by giving people who hurt you less space in your mind and stop associating them with stuff you like and focusing on healing!!! going from denial to processing things to healing & focusing on people who love you genuinely and who are good to you & not people who treat you like shit 💓
understand your worth & show yourself compassion & love!!!!!!!!!! 💓
oh also reclaiming things that remind(ed) you of people who hurt you by making new associations with them bc they don’t belong to them they belong to you and your unique vision of them… you can make new associations and like lorde said you always experience things differently from other people & if you start associating them with new things/people/experiences they stop belonging to the people who hurt you in your mind & one day they won’t even remind you of them. also helps to listen to new music read new books etc etc to feel like you’re experiencing all these things that the people who hurt you will never know about and you never have to share them with them.
