It’s finally happened.

After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.

“I like your shoelaces.”

Oh. Oh no.

I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”

The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”

Yeah. Me neither. Not until today.

So it’s been a few days and I’ve got my concerns about the season, especially the finale—mostly just things like not being able to follow the character’s lines of thinking and plot decisions, major events having no consequences, not being sure what was or wasn’t supposed to be unclear, etc. BUT. I had a great time the first six episodes. Denial is a deep, deep river, and those do hold up well enough to be an UNBELIEVABLY stronger full story for a season than 1-7 imo. I’ve done my mourning and wanna have fun with my hyperfixation show. Gonna pick apart what I can and see what’s there for meta analysis, criticism, theories while we wait for next season. til then, onward!

“you really can’t see armand doing this stuff?” i mean i kind of can. in a better show maybe it even could have been good. in this case however it was just done very poorly and stupidly. that was never going to feel earned after 2 nothingburger armand scenes all season

I love the idea of Akasha flipping through live feeds of all vampires in the world like her favorite shows and getting fixated on her blorbo Lestat and just watching him bury himself and being like "I'm so bored bro when tf are they renewing season 3 of Lestat? I liked that show, its been like 80 years or something wtf was that finale? Marius renew my show, bring him to me."
