I don't really care if romantic Orufrey becomes canon or not as to me they're textually already more than friends. They're extremely devoted and would go to extreme lengths to protect the other. And with Olruggio, I think before any kiss or further intimacy, Qifrey would have to finally confess his feelings to the 12y/o Olruggio that sacrificed himself for Qifrey.

I think Qifrey would have to unpack everything that was said, unsaid and erased over and over again. Only then, he would be ready to confess to the Olruggio of the present, and would be able to love him as the man he is now.

So in summation; Rowling demanded access to a woman’s time and when she couldn’t get it she retaliated by posting an upskirt image of her and called her fat, and some of her fans even went “I think I can see her genitals”.

She literally went “debate me! Debate me!” Over and over like the grifter she is and when she couldn’t get what she wanted and when “no” wasn’t enough she resorted to retaliatory sex-pestery, posting an image of somebody’s body with intention to shame and embarrass and spawn more waspish tittering from her internet followers.

Rowling is trash and this is disgraceful behavior, in case anyone has forgotten.

I think my favorite kind of miscommunication to do in fanfic is when a character has only limited understanding of a situation (especially if that's because the other character is concealing something from them) and they use their limited knowledge to come to a conclusion that is 100% reasonable based on what they know, but completely off base from the truth

The 2026 Gender Census is now open!

The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.
