserve the right to refuse any prompt at any time if I do not feel I can write it or don't feel comfortable doing so. I also reserve the right to answer prompts in whatever order I choose, which may not necessarily be in the order that I received them. If you submit a prompt off of anon, I will reach out to you through Tumblr to get your AO3 username and gift the fic to you. If you submit a prompt on anon, the fic will be posted on Tumblr and AO3 without a dedication. Notes: I am primarily an angst writer, so asks that include angst, hurt/comfort, or trauma will likely be filled much quicker than others. - This is a kind, welcoming place. If you don’t have anything nice to say here, please don’t say anything at all. Fandom drama is unavoidable at times, but this blog is meant to be a safe space. Please keep that in mind.

Writing Resources to use instead of AI

For coming up with character names:

Behind the name (my absolute fav)

Allows you to choose the origin of where you want the name to be from, whether you want a more feminine vs masculine vs androgenous name (as voted by users), random surname generator, and clicking on the name gives you important info like if there are any famous people with the same name, where it’s from, how common it is, and how people tend to see it, etc.

You can also search their name database by letter or meaning or origin, so if you know you want a character who has a name/surname that starts with an A from Ireland, there’s a whole list for you to choose from.

Census sites

Especially useful if you’re looking for a name from a specific place and/or time period. Just search “(country) census (year)” and you’ll find a database of real people who lived in that place at that time. No one can ever call your names unrealistic again.

For coming up with place names:

Fantasy name generator

This site can basically come up with any name for any person, place, or thing you might ever need. There are also specific generators for different fandoms if you’re looking to make an OC in an established world.

For finding that one word on the tip of your tongue:

One Look Thesaurus

This is my go-to. Not only can you find synonyms like a regular thesaurus, but you can also describe words like “unhappy smile” or “quiet laugh” to find the more specific word you’re looking for.

For coming up with ideas:

Word cloud

When I need to inspire a new idea, I write down all the things I’m interested in (hauntings, academia, lesbians, etc.) and put them into a word cloud to shuffle them next to each other. Sometimes seeing a concept in a new context can spark new ideas!

This is my discord channel (shameless plug) for when you need to brainstorm off other people but don’t have anyone irl to talk to. We’re also happy to read and give feedback on writing, answer writing questions, or just chat!

For visualizing places and characters:

Pinterest

Pinterest can at times be a bit too sterile for my tastes, but if you use the right words, you can find more realistic photos of places. For example, adding “aesthetic” after basically any word will bring up a more broad collection of photos to help you flesh out places.

This is also a great way to find photos of people and fashion to help visualize characters. I’m bad at describing clothes, so I usually collect photos of outfits to help me know what my characters are wearing. Searching up “character inspiration” will collect more interesting photos and drawings of people who might not exactly be of our world.

(However, to make Pinterest not show you AI results, you have to go into your settings and check the “reduce AI” box. Luckily, it does mostly work.)

Death to Stock

Like pinterest but completely AI free (hooray!) Only drawback is that you have to pay a monthly subscription (about $20 CAD).

Cosmos

Very similar to pinterest but slightly more "artsy". I'm not super familiar with this one but I believe all the photos are human and you can save them and create collections with a free account.

Dupe Photos

Royalty-free stock image site with very Pinterest-core photos!

Minecraft

If you haven’t built your entire fictional city in Minecraft instead of writing, why not? It’s fun.

The Sims

This one is dual purpose because you can not only create your characters in Create a Sim, but you can design their houses. If you really want to go for it, you can bulldoze all the lots in your town and build your world from scratch.

Easy to follow definitions and examples, and if you learn better by listening, every article comes with a podcast to follow along with instead.

Grammar Monster

This one is my favourite for checking grammar rules because there’s tons of examples in graphics that helps for any situation.

phila is a gaping hole in the narrative of fe13 (affectionate, but also lamenting) in so many ways. the three peg knights trope. more than that, she's the mentor, the eldest peg knight, the promise to the younger fledgling knights that they can survive, that they can live and be great and hey maybe it won't be easy but it'll be possible. she feeds into the overwhelming sense of despair in the narrative. she seems to be the confirmation that fate is set. her death says: there is no future for you, little flier, and there will be no future for anyone else who tries to take up your wings. she is an echo of emmeryn's overwhelming absence, a shadow of the loss. unfulfilled, unfulfilling. she is a premonition of a world that is aflame but in all narratives she doesn't even see it. she is a sigil of doom and she doesn't even know the full extent of the loss she signifies. idk. I love phila so much you guys.

phila's death in fea was pointless shock value and added nothing to the story. it would've been way more interesting for her to be defeated, but survive and be recruited at the beginning of chapter 10, so we could have her character contrasted against frederick's as someone who failed to save the woman she was duty-bound to protect. imagine the supports. imagine how good they'd be.

since intsys obviously doesn't care about her she's mine now btw. she has supports with at LEAST cordelia, sumia, frederick, and robin. she's bisexual and can marry robin regardless of gender. her son from the future is named alfred. his starting class is archer and he has a Thing about protecting people in general. unfortunately this sometimes leads him to forget that an archer should *not* be on the front lines. there's a bug where if phila marries female robin, alfred and morgan won't recognize each other as siblings (taken from how it works with gay awakening).

btw you'll never guess which other relatively minor npc from fire emblem awakening i have a weird amount of investment in.

the thing is that i actually do enjoy romance in fiction but i also believe that romance-repulsed aros have the right to complain that NOTHING is made for them except maybe kids media. once you start to realize how pervasive romance is in every sector of society it's impossible to ignore. like you remember when there were barely any gay shows on television and straight people expected us to be grateful for the one gay side character on a network show? that's exactly how it feels with romance all the time. i want to see media created by adults for adults that doesn't involve romance anywhere in the plot. i want to see characters (main characters!!!) not want romance and not be treated as broken or crazy. i want a world where my romance-repulsed friends aren't confined to kids media (and even then, to only a limited selection)

Some of my favorite pining/love languages I wish people would use instead of “longing gazes” and “brief touches that make his heart race”:

• bringing food / coffee, unprompted (bonus: remembering how the other prefers their order be made despite never being directly told, they just remember)

• pep talks. “Hey, you’ve got this.” “You’re gonna knock it out of the park.” “Come on, you’re the best person for this job, are you kidding?” “I’m rooting for you.” “Don’t sell yourself short, you’re incredible.”

• making each other laugh, especially in times where one might need it most; not all pining needs to be serious all the time. smiling and laughter is so sexy, and so intimate. joke around, goof off, have them do the stupidest thing in the world just for shits and giggles, just because they can

• car rides. “do you need a ride?” “You can come, if you’d like.” “I’m heading that way anyway.” “I can show you around town.” I mean, come on, do I even need to explain why this one is good?

• gonna 100% double down on clothing. fixing collars, ties, sleeve cuffs. straightening wrinkles. dusting them off. helping them wipe/clean a stain. handing them their hat/coat. leveling a name tag. offering a napkin so they can clean their glasses.

• teaching them something / learning together. a fact about space. a fact about themselves. a place they’ve never seen. a skill like cooking, driving stick shift, playing an instrument. a book they’ve never read. watching a movie they didn’t know existed.
