Thank God For Girls | Morena and Valentine
Morenaâs parents had never been particularly good at enforcing their rule that their daughter should attend regular family dinners; the rule was there and Morena was constantly reminded of it, but her parents never raised a fuss when the girl rejected dinner plans because of work. Morena often suspected that it had more to do with their embarrassment of her than any desire for her to work hard, but the girl didnât mind either way. Still, the last time she had used her job as an excuse not to attend a family dinner, the look on her fatherâs face was enough for Morena not to push the issue the next time they asked.Â
So here she was, sitting at her familyâs giant table; the true irony was that her parents were nowhere in sight. Her parents and brother were running late from a Death Eater meeting, so it was just Morena and Valentine alone at the table, and the girl couldnât have been more annoyed. She always avoided her sister-in-law when she could help it, but there was no escape this time. Resting her head on her hand, Morena leaned against the table and raised an eyebrow at the blonde seated across from her. âIf they donât arrive in the next two minutes, dinner is cancelled and we can both go home. Deal?â
