The next character I decided to give a redesign to was Jhiqui. Link to original post here.

My main goal for Jhiqui (as well as Irri but I'm posting hers tomorrow) was to give her a more personal identity and design since GRRM's unchecked racism and orientalism (please have some people of color on your team, GRRM, please) is still hurting the characters color.

From my OG post:

"With Jhiqui we get a bit more. With the same disappointing way GRRM describes women I accentuated her chest and hips but because I didn’t want to sexualize her I made sure to add more layers so her figure could be seen through the silhouette. One little trait I kept in mind was the fact that she tied the first bell on Dany’s hair so I decided to give her a pouch where she could keep anything small and important at hand. I gave her two braids in a different shape to further individualize her."

To add: In Dany 1 in a ASOS, we get this "...her thick black hair tumbled about her head." With the way tumbled is used with other ladies in the texts I decided to take that and give her two braids as a way to indicate her hair is longer and thicker than Irri's.

(Also a big thanks to those who messaged & commented about the spam filter. I would have replied but apparently having a side blog from a filtered main account means I CAN'T and I didn't know if they'd be okay with a post dedicated to them.)

I’ve always love the Byzantine Targ idea so I wanted to try my hand in it as intimidating as the jewellery was. I want to color to this one day but it’s a long way off because doing this without much detail was tiring lol

When everyone calms down and actually processes Casey's situation, especially Casey himself, I'm sure everyone will just feel so bad about it.

Casey is such a tragic character. Losing his family, the only life he's ever known, transported to an Uncanny version of it, and has to face who he lost with versions of the people he loves who'll never remember him.

And for Mikey and Leo (& possibly April) in particular? Seeing them die and all the deja vu he'll get with their present selves?

I just want this boy to have one breakdown.
