honestly my roman empire is how newt said “they would follow you anywhere” to thomas in that deleted bonfire scene on tst and we all know he meant to say “I would follow you anywhere”, but then in his goodbye letter he did say it

and i like to think it’s because he was too afraid to admit he was talking about himself at the bonfire, afraid thomas would notice newt’s feelings towards him. but then newt didn’t care anymore when he wrote the letter bc ‘hey, i’ll be dead anyways’
